I was very comfortable during the whole procedure and could tell that he was being very thorough. I am so glad Lakewood Endodontics is on the provider list. Couple years ago I had to have a root canal. Now this year I needed another! My Medicare insurance covered both. Your TOOTH HURTS or you would not be searching I bet for an endodontist. That means you want an appointment NOW so to speak. Cool thing this office does is even though they set a date for me I asked to be called if any cancellations or reschedules: they called the next day and I gladly went in a day after first calling. That service is great unlike other medical providers who require you to call in , be on hold, then on hold to see if any openings, and then answering yes or no! Dr Sean Wittner whole office is ten! Upon his inspection, a root canal was needed. Upon the call back I proceeded to be seen even faster! through Endodontist Lakewoods Sean Wittner set an appointment for follow up portion of the root canal too to accomplish in two visits but the first one stopping the pain. Each of my visits, 100% that is, either several minutes before my scheduled time or within 2 minutes I was led back to a room and services commenced immediately (I.e. not waiting for another time period but rather services right away each time). His staff appears as though they love working there and genuinely happy and I told Dr Wittmer that directly as it's so true: it puts a patient in a great mood seeing that. Dr Wittmer explains exactly what he is going to do and shows the visual screen to explain. His quiet voice but stated communications with his assistant Misty in the room also helps reduce any stress too as well as listening to my questions. The rooms look professional also with two toned color schemes and crowns atop doors and windows gives a relaxed professional feeling once you enter the building ( instead of one drab color and blank walls). I hope to use this office the rest of my life if I ever need another root canal as he has performed those twice now perfectly without ever having to correct anything. Dr Sean Wittmer is the Owner of Lakewood Endodontics, & he was able to successfully perform an intricate & lengthy r.c. procedure on me, & save my tooth - hooray! Having r.canals done is no picnic, but Dr Wittmer was gentle & very thorough, & he obviously knows his stuff - almost all my tooth sensitivity & pain & discomfort has disappeared, since I had the r.c. procedure done by Dr Wittmer in early January 2020. The office collected my insurance information three different times, yet I barely had time to read the paperwork before being asked if I had questions. The doctor spent only a couple of minutes with me, confirmed I had mandibular tori, and left without a thorough oral exam or explaining the procedure in detail. The biggest concern was the insurance estimate. I was quoted nearly $2,800 upfront. When I questioned it because UnitedHealthcare had told me my in-network benefits were much better, my concerns were brushed aside. After calling UnitedHealthcare myself, I learned the estimate didn't match my plan's contracted allowable amounts. The office said they would investigate and call me back. Four weeks later, I still haven't received that call. I sought a second opinion with an out-of-network oral surgeon, and the experience was completely different. They reviewed my insurance thoroughly, provided procedure codes beforehand, took additional X-rays, performed a complete oral exam, explained the surgery step by step, answered all of my questions, and submitted a preauthorization before scheduling anything. The difference in communication, transparency, and patient care was remarkable. The individuals at the frontdesk, in charge of the office running smoothly are rude and offer the poorest customer service I've ever dealt with when it comes to dental/health care. Some of the doctors (Dr. Lewandoski) are not focused on providing good dental care due to incompetence. In the last 3 years this clinic has placed an emphasis of making money by providing substandard dental care. I had to find another dental clinic to have my teeth properly cleaned even after I tried communicating my concerns with the Frontdesk. A new dentist had to address my dental concerns and addressed my teeth not being cleaned properly after 6 - 8 cleanings. The clinic drilled into my teeth, claiming I had a cavities and placed fillings that lasted only a year or so. This clinic and several others in Pierce county are owned by group of investors who seem to have little interest in patient care.

The first visit impressed me but this week was even better. Listen going to dentist used to put me in panic mode. But Xtracare Dental lessens any anxiety that I had coming in. Even though Down to Earth Dental does not accept my insurance either, I chose to go with them based off of their many five star reviews about patient care. The second I walked into their office, I was greeted by the sweetest lady at the front desk, Karen. She greeted me with a compliment and the warmest smile. She was answering customer calls & coworker questions, but still made sure that I was taken care of. The team was spectacular as well! The doctor & assistant walked me through everything they were doing and were EXTREMELY gentle with the tools their were using. A painless experience is everything a first time patient hopes for. I've been in there at least once a month for the last year. That's how many issues I've had. With all the x-rays they're taken and all the times they've looked into my mouth nothing should be missed. So far I've had two root canals or more I've lost count. Last week, one failed root canal, He couldn't finish it. I've also had 1 extraction and 10 fillings. According to them, I still need another root canal and an extraction. And mind you I don't have that many teeth left. I have a few teeth in the front on my top and bottom. I can't tell you how many times I've been in pain. I go for root canal and the next thing you know something else pops up. When I point out why didn't you see this before? Call me just gives me a blank look . I shouldn't be paying for this if you missed it "Why don't you see this when I'm in here, They showed me a picture of a tooth that they were doing the root canal on last year that you could see with the naked eye that it was starting to get decay. Why didn't they take care of it then? He has no answes and they just look at me like I'm stupid. I actually had to take a loan out to pay some surprise charge that my f****** insurance should have covered. I have two insurances. I want to know why my insurance was completely billed out last year... both insurances. What kind of charges are you sending out to my insurances. I want a complet accounting of what's going on and I'm going to call both of them to find out what the hell's going on. It's happening again this year. It's only February and they're not paying for all these issues that I have. I shouldn't be paying for a failed root canal. And he did a filling that was it and I get a bill for $277. By the way, the shots hurt, the whole process hurt. They're not even trying to be gentle in any way , it was horrible. I thought I was going to die Or have a heart attack. This isn't the first time I've been in pain. I've had other root canals. Hurt like hell!!! Then they have one of their assistants put in nine fillings. The first four she did. I thought I was going to die. That's how much it hurt. I told them I can't do nine at one time so they did four or five but that was too much . They had my mouth open so long. My jaw was collapsing. And they keep hiring assistants. I don't think I see the same person twice So there's a problem here. I want my money back for all the missed issues that they haven't seen that have caused me extreme pain. I don't want to be in extreme pain. I pay you as a professional to make sure all of that is seen and taken care of and it doesn't turn into one emergency after another. Plus I have gum disease. My gums are raw. They have no answers for that. Brush my teeth harder. You got to be kidding. That hurts. Why would you tell me to brush my gums till they bleed? I could go on and on. It's incredible, now I have a half finished root canal and he wants me to go to an endodontist, which is going to cost thousands. You didn't finish the root canal. You need to pay for this. There is no way I'm responsible for the dentist to not able to finish a root canal. That is absolutely unconscionable with all the x-rays you've did. I've had so many x-rays. I'm going to get cancer... How can you not see anything with all of those x-rays you've taken and all of these high-tech impressions of my mouth??? They don't care if you don't have any money. They just gloss over when when you're telling them stuff. However, they're billing my insurance too much and I want the money back and I want them to finish their work or pay for the endodontist that all of a sudden I need. With all the x-rays and impressions you take in my mouth, you should have known that canal was too thin or whatever the hell you said and You should have never started it in the first place. The tooth didn't even hurt me and now it does. Do you care??? You're paying for the endodontist if you can't finish it?. Not me. In addition, I'm going to have both my insurances account everything that you've done and what you're billing them for. I want a refund.
