This place was recommended to me by my mother in law and I'm so happy she mentioned it to me! The staff are super friendly and the owner is super nice as well. It was my pups first time there, and he was returned to me all shiny and clean. They made the walk in experience such a breeze. I dropped off my dog around 11am and immediately was told "yeah we can take him!" along with a pick up time for when he's finished. At first I walked in just to check and see if they were able to take my dog in. I'm happy I did before bringing my dog in with me because they do have few friendly cats that roam around and my dog doesn't do so well with cats haha! So I told the employee there and she said "not a problem!" And placed the kittys upstairs with the door shut behind. Pick up went just as smooth as the drop off! They even give you punch cards for every visit and eventually get a free grooming service once you've reached the amount of punches. Another thing I appreciated was that the employee wrote down the price for the full groom that my dog got so that every time I remember how much it would be. I really appreciated that. Lastly, they were able to get my dogs nails trimmed perfectly! My dog has always had issues with others touching his paws or just his claws getting trimmed, but I was happy to hear that they were able to get it done without a problem. Definitely our new go-to spot!

He doesn't bite but they put a muzzle on him so tight his face was swollen for a week.

I rescind my previous 5 star review. The last time I took him to get groomed, his eye got so swollen he couldn't see out of it for a week and he had an indent on his face from the muzzle. He does not bite, so he did not even need a muzzle. On top of that, they charged $95 to my card for a $55 appointment.

    Horrible groomer

This is the most ghetto groomer faculty ever. They have teenagers grooming. Pretty sure they don't even extract the glands. Our dog almost died from kennel cough. Took our Maltese/ shitzu this weekend and this is what she came back as. Omg! She looked like a Lemur! Only took her there out of desperation because all the "professional" groomers were booked up. Last year same thing with our giant schnauzer. Came back looking like a baboon!

My review is based on my experience with their grooming service: I really like that they accept walk-ins, and the quality of service was wonderful! My Australian Shepherd really needed her bottom and legs cleaned up, and they did a great job giving her the length I asked for and making her fur so soft. They cleaned up her toes very nicely and gave her a cute little bandana too! The only thing I found strange was the sign-in process. When I walked in, immediately an associate placed a temporary leash around her neck and took off her collar and handed it back to me. I found it odd that the associate did not ask me why I brought my dog in, and didn't ask any questions about her or what her name was. After that, I filled out a sign-in sheet that asked for very basic info like her name and breed and my name and phone number, but it just seemed informal to me. Overall, they did a great job with cleaning my dog up and giving her princess treatment :)

INFESTATIONS OF FLEAS!!!!!!! My dog was miserable. This was after getting him groomed and even paid for the flea dip! No go! 4 days later!

My dog came back looking fantastic and smelling great that I won't deny! BUT THE FLEAS!!! INFESTED! I mean Holy bajesus he came back infested! I even paid for the flea dip plus tip. No. Pics are posted this was like 4 days after he came back from his grooming.

Took my dog in on the 20th, his hair cut is terrible and they're suppose to wash him as well but his paws an lower legs were still real dirty. An on top of that after my dog had laid down I had found cuts on him on his belly and under his arm. Will never come here again

Took my dog Coco and my moms dog Lexus today around 11:30a on 8/20/22. They desperately needed a groom. I was apprehensive as the reviews are not that great but took the chance. The 2 ladies I met inside were very nice and asked how we wanted the dogs groomed. They told us to pick up our girls around 4. Overall, the experience and service was great. I love the way they've been groomed! Will be coming back soon.

I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

From the front desk, all the way back to the groomers they're always so professional, and Mila is always so extremely eager and happy to go there; that says so much. I've had my fair share of very bad grooming experiences, with this very dog. K9 Design Grooming Salon has changed my perspective and Mila's perspective on grooming experiences. We used to live extremely close to the Salon, but we recently bought a house in Olympia and still make the drive! We love K9 Design Grooming!!

We took our 7-month-old Dachshund puppy, Chewy, to Soggy Doggy yesterday evening for a nail trim shortly before closing time, and unfortunately, the experience was very upsetting for both our puppy and us. During the nail trim, Chewy yelped multiple times in discomfort, which immediately concerned us. What stood out most to me was that the same nail appeared to be trimmed repeatedly several times, and each time Chewy reacted more anxiously and vocally. As a pet owner, I found it difficult to watch, and it left me feeling uncomfortable about the handling process. I understand that puppies can sometimes be nervous during grooming, and nail trims are not always easy. However, we have previously taken Chewy to other grooming establishments, including Petco and PetSmart, for nail trims and have never experienced this level of distress from him before. I was also surprised that during the nail trim, we were asked questions about Chewy's diet and food choices. While I understand businesses may offer additional services or products, I personally felt that the focus at that moment should have remained on carefully completing the nail trim and ensuring our puppy was comfortable and calm. At the end of the appointment, Chewy also left with a noticeable hangnail. We declined the nail buffing add-on service, but even so, I did not expect his nails to be left in that condition after the trim. Overall, this experience left us questioning the level of handling, training, and attention to pet comfort during grooming services. As pet owners, we trust groomers and staff with the safety and well-being of our animals, and unfortunately, this visit did not leave us feeling confident. Because of this experience, we will not be returning with Chewy in the future. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as gentle handling, professionalism, and pet comfort are extremely important, especially with young puppies who are still learning to trust grooming experiences.

I was told she was offered a great deal for the rental and some homemade dog treats. Parking was a bit confusing as the parking nearby the business was full and there was a spot that we think was free to use but not sure. As we entered, we were greeted by a staff member who let us in and the space is huge! There were plenty of toys, a dog pool, and little obstacles for dogs to enjoy to their hearts' content! They even have a hose to fill up the pool or just have your dogs chase around. There were little cubbies and lots of areas to hang leashes, coats, and other stuff on. They had Youtube videos playing too. The dog treats were so creative. They had cannoli, biscuits, and much more. All of our dogs seemed to have enjoy the treats greatly, no treats were left behind. All of the dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves as they just had so much to do or other dogs to play with. Definitely look forward to coming back here to throw future dog parties as our group loves to do little events for our fur babies.

It made me wonder about the ratio balance between humans vs dogs. I had dropped my dog off for a behavioral assessment, as we have trips coming up and I'm looking for boarding care. This is not where I'm personally comfortable leaving my pup, as the ratio seemed to be 1 human to 15 or 20 dogs in an indoor-only, less than 1500sq foot space. The good news is they are so kind and nice humans, if I was rating them they'd earn 5+++ stars as I'd leave my dog in their care anytime! The problem I had was the physical space (super tiny!) and the ratio of dogs, as they allowed 3 or 4 pups to greet my dog while 15 or so were in a hallway-type space patiently waiting and sooooo well-behaved, to greet and play. The space for playing is very limited, about 1/2 the size of a classroom, and while it's clean and the staff are super lovely, it's probably not the best fit for our pup who loves to play fetch and run. Parking is also super tricky in this neighborhood, as there isn't a parking lot or spaces reserved for the business.

Our cat can have a bit of an attitude, what cat can't, but the staff at Paw Spa must be miracle workers because they groomed her no problem! She has gotten a "lion cut" both times and done very well. Paw Spa also passed the smell test. I have walked into so many animal centric shops that smell either like poop or industrial cleaner. This place smelled like shampoo and happy puppy. Before, knowing that Bree was no longer working there and actually opened up her own groomers doggy spa I had scheduled to take my dogs as usual upon arrival, I was greeted by a lady named Amandaa come to find out. She is the owner. I was a little taken back because I was always greeted pleasantly by Bree. So I had asked is Bree in today and the first thing that I found unprofessional and rude because of the way it was said from this lady Amandaa she goes "oh Bree yeah she doesn't work here anymore and she opened up her new groomers right down the street without giving me notice. (In an unpleasant tone) I had got bad vibes from this lady because she was not warm or welcoming and she just seemed angry. With hesitation having a bad feeling of leaving my dogs there. She proceeded to be snobby as I was explaining to her about my dog's conditions with responses of I have been doing this 29 years. I know how to care for dogs and Saturdays are our busiest days she then grabbed my dog by the collar and immediately put him in a kennel which my dog has health issues and Bree is the only one who knows this and knows how to care for him so he was not used to that. Long story short I left feeling uneasy and not comfortable with doing so, but I had to turn around because my gut was not feeling right and I picked him back up and the first thing that came out of her mouth was really?? Well did you call Bree? And I politely said no I just don't have a good feeling and I would like my dogs back. For that reason since she has been doing it for years, I think she's quite over it with her attitude and I would not recommend bringing your dogs here. On a good note Bree opened up her own doggy groomers. About five minutes away. It is called DIVINE TIMING in LAKEWOOD. I brought my dog there today and he was so happy to see her and did very well even though he has seizures. He didn't have one seizure that should tell you a lot by How patient and caring she is towards animals. I would highly NOT recommend the Paw Spa and head over to DEVINE TIMING to see Bree .. tell her Selena and max sent you!
