We've been coming to Tacoria Piscataway regularly, and it's one of our favorite spots when we're craving Mexican food. Our go-to order is the Golden Avocado Nachos and their burritos--both are consistently fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The ingredients taste fresh, and the flavors are always on point. service is good and prompt.
Extremely friend staff to start, have to make mention because the dude at the register was very helpful and patient for this to be my first experience here. The ambiance is hella cool and trendy, from the wall deco and all of the small details, definitely don't feel like I'm in Piscataway right now. The food was extremely fresh and vibrant against my taste buds. Definitely put chipotle to bed. Although it's a chain it tasted pretty authentic. I'd def return and suggest to others.
This place is always such a great casual eats spot. My only thing with it is that they use fattty pieces of chicken sometimes, which most places do! I just got a bit unlucky this time by ordering the pollo pastor because the chicken was a little overdone too so I got burnt pieces along with the fatty :/ but go with the shredded chicken!! It's a much better option. I loveeee the drink options so much and their little salsa bar area which is self serve. Overall a 4/5 for the chicken but if u like steak, pork and Brussel sprouts for a non meat eater, they have a ton of options!

Delicious and fast service. The sauces are amazing! I got the box this time, it was nice to keep my hands clean. The parking lot is pretty easy to navigate (unlike the NB location where this is no parking). Flavor profile could be a little bolder, but maybe that's why they have a lot of sauces. Nice staff.

Tacoria: A Cozy Little Flavor Fiesta on Centennial Ave! Okay, let's taco 'bout a place that's stolen a little piece of my foodie heart--Tacoria on Centennial Ave! Like all Tacorias, this one is just gorgeously decked out on the inside. Think colorful murals, fun lighting, and that signature funky, artsy vibe that makes you feel like you've stepped into a trendy taco haven with serious personality. It's snuggled into a tiny strip mall, and yep, parking is a bit of a tight squeeze--consider it part of the charm (and a mini warm-up before the feast). If you're lucky, you'll snag a spot out front; if not, embrace the parking-lot shuffle--it's worth it, I promise. Now, let's rewind for a sec--they used to have a self-serve kiosk! Remember those? The touchscreen ordering magic where you'd feel like a tech-savvy taco connoisseur? Sadly, that's gone now, and we're back to good ol' face-to-face ordering. But hey, sometimes it's nice to have a human ask you how spicy you want it, right? As for my go-to order? I'm a loyal, ride-or-die fan of their Golden Avocado Quesadillas. These babies are crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and stuffed with golden-fried avocado that's basically a hug in food form. Pair it with their sweet, cinnamony Horchata, and you've got yourself a dreamy little meal that tastes like a fiesta in your mouth. Now listen, I'll keep it real--Tacoria's usually on point, but there was this one time (cue dramatic music) when the Horchata had gone rogue. It had definitely turned, and no one caught it until I took a sip and gave them the heads up. Crisis averted--but I still love them, and I chalk it up to a rare hiccup in an otherwise flawless relationship. All in all, this spot is a must-stop for me whenever I'm in the area. Fast, tasty, and packed with flavor and good vibes. I'll be back again and again--preferably with a quesadilla in one hand and a (fresh!) Horchata in the other.

When I left the review regarding that they reached out to me at 9:36PM via TEXT and gave NO resolution. The employees seem mid to be there but are helpful to explain the menu and are accommodating to allergies. So decent service. It's a nice quiet and clean place inside. The food price is a little expensive, but not outrageous for a better option than the glorified fast food restaurants in the area.
The food here is solid and definitely worth a try. I have no idea how authentic it is, as I have the impression that most people who talk about authentic Mexican food just has a favorite spot in Cali and uses that as their basis for authentic Mexican food, but the food here is tasty regardless. The Mexican street corn is good, the tacos are great, and the burrito is okay. The horchata is fantastic! Only thing that's not perfect for me is their burrito. Maybe it's too authentic for me, but it's just a lot of rice, like a ton of rice, with a tiny bit of beans and protein, and a dab of sour cream and sauce of your choice. It could definitely use more meat, although to be fair the quality was excellent, and I wouldn't mind some more veggies in there, even if it's like just lettuce and corn. And personally, I'd really love some cheese. If I come back, I'll probably stick to their tacos or try their quesadilla.
PROs - food , service , pricing CONs- hidden gem. Doesn't look like a big restaurant from outside . It's surely a hidden gym . If you pass by this restaurant you will not realize that it is a Mexican restaurant . Wish they had better exteriors . Interiors are awesome . Loved the atmosphere inside . Lots of tables inside to sit and eat. Parking is good outside . Service was good . Loved the smiling guys who helped and did quick work . Ordered a burrito and it was awesome .. it was actually stuffed with so much rice/bean and other stuff. After eating half of burrito , I was almost stomach-full. I specially liked their home made sauces. They had 4 types of sauces and I loved them all. I also had a fried avacado small eats . It was different .. never had it before . With those sauces it tasted good .. Came to this restaurant with yelp recommendations .. I should say , I liked it and will go back again..
Stopped in here with Wifey and my son and had an absolutely delicious lunch. It's a little odd ordering here, but you order up front like it's a fast food place (it's not) and they bring your food back to you. The front area is pretty tight but the back seating area is really open and bright. We kind of all shared each others meals, but we got a chicken quesadilla, a grilled chicken burrito box and a Tinga Burrito. Food was outstanding and their hot sauces are amazingly flavorful. My son graduates soon so maybe I'll make an excuse to drop by campus and take him out to lunch here again.
The BEST fast-casual Mexican spot, by far. Imagine Chipotle but with way better ingredients, bigger portions, and better flavors. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, I usually go with a burrito box and add golden avocado with a side of street corn. They have really nice staff, one time they forgot to add guac on my friend's order and gave her a side of guac and chips to make up for it. They also sell bottled water in store and this sounds crazy but it's really good water. I think there's electrolytes in it and it comes in a fancy metal bottle. If you order delivery from here, things are always packaged well, and because portions are big, there's a good chance you'll have leftovers. Yum!
I've ordered from this location several times and it's one of those places that's been consistently good every time for a quick balanced meal. Whether I'm ordering takeout or picking it up, the food is always been fresh and flavorful. There are plenty of options to build your meal exactly how you like it. Had a hankering for some tacos so decided to stop at Tacroia for some lunch! The service was quick. I was in and out within 30 minutes during the lunch rush. The decor at all the Tacoria's are so stunning. Here there were plants hanging everywhere and I am here for it. They also have some light up letters hanging on the ceiling but did not get the chance to see what it spelled out. I got three different tacos with the chorizo one being my favorite then the pastor. The steak was meh to me. The habanero salsa or any one of their homemade salsa is a must on use of any one of your dishes. Looking forward to coming back and finding out the mystery saying on the ceiling while also getting more chorizo tacos. read more

Ordered the Quesadilla - Steak and SALAD - RAJAS (VEGGIE) which were phenomenal. Ordered at the counter using the self-serve kiosk. Grab a buzzer and wait for your dine-in or take-out order. I came here for a quick lunch bite. It was my first time at this location, and it's pretty spacious. I ordered the al pastor burrito, Mexican street corn, and a bottle of water. The buzzer went off signifying my food was ready in less than 10 minutes. The burrito was super filling, I could only eat half. The street corn was delicious, and the spicy aioli sauce complimented it well. I didn't care for 2 of the sauces I tried, but I did enjoy the guava and basil drink my love ordered. read more

I've been to Tacoria in the past (Paramus and Morristown) and I've always had a good experience. This location is no different. Staff was friendly, everything was clean, and the upbeat music makes it a fun casual spot to share a meal with friends or family. I ordered the mission style burrito with carne asada and chorizo. The chorizo is sliced so small that I could barely taste it, but the carne asada was very tender and juicy. Highly recommend choosing carne asada as your protein for anything you order here! read more

Went to tacoria after years and it was soo good! as a vegetarian i approve! it had plenty of options and varieties for vegetarian diet. The vibe and aesthetic was cute, cozy while feeling casual. the staff and service was friendly and helpful when ordering food. Also, checked in on us after while we were eating. overall, ambience plus the yummy tasty food made the experience 5 out of 5. will def go again! read more

Tacoria has hands down, the best tacos I have ever tried so far. Every time I come here I get the pollo asado tacos with chipotle aioli and everything on it. The chicken is well seasoned and juicy. The taco has a number of ingredients that are all fresh, tasty, and offer a good variety of textures. I like being able to add on the chipotle aioli to make the tacos a little spicy. The pollo asado salad is also delicious, fresh, and has a good portion size. The chips are a must at Tacoria. They're salty with a slight lime flavor and pair great with the various salsas the restaurant has out. My personal favorite salsa is the smokey roja - it's the perfect amount of spicy for my liking. On top of the amazing food, the employees here are also great and provide quick service. They're helpful during the ordering process if you've never been here before since you order via a screen. I never have to wait too long for my food either. On the inside of Tacoria, it's decorated well to match the Mexico theme and it makes for a cool dining experience. Tacoria is easily one of my favorite casual restaurants of all time. read more

Blown away with the food at Tacoria! This is such a hidden gem! I was expecting chipotle like but I received a way more authentic Mexican food experience. The chips are freshly made, thick and delicious! The tacos were MOUTHWATERING. I tried the chicken, carne asada and chorizo. The guac, horchata and street corn 10/10. Cannot believe I slept on Tacoria for so long, I will definitely be making this one a regular spot. Also the ambiance and service was 10/10 super friendly and good vibes. So I have come to the stock area now several times and I think my opinion of this place has improved overall, and it may now be my more favorite taqueria to visit. One of the big perks of this taqueria over the original New Brunswick location, which was my go-to for the longest time is parking. You are able to get parking here which makes ordering from here and picking up or coming in and sitting down way easier than the New Brunswick location. This location also has additional seating which is also very nice. The staff here is is super friendly and get your order together fairly quickly. The last two times I've ordered it has been a relatively short wait, I did not time them but I'm an impatient person and I was very satisfied with the amount of time it took to get my order. Which was enough food for two people with sides and dessert to put into perspective. A total of approximate five to six items each time. I really like the atmosphere in here as well. It's pretty hip. I feel like if I came here by myself I could bring my laptop and do some work while having a meal and it wouldn't be too bad. My go-to items here are still the El pastor tacos which are my favorite. The only thing I would say is ask for the extra tortilla shell because I hate when they fall apart when I eat them. All in all can't go wrong. Going to taqueria and the Piscataway location. So I've been here a couple of times and I am usually sitting around waiting for my wife to eat. Today I tried a burrito for the first time and it was delicious. The place is small but it's packed with a big vibe. The host was friendly and the food came out expeditiously. I can't say it's the best burrito because it's my first one but as of now this is the cake and the icing for me when it comes to the salads and burritos! read more
Very happy that this location opened up right by me. Honestly what else is there to say aside from they make great tacos, have really great hot sauces and the ingredients are pretty fresh. I love that they have options for everyone (omnivore, vegan). And I think they're really well priced. So far we have tried the tacos as well as the burritos and both are great. This is a casual place to visit when you want a meal that is guaranteed to pack flavor. If you're indecisive and need a quick meal in a pinch, this is a consistent place to go. The kiosks were the main place to order, although there were people to help service take out and pick up. I think the ingredients are flavorful. You can get a flavor packed vegan or vegetarian bowl for less than $14. My only complaint is that the bowl containers are not very deep so if you order many meat and veggie options you get a smaller portion of rice. read more
I used to eat Tacoria a lot when I was in college since I used to live near their Hoboken location. Now that I've moved, the Piscataway location is so much easier to get to. I love this location in specific because it's not too crowded and there's always a lot of parking in this complex. Tacoria is consistently good in my opinion, I'm a golden avocado burrito box regular. My family is vegan, so they get the golden avocado burrito box but vegan. This time I went, I also got some chips and guac with pico and I gave it to my parents to hold onto so I could grab my food. Within the 5 minutes, they called me asking me if I could buy more chips! I love the chips at Tacoria as well, they never taste stale and are rarely too salty. If you're ever in Central Jersey, I'd recommend coming to the Piscataway Tacoria over the New Brunswick one. The Piscataway one feels more roomy and you don't have to worry about parking. read more
The restaurant at this location seems clean as we walked in. Staff: The one girl in the pink shirt was extremely friendly and told us how to order on the machine if we were paying by card. The girl that was wearing a black shirt that day was rude. The girl in black called out my friends name twice and then he answered her and she said whatever. She needs to go back to training on her customer service skills. Fountain Soda: The soda from their fountain soda machine tasted watered down and just did not taste like any soda at all. Carne Asada Burrito: The portion is too small for the price that my friend paid for $11.25. The cheese tasted weird and it just was not worth the money. 3 Tacos: I got 3 tacos and the portion was so small for $13.25. These were definitely not worth the money and the cheese was like a powder. The steak was dry and was tasteless. The chicken tasted good but there was not enough sauce on it. These tacos look as if they were being cheap with their items. Overall: The food was not that great here as the portions looked as if they were being cheap. The price we paid was not worth the money and to be treated rudely. The customer service was horrible at this location and we will not return here. read more
