We ordered beef birria tacos with cheese, a birria bowl, Mexican street corn esquites, and two passion fruit juices. There is only chicken and beef, and as a person who only eats halal it made me soooo happy. I didn't have to worry about there being a ton of pork on the menu! I love a restaurant that focuses on one kind of food and does it perfectly. The menu at Birria Kitchen is small and I applaud that! I've eaten in here multiple times and gotten takeout just as many times. Customers order and pay at the counter and can get bottled beverages from the refrigerator case. I'm happy that the restaurant offers Starbucks bottled drinks. The flavors in all the tacos are satisfying and the portions are good. I usually get a Mexican street corn along with my tacos. Place was decent, more of in a hidden away location and I didn't know this existed in Edison. The store is decently sized and very organized. The one thing I didn't like was that how cold it was inside the actual restaurant, I did bring a jacket but still felt like it was too windy with too many fans on. You order upfront and then sit at the tables and the waitress brings your food, services is decent and the staff cleans right after the customers leaves. Now time for the food, I've had plenty of tacos and I feel like these are decent, taste way better with the spicy green sauce. My husband got the burrito and said it was average. Getting there wasn't hard, the parking lot is a little small and is shared with other food spots, so I imagine this would get packed real quick. This place offers the birria with cheese, which I know a lot of people are torn over, but I really enjoy it with the cheese. Most dishes come with a side of consome to dip your tacos in--so savory and delicious! The tacos come with the normal lime, onions, and cilantro. They offer other bites and the jarritos drinks that I normally get at Mexican spots. I want to go back for the ramen, churros, and birria fries--literally all of my favorite foods. I ended up taking home some of the consome and making my own birria steak ramen at home. Highly recommend if you can a chance to try this place. I was able to have 2 chicken and 2 beef. The way they cook them is so savory and the dipping sauce that it comes with, will make you smile and your tummy will be doing a happy dance. They claim you can sip their sauce after you finish their tacos and dang it, they were right! I also enjoyed their Elote "Mexican Street Corn" with hot Cheetos which is basically the best corn on the cob smothered in a hot buttery sauce with a thick coating of flaming hot Cheetos. Am I going to spoil my calories and enjoy this? You betcha! Do yourself a favor and just order these. You will be smacking your lips and licking your fingers as you eat this. And one of many unfortunate days before I found myself too busy at work to stop for lunch and myself at about 3:00 p.m. haven't eaten since 7:00. And needing to stop for food. Loving. Tacos and seeing the name of this place it seemed like it would be a great fit to treat myself for lunch. I was driving home and it was on my way and there was a fair amount of traffic which felt like a good reason to stop. When I went inside there were two other guests dining. I walked straight up to the counter and ordered some tacos from the woman there. She was friendly and got what I ordered together fairly quickly. I was told I could sit wherever I want and she brought over my tacos shortly thereafter. Play came with three tacos and a bowl of the burial sauce. The sauce was so good that after I had finished my tacos it still had some left. I spent a good couple minutes contemplating if it would be rude to drink the broth. Figuring that it was more of a broth than a salsa and it was delicious. Would be a shame to go to waste. I sipped the leftover broth my content. Since coming here the first time I have often thought about coming back and who I would want to bring. It is fairly unusual for me to fantasy about coming back to a food place and bringing friends here so we can share the experience.
