Asada vampiro- BOGO DEAL ON POSTMATES

This is the third time I've had them and every time has been just ok. Not sure what it is, not enough salt/flavor? I ordered through Postmates and they had some BOGO DEALS. I went with the steak breakfast burrito - asada, eggs, cheese, refried beans, onions and cilantro. It was supposed to come with MACHA CREMA But they forgot to include it. Maybe this is what the burrito was missing. It was fine but a little bland. The best thing on the vampiro is the crispy cheese skirt but the tostadas themselves were stale. Throws off the whole taste and texture of the meal. Maybe it's a better experience in person/eating in, but ordering out is a hit or miss.

The food was prepared to order, the staff was friendly, our food came out quickly, and I had a combo #1 with al pastor meat. Tacos are a good size, single tortilla, the meat was tender but nothing to be excited about. Their salsa bar is small but with a good variety of flavors and levels of spicy. Very casual ambiance but expensive for what you get

I have been searching for tacos that remind me of the famous Los Tacos No. 1 from New York City. I would say this is the closest taste and atmosphere that it reminds me of. I came here twice and my first experience was great. I ordered the #1 Taco Combo which included two tacos with salsa & guac, rice, and i got a bottled drink. The tacos were excellent, shoutout to the night employee that stuffed our tacos on 2/25. During my second visit last nite, the tacos were still good however there was very little meat and toppings... I was so excited to try it again but it seems like there's an inconsistency in portions. I love red rice but their rice here is not it lol. It's very very dry and they do not fill the cup (see photo attached). When I came in last nite, the interior was filthy and the condiment area. It seems like there's not much staff working? I really enjoy the tacos, i would say it's my favorite right now in LA but it's the cleanliness and inconsistent portions is why i only rate it 4 stars. *parking is annoying, only street but shared with plenty of other food establishments

Walked in for a late dinner. I tried all 3 meat options for tacos. They come with guac by default which is nice. They were all served on corn tortilla and were decent size. I had high expectations for the al pastor, but it was just ok. The carne asada tacos were really good though.

Food: the Adobada Taco (Pork Al Pastor), Carne Asada Taco (Grilled Steak), Pollo Asado Taco (Grilled Chicken) & Hongo Taco (Mushroom) were all so very tasty with the onions, salsa, melted cheese, cilantro, salsa verde!!! I love the hand-made corn tortillas!!! Service: freshly made-to-order service; the owner is so friendly and kind!!! Design: interiors is simple with counter seating against the walls and one in the middle; exterior counter seating as well Overall: if you want great, authentic, mouth-watering tacos, then this is a must try!!!

We love Tacos 1986, especially the one in Burbank where we are always greeted warmly by Claudia and get big smile and hello from Benjamin who makes the perfect Quesadilla Tacos for us. As they have breakfast now, I tried the Carne Asada breakfast. Wow. One of the best in LA.

What first caught my eye was the simplicity and boldness of the logo--it's clean, eye-catching, and the name itself is intriguing enough to make you want to step inside and see what it's all about. Now, a heads-up: parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially on a busy day. There's no dedicated lot, so parallel parking is your best bet. I wouldn't recommend ignoring any posted signs--it's not worth the ticket. Once you're inside, the place is clean and well-kept. Seating is either bar stools or standing, so it's more of a quick, casual spot than a sit-down kind of place. They've got a self-serve soda setup with the ice stored separately in a cooler next to the dispenser. The syrup quality was solid, and the ice tasted clean--always a good sign when eating out. There's also a salsa bar with a pretty impressive range--from mild to "why did I do this?" My favorite by far was the green salsa. I swear, I could eat that stuff on top of an old tennis shoe--it was that good. Tangy, flavorful, and just the right amount of heat. The menu covers the usual suspects--tacos, burritos, and quesadillas--but they've also got some specialties, like the tacos perrones I ordered. It's a flour tortilla layered with melted cheese, your choice of protein, pinto beans, guacamole, onions, and cilantro. I got it as a combo with rice, beans, and a drink, and the price was honestly a steal. The tacos were solid--you could taste each element as you chewed, which I appreciated. The only downside was the meat being a bit on the tough side and not as juicy as I'd hoped. That said, the staff was super helpful and attentive, and overall, the quality of ingredients and value for the price definitely make me want to come back.

Not long ago, we had some amazing tacos at the Beverly Hills location, so we wanted to give the Burbank location a try as well. Even though we had already eaten quite a few snacks earlier that day and weren't very hungry, we were still curious to see how this location compared. My mom really wanted to order the shrimp taco because she remembered how much she had enjoyed it before. However, the menu indicated that it was spicy. So, I asked if they could make it non-spicy or serve the spicy sauce on the side instead, but he explained that the taco is prepared with the spice already included, so they weren't able to do that. We then asked if they had any other seafood tacos. That's when we found out they had a ceviche taco as the special of the day, so we ordered two of those. The ceviche was fresh and flavorful, although it was a little saltier than we expected. Even so, every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly. The employee who took our order especially stood out. He was genuinely kind and welcoming from beginning to end. While I was eating, I realized the ceviche taco was much larger than I expected, and I got full before I could finish it. I asked for a to-go box, but I couldn't figure out how to close the lid. The employee immediately helped me close it with a smile. They were just as friendly during the ordering process as they were afterward, and their excellent customer service really made our visit enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try some of their other tacos in the future.

Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!

We got six tacos between the asada and al pastor, plus a queso burrito with asada. Everything was really good. My fiancée noticed that they were making the tortillas by hand right there, which was a nice touch and definitely made a difference. I especially liked the al pastor, and the queso burrito was really good too and pretty filling. I also liked that they actually have a big menu with the prices clearly posted. Not every taco stand makes the pricing that easy to see. The tacos were $3.25 each and the queso burrito was $13.50. Our total was $36.22 after tax. I will say the tacos are a little pricier than what we're personally used to. At some of the taco stands we normally go to, we're used to paying around $2 to $3 per taco, so $3.25 stood out a little. That said, the food was good enough that I didn't feel disappointed with what we paid. The only other small thing was the salsa. They ask if you want everything on the tacos and put the salsa on for you, while we're more used to taco stands giving you salsa on the side at the end. I'm sure you can ask for some separately, but since we were taking everything home and didn't ask, I just used some salsa we already had. Not really a complaint, just something I'd remember next time. Overall, we really liked the food and would come back. Since we're still trying different taco stands around the area, we'll probably keep exploring too, but Angel's was a good first stop.
