I've been trying to hit up new spots for breakfast and this weekend was the moment for Habanero Mexican Grill! I like that it's a classic walk up to order set up and the menu does have pictures. My boyfriend and I shared a breakfast burrito and huevos ranchero and they were both great!! The service was nice and the worker brought our food out to one of the tables for us. A friend of mine says she frequents the drive thru, which is another cool option. The food was great! The salsas were good. Definitely worth a try!

I can't believe I haven't ordered from Habanero Mexican Grill more often!!! Placed a phone order, person was great, and during pick up amazing customer service! Now let's talk about the food!!! Flavors on point! Ordered fish taco plate, shrimp plate, tacos al pastor, chicken tacos, and as an appetizer their nachos! The appetizer alone was a good amount and the beans, guacamole, sour cream, cilantro and onion gave it such a delicious flavor! Good amount of food to enjoy the Mexico vs. Korea game!

We found this place on Yelp and decided to check it out because of its impressive 4.7-star rating. I'm glad we did! The Mexican food was excellent, and the staff made the experience even better. The gentleman who welcomed (Juan) us was friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. The place was clean, and you can either sit outside or take your food to go. As for the food, I give it 5 stars. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this place.

First thing I like it was Juan hospitality and good customer service from beginning, he helped us with the menu items, great food best in town I'll try the breakfast menu this weekend for sure, clean kitchen and good service and the main delicious food I recommend to everyone come try it.

Living in the area, I've made the breakfast burrito rounds around town. I happened to be nearby Habanero and decided to stop in again after a long while. I was reminded again why this is one of the better breakfast burritos for me. The beans! The burrito is made to order and packed with the standard items, potatoes, cheese, eggs and choice of meat, but what differentiates it from the rest (for me) is the beans . Additionally a comment about the sauces, I like heat, but when it comes to adding flavor I prefer the green sauce.

I finally tried Habanero. Owners Edith and Luis are in my Facebook group "Burbank Restaurant Support." I met Luis, he was very nice when we accidentally walked inside (it's a takeout place with patio tables outside, no dining room). We got quite a bit of food, but service was fast since we were the only ones there about 2pm. My friend like her street taco combo. The spicy red salsa is pretty hot, so beware. I'll try the mild next time. It's nice to get pickled carrots and whole peppers, a nice freebie over most Mexican fast food places. I got the carne asada nachos and it was enough for 2 meals. Loaded with meat, beans, cheese, guac, sour cream. I forgot this, and will order differently next time - I like chips, meat, and cheese like Rigoberto's or Alberto's in Placentia used to make. Massive amount of meat for $11 about 20 years ago. But I digress. I also had to eat the carnitas burrito the next day, it's huge. Perfect blend of carnitas, rice, onions, cilantro, and green sauce. I should have added cheese, but forgot. Very tasty! Carnitas was crispy. Take out, we got 3 bags of chips and plenty of salsa, so I had leftover salsa. I like that they make the chips, another plus over most fast food places. Looking forward to trying more of the menu, large selection.

THIS IS THE MEXICAN PLACE I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOR. Habanero is a hidden gem. The place is small, cute and unassuming but do not be fooled! This is serious fresh, authentic, and perfectly flavored food (not salty or greasy.) My husband and I agree that Habanero is better than most sit down Mexican places in the areas, plus the service is top notch. Also as a toddler mom, the drive thru is SO convenient. I hope this place stays in business for a long long time. Grande Macho Burrito is a BEAST. When I opened my to go box I was shocked by its size. It could easily be 2 or 3 meals, and the carne asada is flavorful and juicy. If you're looking for warm cozy Mexican food, this is it. We've also tried the carnitas burrito, California burrito and carne asada plate. The regular burritos were underwhelming compared to the grande macho burrito, but still great. Would highly recommend the carne asada here. As soon as I had their food I told everyone in the neighborhood about it because I HOPE IT STAYS IN BUSINESS!!! Seriously go check it out you won't be disappointed!!

    Pollo, asada, and pastor tacos

This place deserves its rating! Some of the best tacos I've had in some time. Will definitely return. The server was super friendly as well. Great green salsa, spicy red salsa, and the pastor and asada were my favorites.

We have been here before but tonight I told them I was overdue to write a review. Our food was delicious, as always. The staff is always polite and the food is prepared quick. The price is very good! Let's keep this gem busy. Fabulous Mexican food with great convenience!! Go--or go back!

Fresh, fast and freaking delicious! I moved to the area a few months ago, and this is a weekly stop for me! I normally go for the #7 with al pastor tacos. It's fantastic! Customer service is always so friendly and respectful!

They have a drive thru which off the bat is a major plus. Always looking for a solid breakfast burrito and I WILL definitely be coming back when the BB cravings hit. I ordered the Bacon Breakfast Burrito ($13) and it came with loads of crispy bacon bits, beans, cheese, eggs, and diced potatoes. The beans tasted fresh and didn't have the gross canned taste and dry texture... like they have been heated up time and time again. The gave a green mild salsa that had a good taste and a spicy red one. I enjoyed both. The burrito was very filling and I am not heading towards a food coma. I would like to try the MACHACA Breakfast burrito next which comes with shredded beef, tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños. All and all, no complaints here.

When i got home, I realized the shrimp was sitting in a greasy pool of garlic-laden oil, which leaked all over everything. Thank God they use a plastic bag; otherwise, that garlic mess would have been all over my car. The beans were so salty & weird tasting (the worst ever), I think the chef must have been in the Mortons family. The rice was okay, but had no flavor at all, so my doggies will love it in their food tomorrow. The chips, which are now in the bin, were completely tasteless. They don't include tortillas(?), so I paid for an order of them, but they had so much grease on them from the pool of oil that leaked, I had to throw them out. The only thing I rescued from this expensive meal was the shrimp. I pulled them from the greasy garlic pool and am planning to rinse them off tomorrow and put lemon on them. Hopefully they will be edible. The young gentleman who got my order ready was a sweetheart, so I will say one nice thing. After the overwhelming garlic smell, the mess I had to clean up because of all of that leaked oil and my disgust with the waste of money, I ended up having watermelon at home for dinner.

Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..

We waited about 45 minutes for a table, which honestly wasn't a problem at all. They're located in a plaza with parking, and there's also plenty of street parking nearby. First, let's talk about the Café de Olla. We ordered two, and WOW. It's their signature coffee, brewed with cinnamon, raw Mexican brown sugar, and spices. We normally drink our coffee black, but this was easily one of the best coffees I've ever had. Seriously, do not skip the coffee here! For breakfast, we ordered two dishes and shared everything. We had the Breakfast Skillet, loaded with country potatoes, eggs, bell peppers, mozzarella, fresh avocado, and ranchero sauce. We also ordered the Chilaquiles à la Bandera -- crispy tortilla chips with half tossed in their green salsa and the other half in red salsa, topped with mozzarella, Mexican cream, Cotija cheese, and eggs. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. And because we needed something sweet, we added the Crunchy French Toast Sticks, drizzled with caramel and Lechera. SO GOOD and the perfect sweet addition to our breakfast. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves! The service deserves its own mention. Our server, Liliana, was an absolute doll! She was so sweet, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She helped us decide what to order based on her own favorites and recommendations, and everything she suggested was spot on. Our Café de Olla came out within probably a minute of ordering, and once we placed our food order, I don't think we waited more than five minutes. Considering how packed the restaurant was, we were seriously impressed. Liliana definitely made our first visit even better! Everything was perfect -- the food, the coffee, and especially the service. Definitely recommend Mex Cocina Cafe for breakfast or brunch. We will 100% be back. We really enjoyed our lunch here. The place is situated right next to the equestrian center for Griffith park, and has a fun ranch vibe, from the look of the area to the outside of the restaurant, and you really get the vibe once you step inside. This place looks like the old west in the best way, complete with wagon wheels for the light fixtures and a killer bar area. It's really something you have to see yourself. So it's safe to say my wife and I were awed with the vibe of the place. I will say we were pretty hungry when we came in, and did hope they were going to drop some chips and salsa on the table, like most Mexican sit down spots do. However, that was not to be. The chips and salsa are extra. That was our only disappointment of the afternoon, as it was otherwise a fantastic experience. We tried the cochinita pibil, a shrimp taco, and the fajitas. They were all excellent, but man I'm still dreaming about the cochinita pibil. What full flavor, with a terrific sauce...both the plates came with cilantro rice, tortillas, and black beans, which made for an excellent combo. We will be coming back - hopefully for their taco Tuesday when my family comes to town next month!
