It was the worst Mexican food we ever tasted. My husband had the steak tacos, beans and rice, and I had the chicken enchiladas, and chicken taco, refried beans, and rice,and salad ( 2 Tablespoons of lettuce). We also had the guc. and chips. I love this place. They have taco Wednesday, but every day has great deals. They have a salsa extremely hot.... And it is. Most places wouldn't dare make a salsa so hot your beer would make it hotter. The food is fresh and fast. They sell IPA beer so that's a plus for me. Inexpensive, fresh, fast, quality food. I ate here about a week ago after getting a haircut next door. They have a salsa bar with a few different types of salsa ranging from mild to hot. The salsa actually has a really good flavor and its great with chips. I ordered a couple of tacos and rice/beans. It was pretty tasty. In my opinion, Tacos & Co is a welcome addition to Ladera Ranch. I've eaten here a few times and waited to write my review until I had tried more options. I've had burritos, enchiladas, gringo tacos, guac, chips, and salsa. The staff has been friendly and helpful. The food tastes fresh and the presentation is nice (no slop). My favorite is the Burrito Newport that comes with a side of chips. The size is at least as large as Chipotle, without skimping on the meat. It could use a little more seasoning, but the price is right. They also have happy hour every day, which is a nice perk. Most happy hour menu items are $1.00. I didn't give a full five stars because the restaurant decor lacks a little personality and seems to be more favored to take out. If they revamped the interior, it could be a cozy place to go for good food. read more

My first time here was on a GroupOn so I expected it to be okay. But it was pretty darn good. I have gone back numerous times. What really impressed me was they were 2 minutes from closing. The chairs were up on the tables, etc. The kitchen staff asked me what I wanted and still made it 100% complete and beyond tasty. This is a true place that knows the value of customer service and how to treat their customers. Some of the other places here in Ladera can learn a thing or two from this place. My husband and I have been going to Tacos&Co for years and have always been impressed with the food, ambiance, cleanliness and friendly staff... sometimes eating there 2-3 times a week! Don't know why, but in the last 6 months things have changed dramatically. Dirty dishes on the trashcan greet you when you walk in, tables are disgusting, the food is terrible, and the salsa bar bins are consistently empty... all of this while the cashier leaves his post to watch TV by the kitchen. After giving Tacos&Co many chances, this week we sadly have to give up on the spot because our fish tacos were uncooked! Just can't take anymore. I know they changed ownership a few years ago, but they seemed to continue to go strong with the new owners. Not sure why there has been such a decline in the last few months. I ordered a carne asada burrito. The meat tasted old, was tough and chewy. The lettuce in the burrito also tasted old and was wilted and soggy. Nope! Won't be going back here again. Ordered the Newport Burrito specifically because it had grilled veggies and I wanted grilled veggies. Guess what was missing? If I wanted a chicken rice and bean burrito I would have ordered that and probably saved some money. My daughter ordered chicken taquitos. Bland, dry, greasy.The salsa bar could have added another star if the salsa was actually good. I tried 6 different varieties and I would say one or two were worth another try. I did expect this place to be alot better, it's very hard to find good Mexican food in ladera ranch. With that being said, the shrimp tacos are very good, and the Carne Asad a tacos are decent. The chicken tacos taste burnt and the carnitas lack flavor and are dry. There are some things that are good here but overall this place is just ok. read more

We had a Groupon (seems like almost every reviewer had discount of some sort) so value was good. My teenage and pre-teens sons ate their entire meals (carnitas burrito, chicken taquitos & Al pastor soft tacos). I had veggie burrito which was rice, beans and cheese with maybe five pieces of grilled bell pepper in it. But wouldn't really expect a decent veggie entree at a small, independent taco shop - you go there for a cheap meal with meat, beans and rice. This place is seriously a disgrace to Mexican food in California. I ordered my meal through UberEats and the delivery was great but the food was terrible. I ordered the crispy tacos with carnitas which was suppose to have carnitas, lettuce cheese and tomato. The carnitas tasted like it was boiled and no flavor whatsoever. The taco shells were stale and tasted like they had been made the day before and looked like the ones you buy at the grocery store, and trust me those even taste better. I also ordered pinto beans and rice on the side and asked for cheese on my beans. There was maybe a sprinkle of cheese and the beans were the most bland beans I have ever had. They looked like re-fried beans but sure did not taste like good re-fried beans. The ones out of the can at the grocery store tasted better. The taco shells were stale and as i bit into it, i wished i had gone to taco bell, as bad as it is for you at least TB has flavor. The quesadilla was the only edible thing, though it was only about a centimeter thick, it still tasted fine but then again how do you really muck up a quesadilla. The enchilada was the WORST. it had a very strange taste and was about 5 inches long, it TOTALLY looked and reminded me of a frozen enchilada dinner, or airplane enchiladas. AND to add insult to injury they stuck the enchilada right on top of the beans so that i couldnt even give it to my boyfriend like i did the taco because he hates beans. Sad to say, one of my used to be much loved fall backs for fast good Mexican has seriously failed me for the last time. I have verified they are under new management and I think there's a reason they didn't announce it. Happy hour prices went up and quality and service went down. Not even a Groupon could save this place now! Enchilada verde sauce is clumpy, corn tortillas taste old, steak is all fatty and chips are definitely out of a bag now! You know it's bad when your hungry kids tell you they're aren't hungry any more after just 1 bite of rice. OMG! The rice tasted like it was left on a counter in an open container for a week! I spit it out. As we were leaving, I went up to get a refill of soda, since that was apparently all we were getting for dinner, and a lady was returning her to go order saying how disgusted she was. She said she was embarrassed, but I let her know ours was horrible as well. The guy at the counter was right there listening to our whole conversation and he never even said so much as a sorry. As I was leaving, I heard another customer take her food back up as well complaining she wouldn't let her dog eat this s#%*. Did I mention the kid that looked about 10 years old working in the kitchen?! Really?! Don't do that to a 10 year old, he'll never have friends working in a place with the rep it's working hard on getting. Even if someone begged me to return, and offered my whole family a free meal, I'd have to pass. Sad, but I'll never go back. If someone's looking to rent a space in Ladera, this one should be coming available soon. My family came here and ordered 1 gordo burrito and 1 big boy burrito both with asada and my 3 kids had quesadillas with rice no beans. When the food came out, my 2 kids food came with beans no rice which I told our waiter, that these were wrong and he proceeded to tell me that I would have to pay more for rice. I told him nicely that beans was not what I ordered only rice no beans that he messed our order up. He then said well I have to ask if that's okay Mind you We did not take a bite and he was at the table handing out the food, He came back and said he would fix it. Well the quesadillas came back burnt! Then my burrito and my husbands came out his was GREAT! Mine on the other hand was HORRIBLE!!! They put this gross ass Lamb/Goat smelly Mexican cheese in my burrito. It only said beans rice asada cheese and I was thinking chedder or jack. They should have stated what cheese. I guess it was my fault for not asking well only after my 1st bite did I notice the FOUL taste that stuck to my taste buds and I tried my best not to lose my lunch right on the table. I kindly had my husband ask them what was in it because that was not cheese. He stated it had Mexican cheese. My husband told him that I nearly threw up after tasting it and he asked if I could have a new burrito without that kind of cheese but with Jack or chedder cheese. The waiter/cashier then told my husband "NO I WOULD HAVE TO ORDER A NEW BURRITO AND PAY FOR IT!!' What kind of restaurant does that if a customer is not satisfied. He said that I ate some of it and I told him yeah I took one bite how else would I know what was in it? Politely mind you. I was FURIOUS I almost all about lost it in front of my family! The chips tasted like stale ass chips left out for the mice to chew wait. scratch that mice would not even eat that! The guac was okay. Everything else was Bland terrible. My mother in law ordered the tacos, they tasted like stale store bought taco shells. I could have gone to an actual restaurant and paid the same. I paid $45.00 for my food. Yet MY $9.00 burrito was not refunded or made new to my liking is JACKED UP!!! I would never come to this place again. I hope Ladera Ranch starts boycotting this place. How can people eat such rancid and stale food? Heck I went to AMPM and had their cheezy ass burgers just to get the taste out my mouth.
