The team is so attentive and kind here! But, no, I cannot imagine returning when there are more exceptional offerings across the region and, I dare say, better options in San Diego. I know that sounds like a harsh insult. The tacos are must meh. There is nothing spectacular about the tortillas, the fish batter was just OK and the fish was a bit smallish. The consume was also just OK. No concerns with freshness at all, just a general sense that the flavor profile was terribly lacking. It's a nice spot, though, on the corner with ample street parking. It is comfortable and cozy inside, with a wraparound outdoor patio. And the team is pretty strict about COVID-19 compliance. They meet you outside for temperature checks and to splash you with hand sanitizer. I appreciated that. But, no, I do not see myself returning. Yes, it is inexpensive -- but so are so many other places. Yes, the serving sizes are great -- but the quality overall just doesn't make it. But give them a try. Honestly. We come down to Rosarito 4 or 5 times a year, and are fortunate enough to stay just around the corner from this place. We absolutely plan our eating schedule around getting to Tacos Baja Jr once or twice per visit. Their Quesarons are so very good (like a taco with melted cheese and shrimp, I guess?), and we also love their fried shrimp tacos, and my wife loves their ceviche and aguachile. They are reasonably priced and tasty, and we are super lucky to have them within walking distance of where we stay. Only caution is that they close early, so better to plan for lunch here than dinner. read more

Stopped here to try out the fish tacos primarily. Both my husband and I decided to order the shrimp ceviche tostada too. The place was clean and our server was courteous and quick to bring our food and to keep our plates cleared when we were done. Sadly the shrimp tostadas were smaller than expected. The overall flavor was fresh, but a saltier than what I prefer. The taco was also on the below average range. The tortillas were clearly from a packaged brand and dry. They did have a good selection of freshly cut onions, cilantro, limes and prepared onions brought to the table to add to the taco. DELICIOUS tacos! Tacos Baja Jr has some of the BEST TACOS around and this was an excellent choice when traveling in Baja, Mexico! It was pretty busy when we arrived and we were seated outside next to the parked vehicles. PESCADO (fish)- A very tasty deep fried white fish with cabbage and chopped tomatoes and cilantros while wrapped in a tortilla. Each taco had the same combination of chopped vegetables with the only difference being the meat. PESCADO A LA PLANCHA (grilled fish)- The grilled fish was good but I personally enjoyed its breaded deep fried cousins more. There weren't a whole lot of fish in this taco though. CAMARÓN (shrimp)- Possibly my favorite of the trio of fish tacos. The shrimp was deep fried to perfection and a very satisfying meal! SOPES PENÍNSULA TOSTADOS- The tostados were small flat deep fried cakes created from the same masa dough used in tortillas. Chopped cabbage, tomato, onions, and cilantros sprinkled the top. They were quite good! COCTELES DE CAMARÓN (shrimp cocktail)- The shrimp cocktail was surrounded by slices of avocado, chopped onions, fresh cilantros, and tomato juice. The flavors were wonderful and the shrimp was fresh and delicious! The chips and guacamole were great too! The server was accommodating and spoke English well. Tacos here were delicious but the ceviche was beyond expectations. The place is small but has a great arrangement which it feels quite open. There is parking right in front of the shop. I'm always looking for good seafood wherever I go. I was heading to Valle de Guadalupe and wanted to do a pit stop in Rosarito for some good seafood. Parking in Rosarito was a nightmare so I decided to keep driving. Yelped seafood and the ratings got me to stop. The service is great, they continue to check on you to ensure your well taken care of. I tried the shrimp taco with corn tortilla, it had really good flavor, added the green sauce and it was so good, the downside was that the tortilla fell apart. I did over hear someone ask for double tortilla. I tried the grilled fish taco and it lacked flavor, I wouldn't order it. Savings the best for last, the shrimp cocktail was AMAZING! It had burst of flavor I would definitely come back and just order that! Their homemade Chile sauces are so good, but beware they are spicy! We happened to drive by this place on Independence Day on our way home from an event. It was very busy everywhere, but we were able to find a table right away here. I liked that you could choose from corn or flour tortillas. I had two different types of fish tacos...which I totally can't remember right now, but they were both pretty good. I think one of them was the California tacos, which had a few toppings. It was excellent! The other was literally just a piece of fish, but it was pretty good too. The only vegetarian option they had was a quesadilla, which made my boys sad. And it was tiny. So, if you have kids and you order a quesadilla, you might want to order two as they are super, super small. Thankfully, we also ordered guacamole. They gave us a TON of guac. This is probably the best fish taco I've ever had in Baja. There Cocktail De Cameron was very fresh and refreshing. But the best was hands down the Quesaron. This place says it's the "La Casa Del Autentico Quesaron" and they are not playing around it's fantastic. Even If you don't like shrimp this taco is great. My nephew had half of one and he hates shrimp, but he told me that was the best thing he'd ever had here. This place is clean, fast, inexpensive, and on point. I think everything we've had there has been tasty and very reasonably priced, but our favorite by far is the Quesarones---a cross between a quesadilla and a shrimp taco (picture attached). Based on our first two visits, I would have rated this place a solid 5 stars plus. We had the tacos California and shrimp cocktail our first visit and they were so good, we returned a couple of days later and again really enjoyed the food and the friendly service and the reasonable prices. This was awesome. We were able to walk here from La Paloma, and it was worth the short stroll. This taco shop is all about seafood tacos. Fish tacos, shrimp tacos, octopus, marlin, etc. Grilled or fried. Corn or flour tortillas. Plenty of options, as long as you like seafood. And we sure did. I think my favorite was the Taco Baja, which had grilled fish, grilled green bell peppers, and something else too - I forget because what was most amazing was how yummy it was to eat. The "regular" fish taco was awesome, too. No one in our group got a taco we didn't like. Two to three tacos seemed to do the trick for everyone. We got drinks too - loved the fruit drinks (Tamarind! Limonade!) that are put into the restaurants own bottles. The total for all five of us was about 550 pesos - 27$, give or take, which we thought was a great deal. If you stick with just the fish tacos, you could eat here for even less. We would definitely eat here again for the fish tacos. For beef/pork/chicken tacos, we'll head back to Tacos Manuel in town, which was fantastic as well. read more
