We needed to run to the grocery store, so we took the opportunity to grab a bite to eat at El Sabroso Danny selected the Adobada Burrito (2 meals in 1) ! Oh man, it was chock full of delectable meat. To go along with that, it also had rice, black beans, guacamole and salsa. Those burritos are just too big for me, so I decided on the Adobada Taco and the Carne Asada Taco. The tacos are made with double tortilla, to hold all of plentiful grilled meats, topped with onions, cilantro & guacamole. Yummmmmmmmm. Oh my goodness the enchilada tacos are absolutely incredible. I love Mexican food. I'm half Latin and grew up with the real stuff, and I've learned to appreciate the various styles and cultural influences of Mexican cuisine. In other words, I don't tend to think any of it is ever bad, but instead, I take it as it is, and reflect on where/what that particular dish was inspired from. The food here, is not typical. It's amazingly good. If I hadn't tried this, but had heard how good it was, I would say I need to add this to my bucket list. Enchilada tacos are just that good. The place is self is a charming shack of a restaurant with only a few tables. I think that adds to the experience. It's a simple shack in a parking lot with absolutely phenomenal food. Fresh and delicious. It's me of my favorite go to Mexican food places. and probably will be in the future.

This place is about a mile or so north of the hotel zone next to a large gas station. It reminds me how the road used to be heading down to Baja 35 years or so ago, with random taco stands here and there serving up the best to be had. El Sabroso is like this, but is quite a permanent fixture. There is bar type seating, inside tables, and outside ones. It really is all pretty much outside though. They deliver the tacos to your table, along with a large molcajete full of wonderful red salsa. The fillings are ample, and the prices are cheap by any standard. We tried the pastor and shrimp tacos. The pastor, or adobada, was delicious with nice crispy bits and lots of guac. The shrimp tacos need their own description, as they really are different. First off, I went there for their fried fish baja tacos. This day they had no fried fish or shrimp. Quite bummed out about that, I reduce a star! Take that! Now here is this shrimp taco. They take a corn tortilla, a full sized one, put it on the grill, cover it with some cheese, top that with another tortilla, top that with cheese and large shrimp in a spicy red sauce, and add some crema to that. What you end up with is a crispy bottom shell, so you can eat it like a tostada, and a softer upper one. You can still fold the whole thing, but it crackles in protest. These things shouldn't work together, but they do. The taco is impressively tasty and surprising. I'm still sad about not having a decent baja fish taco in Baja, but I won't forget this dingy roadside dive making by tastebuds very happy. I did bring a few giant breakfast burritos back to the house for my kids, and they loved those. Cheap cheap cheap, and quite good. Venture out of the hotel zone and pop in here for some good food and live music. Yes, they had a pair of pop up guitar players singing while we ate. read more

Every one of my friends that comes from California I take there and they love it! The garlic butter shrimp tacos are awesome and the fish tacos, no need to go to Ensenada! I love their chorizo I eat that a lot the burritos he makes me with egg and chorizo onion & cilantro are amazing! I recently had is chilaquiles and he makes them anyway you like and it was so delicious! They make awesome hot fries they are one of my favorites here in Rosarito! So far everything I try is so so good! They make amazing salsas and one with chunks of avocados it is delicious! Their Mexican rice is delicious and my friend Denise cannot get enough of their rice and beans and she loves his flautas akaTaquitos she says it's the best she has ever had! My daughters were getting tired of tacos everyday, so I came here for some variety (and also so I could get some tacos.!) Everything here was solid. My youngest got the "flautas," which turned out to be what I would call "taquitos." They had cheese, lettuce, crema and guacamole. My oldest got carne asada fries and they were piled high with lots of fixings. She was happy. Wifey got a breakfast burrito and it was good, but it needed some brightness, so we asked for a side of pico de gallo. Next time I would get it with guacamole. I had fried shrimp tacos and carne asada tacos, which were both very good. They provided roasted green salsa for the table, too, which was nice. After reading some of the other reviews, I'm kicking myself for not trying the spicy shrimp taco. read more

Honestly the best tacos I've ever had; the spicy shrimp tacos in particular were fantastic but I'd definitely recommend trying an assortment. All their food was great, but the tacos were the standout. I came here with some friends and after finding this place we ate here exclusively for every meal for the last 3 days we were in town. The staff was incredibly friendly, the waiters spoke enough English to joke around with us, and one of the owners even stopped by to introduce herself and see how we were doing. I hit this place up because of other Yelp reviews. I needed shrimp for a change instead of the meat that is at all the other taquerias. And you all are right... these are SO good. I didn't try their other tacos, which are only 17 pesos. The shrimp tacos are 45 pesos... quite a bit more expensive. But in early 2016, that's just a little over $2 US each, so still very cheap for shrimp! I went back the next morning, but they were only serving breakfast, so I had eggs and bacon, which was also very good. I don't think they serve alcohol. They only have 3 tables, or sit at the counter. You can miss this place from the street, as the tables and main counter are sort of in the parking lot. read more

El Sabroso is an amazing little taco shop between Quintas del Sol and Smart and Final across from the fairgrounds. You'll spot the red and yellow building nestled into a parking lot in front of Jake's Sports Bar and right next to the Pemex station. Okay, on to the good stuff. Raul and Rosie are the amazing owners of this establishment, and it's obvious from the start that they're only interested in ensuring you have a good experience. Raul is a wizard on the grill, and while it's difficult to pick a favorite, I'd have to say the shrimp tacos are the best I've ever had. That said, I've had nearly everything on the menu (and a lot of things that aren't on the menu) and I've yet to have something that wasn't delicious. Rosie is the customer service arm of the shop and she's equally impressive at what she does, which is a mixture of just about everything.
