Had the super torta with asada! So tasty! Huge portions! Bring your appetite! Attentive and fast staff. Free salsa & chip bar!

We had a delicious dinner served by a friendly guy. Restaurant was clean, self-serve chips and salsa were great. Agua fresca flavors were fresh and the overall feel was comfortable and warm. We ate tacos: Al pastor, chicken and a birria quesataco. The tacos come with a generous scoop of guacamole on top. It's amazing if you love guac (which we do!) and the quesataco is a quesadilla made into a taco. The birria beef tasted amazing and the consommé to dip it in was delicious. You'll slurp up the taco goodness! We'll definitely be back to this new restaurant soon. We're glad to have discovered it!

We tried this place because it was late, close, and the pictures of the food looked delicious. Food that looks good usually is good, right? The chips in the chips and salsa bar, free with food, are bagged, but nice thick, crispy chips. The pico is very fresh, seems just prepared, which is nice because in many places, while good, the pico is very mass produced and has almost a soggy nature. No pickled jalapeños and carrots here, escabeche, which is a bit odd for a taqueria, but they substituted other items that had a nice crisp freshness that was a nice counterbalance the heat in their salsas. The cucumber chips are cold and crisp, and delicious with a dash of salt and squirt of lime. They also had red onions with extremely light vinegar (I think) and thinly sliced habenero peppers with a bit of black Pepper that were very good. I do wish the onion slices were quartered not halved as the large sprigs of onion are hard to corral into a clean bite. These cold crisp veggies really pair well with their three hotter salsas while eating your food. The milder green sauce is good, but could use a bit of acid, salt or cilantro, as could the pico. The two hot marked red salsas are good, solid sauces. The star here is the extra hot...wonderful texture, heat that numbs, and flavor that says oh yeah, keep hurting me, but the perfect amount of heat which gives you a thrill, but doesn't overpower the entree. Really great stuff. I know, a lot about the chips and salsa, but for me, that's a major draw to taqueria life! My family of three had crispy shredded beef tacos, carne asada tacos, and I had the carne asada burrito. The beef crispy tacos use birria meat, no sauce. What nice here is this isn't a deep fried greedy taco. Thry use birria meat and the taco eats clean and crisp. It was slightly dry, however, and my wife said a spoonful of red sauce or squirt of an aioli would go a long way, and might also enhance flavor a bit. But very solid. My son had the asada tacos, and commented the tortillas were very good and tasted like maybe they made them. Strong, soft, tasty. Meat and guacamole above average. Rice and beans on both dishes solid but not spectacular, but good, they both said. Presentation on both taco dishes was excellent making the food look pretty--gave me some FOMO--and the plates look full. The burrito suffers in presentation. Foil wrap on a papered tray. But what's inside is pretty good! They grill the finished burrito so you get some nice golden brown caramelization on the tortilla which adds texture and taste. Great wrap, nice and tight, tremendously uniform shape, and even distribution of ingredients--often a big burritos issue, as you burrito fans know. It was good, though the mix was a bit heavy on beans and rice, and while I enjoyed it, I think more asada should be present. Pros: Above average food, definitely well good Very clean restrooms (this is important if you know food business, also if dirty, my wife will never go back) Clean restaurant, up to date tables and chairs, large open feeling space Salsas are good to great, and fresh cold items in the salsa bar are very welcome Very friendly staff They bring the food to you--not normal for taquerias and very nice Opportunities for improvement: When very slow as they were when we were in, do table checks, ask how the food is, offer to get extra salsa, love on the guests when you have the time! Taco presentation great, burrito presentation "here's your burrito" so maybe lose the foil, put a knife cut, open that burrito, show the layers, stand one up on its end, something like that. Also, a foil tube on a tray makes the burrito look small, and it isn't. Let me feel the value, it's there for sure. Food is good, but lacks a certain zip, a bam! I hate to say this because it sounds like I'm saying the flavor is meh and it's better than that, Overall: We are going back. This place is a B+/A- and has a certain healthy uniqueness in a somewhat homogenized taquerias market, feels like it's finding a happy place between a full service Mexican restaurant and a taco house. Yeah, there are some rough edges here and there, but while maybe they don't that professional smoothness some chains have--it feels very much like your aunties make good food and opened up a place--bit I think that'll smooth out over time, and I think they make up for it with authenticity and personality. The food is good, more California fresh than most in the segment, and that it's decidedly non corporate, just itself and not afraid to be different is refreshing and kinda fun. I'm curious to see how they evolve and want to help them get there. Try it, it's good.

This is a clean restaurant that has delicious birria tacos. They have unique dishes like Birria Ramen. Definitely will continue to come by and try this place more often. Not too busy, plenty of parking space as they seem to just be opening up.

Nice new Mexican restaurant off Winding Way. Family owned very friendly Brandon helped us out me and my brotha got 3 tacos el pastors and carne asada. Was very impressed the flavors worked well together, guac veggies and crispy barbecued meat. I loved both and we got a horchata on the house was also good. Great nacho bar with a good amount of different toppings to put on top labeled between mild to spicy which is very smart: Interior/exterior had a good amount of seating and different options from tables to bar stool areas. They close 10pm weekdays definitely will be back with our MGC youth!

Tacos by Tijuana is spacious and clean with standard tables along with bar-style seating. There's a chips and salsa station in the corner. On various visits, we encountered pleasant staff. There are large TV screens for shows or have music playing. I really enjoy the Birria Quesa-Tacos which come with Consommé. They make a cheese quesadilla with 2 corn tortillas, then load it with Birria, onions, and cilantro. These are a personal favorite and a repeat order for me. Other family members have enjoyed a variety of dishes, some of which include the molé enchiladas, chicken quesadilla (made with a large flower tortilla), and the carne asada tacos.

Omg this place is heaven! Everyone here is so nice and positive, which is right up my alley. Jenny is the best and the location is very safe. 12 out of 10 so make sure to tip!

Such a good spot & friendly people this is my husband's second time coming and my first! Thank you to the chef for the crepe, definitely will be coming back. Food was so yummy we forgot to take before pictures but we got chilaquiles verdes, torta de pastor, and kids pancakes.

My husband and I tried this new neighborhood spot and we'll definitely be back! The food was really good and authentic. We enjoyed the enchilada plate and chilaquiles. We were greeted as soon as we arrived and staff were friendly and patient when I asked a bunch of questions. Wasn't busy but I'm hoping their business picks up. Try it! You won't be disappointed!

My wife and I stopped by for breakfast and loved this place and the prices are really affordable. The service was amazing, I would highly recommend this place if you're craving Mexican breakfast or even American breakfast.

This place is SO DELICIOUS! Second time we've been here. The hubs got the 3 asada tacos and I went for the asada loaded potato. OMG the loaded potato was deeeeelish! I ended up sharing with him because it was so much food. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and quiet. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Mexican food. It's tucked away in the strip mall on the corner of Winding Way and San Juan next to the salons. Tried this place a few weeks ago...AND IT WAS AWESOME!!! The first impression was smaller diner, well kept (clean) open concept serving/dining area, and BEAUTIFUL art pieces. A few caught my eye as we walked in and I could not look away...that was at least until our server came up from the back. Cannot remember his name, but he was extremely nice and helpful. Served us with a smile and let us know that the sodas had free refills and there was a chip and salsa bar in the corner of the diner. We ordered our food, grabbed our chips and salsa and did not have to wait terribly long for our food. Our food was really good and the salsas from the bar were fresh and yummy! They let us take our time with eating and we felt unrushed despite the busyness of diners coming and going. We hope for longevity and success for this wonderful business! We will be back!

There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. Overall the ambiance, food, and accessibility make this a great spot for brunch! Will definitely be coming back.

There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). The indoor area is a mix of dark woods and faux plants, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.

I came during a busy hour which wasn't idea but didn't affect anything in regard to the taste of what I got! Typically I like to find a spot that's quietly busy so if you're wanting to do the same I would try to come when it's less busy as I found myself slightly overstimulated by the business and seeing all the seats filled up which otherwise is a good sign! The Banana Dream Match caught my eye so I ordered it immediately along with an Avocado toast + egg ( extra cost). They give you a buzzer for the food and you have to find a corner to wait in that's out of the way and pick your food up by the kitchen. The vibe was very open and I liked the different seating options as well as the abundance of outlets. I ended up eating outside to get away from the busyness and the I was in the middle of talking when the taste of the Banana hit me. The best. Banana matcha I've ever had. Which I didn't expect because I've tried so many but what I loved most is that the banana flavor was sweet but tasted like real banana and the matcha flavor was still present. The banana flavor wasn't just at the top either it was top to bottom so every sip tasted the same making it soooo good!! The Avocado toast was good as well a little on the tangy side but I loved the egg. Great spot when it's less busy which would make parking easier as well but glad I stopped in to find my new favorite matcha spot.

I mentioned Fair Oaks Brew Pub as an option I found on Yelp &, as a local, he said it was a great choice. We almost immediately scored street parking only a few doors down. I'd never been to Old Fair Oaks Village before. Looking around, the little town center was more reminiscent of a historic gold country town up in the foothills than Sacramento suburban sprawl. The cutesy charm of the surroundings extended to Fair Oaks Brew Pub itself. Greeted as soon as we walked up, we chose to sit out in their inviting patio area on a perfect Spring day. Our server was along shortly. She was friendly, helpful, & the right amount of attentive. For brew pub fare, we both chose the Risky Burger. Essentially a Western bacon BBQ variation of their regular cheeseburger. Sides were upgraded to onion rings. For the brew, I got their Chicken Foot Pale Ale. Everything was up before long. The Risky Burger was outstanding. Crispy bacon, tasty onion rings (in the burger, as well as on the side), gooey melted cheese, & a perfectly cooked patty just juicy enough to turn the last bite or 2 of the whole burger into a bit of a mess. The Chicken Foot Pale Ale was decent for style, though a little old school in terms of recipe/ malts/ hops. Still, a refreshing pairing for the Risky Burger. All in all, Fair Oaks Brew Pub was a great spot to grab a bite & a beer in an unexpectedly scenic pocket of suburbia.
