Solid place to get your taco fix. Located on the corner of Herndon and Brawley next to a Chevron, you'll find this taco truck. I've been here on multiple occasions and have enjoyed the food each time. I typically get their quesabirria combo. For around $12, you get 3 good tacos, good amount of consome, green and red salsa, all your typical taco accompaniments (grilled onions, grilled jalapenos or chilis, etc.), and a full belly. I do admit sometimes the tacos can be a hit or miss (meat can be chewy sometimes), hence why it isn't a complete 5 stars, BUT the good days are GOOOOOOD. I still enjoy my time each time though - I can't complain! This visit I got a lengua taco and it was BOMB! The service is quick and efficient. The workers are super nice! Sometimes in the cold months when I've visited, they give you a lil cup of soup while you wait. There are no tables or seating so plan accordingly. Overall, if you're in the area I think this place is worth a visit.

If you were to ask me to rate this place a couple years ago when they had a location in the Shields area, this would be an easy 5/5. Tacos California put me on to the best quesabirria I've ever had. However, ever since they moved locations to Brawley, their quality has gone a bit down, but still enjoyable. Located in the Chevron gas station, this spot serves solid Mexican street food. My go-to is the quesabirria combo, which comes with three quesa tacos, a side of consome, and some side carrots and grilled onions. Upon my recent visits, the tacos were a little on the burnt side and lacked the flavor that I am used to. Additionally, the tacos get soggy quickly if you don't eat it right away (however, I don't think this is their fault). The meat can also be hit or miss, where one day they can melt in your mouth or be tough. On the other hand, the consome and side veggies are packed with flavor and seasoned really well. Overall, you still get plenty of food for the price and quality service. Just can be a little more consistent. Definitely recommend checking out!

We got the quesabirria tacos and super nachos w carnitas. Dang, the good was so good. Made perfectly and it came out super quick. Perfect chill at home date food with some beers. Going back with the homies.

Their tacos are so so good! Went on a Thursday around 11am, the wait wasn't bad at all and customer service was fantastic! Ordered the birria tacos with asada instead of birria and they were hands down one of the best tacos I've had! Only con is they were a bit greasy, but I'll still be back!

The tacos were terrible. Greasy and no flavor. The quesabirria was burnt, the chunks of meat were hard and flavorless. The juice was just grease with cilantro and onions. We ordered a side of rice and beans for $6.00 and we didn't get them. Save yourself the waste. The service was good so it's unfortunate the food wasn't the same.

TC is another one of those iykyk places. Truthfully speakin tho, I don't know how u wouldn't know by now that this this place is FIRE!!! Holy moly...the tacos, burritos, tortas, birria tacos are really like that. The grilled veggies wooo lawd. I personally love the location & set up. Bottom line , the food is the star of the show here & well worth the visit. 5 starz.... that's it that's all.

My husband picked up food for us from here today. I got the tacos birria which came with the consume, pickled carrots/onions/peppers (they were tangy and great). My husband got a carnitas burrito. When ordering, my husband was given a little cup of soup while waiting. He said it was amazing. The tacos get soggy pretty fast BUT they were so full of flavor, hot, had some crunch, and were drizzled with an additional sauce. I have no complaints and will be returning soon!! Husband said the burrito was good too and the owners were great!

Late weeknight on the west side of town. We decided to stop by this place before getting on the 99. The ambience of the location was very inviting. Got home to finally eat and was disappointed in the size/portion of our burrito. I feel like they could have done a better job for the price of the item. The quesadilla was alright. Not really a fan of the grilled cheese inside. 3 stars bc the flavor was there in the burrito and sauces.

After seeing this taco spot on Yelp I decided to give it a try. I got a few asada tacos and also a few birria tacos. I love that they use a yellow corn tortilla instead of white. The tacos were good and had plenty of meat. I forgot to ask if consomé came with the birria tacos so sadly I didn't get any to go with mine. Next time I'll have to remember to order it on the side.

Outdoor dining area, tables are 6ft apart. Hand sanitizer available on each table.

This spot is literally off the beaten path, the "dining" area consists of picnic tables and folding chairs on top of gravel. It is outdoor only. Each table is 6-feet apart with hand sanitizers on each table. I appreciate how they are taking covid-19 measures seriously. There is one port-a-potty and a jug of water/hand soap for washing your hands. Ordered a variety of tacos: asada, pollo, carnitas and pastor. They are served on corn tortillas topped with their salsa verde, grilled onions and fresh cilantro. They offer grilled jalapeños on the side along with one tiny red and green salsa. My favorite was the asada. Also tried the plain French fries, pretty basic. Docked a star since I found a hair in the fries. No big deal for me. They also serve mariscos and menudo/birria/pozole on the weekends. Definitely returning to try other things!

I don't think I've ever felt betrayed by Yelp reviews...until now…read more During a recent road trip we stopped here to picked up some lunch/dinner because tacos are quick and easy and their Yelp rating is high. Location/services: Upon entering the building I immediately noticed the heat. It was a hot 98 degree day and the restaurant felt like an oven and was maybe 3-5 degree cooler than it was outside. I then quickly noticed this was a very simple operation (almost like a food truck), and not much to the menu, but there were folks sitting and eating and a few others waiting to order, so I assumed the food must be great. We ordered 4 meals (tacos with rice/beans) which was meant to be eaten there but after waiting in line and feeling like we were in a hot box, we decided to make it to go. We sat and waited for our food (about 20 mins), we chatted and observed our surroundings and it became very apparent the restaurant was not maintained with basic cleaning because it was very grimy and just plain dirty. I then used the restroom and it was absolutely disgusting. Our ordered was called and the staff was very nice. The food: As I mentioned, we got 4 orders of tacos (all carne asada) with rice/beans, and we asked for salsa and limes. We got grilled jalapenos, lemons and one sandwhich baggy filled with red salsa. Not a big deal. The meat was fine but the tortillas were inedible. They were tough, flavorless, and greasy. The bean and rice were ok. We ate enough to curb our hunger but none of us finish our food. Upon my best judgement, I had convinced myself that the food was gonna be great because their Yelp rating told me so. I was so wrong! One last note, there was nothing here that resembled a bakery/panaderia. So if you think you could also grab a treat here, you are wrong.
