Oh yeah!! I love this place now. I'm addicted. They make absolutely fabulous guacamole - I mean, seriously one of the best I've had, consistently. They make absolutely delicious chiles rellenos - I get mine with salsa verde and they are just amazing. Tacos are great. Flautas and sopes too. Even their beans are super-tasty. They have a nice outdoor patio for dining, but keep in mind it's pretty small inside so it could be crowded. It's not ridiculously overpriced like other similar restaurants, it's definitely not a tourist trap. read more

Our day started with plans to visit New Hope and grab a bite for lunch at one of the many restaurants that graces the west side of the Delaware River. While surfing yelp to get a feel of the atmosphere during these trying times (some restaurants are closed and haven't re-opened due to covid restrictions) I came across a review posted by one of my friends who happens to have great taste when it comes to food and the choice of eateries. So this little gem is actually on the eastern side of the river in Lambertville, NJ. As always Gerald was on point with his review. The place is small but somewhat welcoming. We went around the side of the building to the back where a patio is set up with tables for outdoor dining. There's a huge colorful tarp to keep things dry in case of rain. We were greeted by Antonio who told us to chose any table we wanted since we were their first customers of the day. This is a BYOB establishment and as Antonio pointed out there is a liquor store just around the corner in case we wanted to run out and get something. They do offer soft drinks and fruit shakes. After chatting for a few minutes we place our orders. My wife decided on a dish called "La Gringa" that came with tortillas tapas on the side. This dish was delicious, it had chorizo, pineapple, avocado, ham, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese cream and ground beef. Got exhausted typing all that! My dish is simple and sweet "Enchiladas Oaxaquenas". Three chicken stuffed enchiladas with mole sauce and onions, parsley and cheese on top. The owner stepped outside from the kitchen to say hello and asked if we enjoyed our meals. We had a lovely conversation with Antonio who was very courteous and attentive. We left with the feeling that we will definitely be back to try some of their other dishes. Once again kudos to you Gerald! read more

Coming out of Yelp retirement just to review this fantastic restaurant. The huevo/chorizo torta blew me away with its soft, floury bread, fluffy egg, spicy chorizo well integrated with the egg, and crunchy-fresh onion and pepper, all washed down with a cold, cinnamony horchata. And everybody else loved what they ordered too. I didn't at all expect to be eating such high quality Mexican food in Lambertville, but Tacos Cancun was as good as I've had anywhere in the U.S. including the Central Valley in California (for example). we came impromptu on a saturday night and didn't need reservations which was great! we sat outside in their cute little back patio area. we started with some beef nachos - they were good but i wish there were more! probably enough for 2 people me and my friend split the chicken quesadillas and shrimp tacos. the chicken quesadillas were good but i wish the chicken was shredded more and had more flavor. the shrimp itself in the tacos were small and once again - i needed more flavor overall it was cheap and decent but def have had better mexican food read more

I don't eat Mexican food very often and when my family suggested Mexican, I went along with it rather than make any waves. Once we got there, I didn't expect much just by the looks of the place. But oh boy, was I wrong! I ordered the shrimp burrito and it was the best burrito I've ever eaten. Absolutely exquisite! Everyone else was just as pleased as I was with their meals. Our waiter was very nice. When we left, I noticed the special board but our waiter never told us the specials. Maybe we were too quick to order! After reading all of the fantastic reviews for Tacos Cancun, we decided to skip our favorite go-to Mexican restaurant and opt for something new. We split the fish tacos and burrito al pastor (takeout in these quarantine times). The people were very nice (and wearing masks- thank you!), but I was most excited to try the food. The tacos and burrito were both good; unfortunately, they didn't live up to the high expectations I had. The fish tacos were a bit bland and left me wanting more flavor and texture. The burrito was good- the meat was well-seasoned, and it had all of my favorites inside: rice, beans, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, etc. I'm happy to supporta local business at this time and would get this as a quick and easy lunch. For a dinner when I'm craving Mexican, I'd still head elsewhere. read more

Sorry to be the downer here but I don't get the positive reviews -- and I am a long time supporter of small authentic Mexican restaurants. Prices are high. $14 for tacos or a torta? It better be great and my torta was average. I can get a better one for $8 in New Brunswick. And if you are going in the summer, consider take out only in the summer because it's uncomfortably hot inside. read more

My son has been talking about this place forever and we finally got to go. We got to sit at an outside table behind the restaurant and it was totally adorable though lots of bugs were with us. It's no frills, really, but they were able to give us a wine bottle opener and provide a bucket of ice and glasses for us. The servers are so nice and we enjoyed the chips with guacamole and variety of tacos. The accompanying sauces are good too. I would recommend ordering a couple of appetizers, and a couple of mains to share because portions are normal (small by US standards). They have authentic Mexican beverages and food. The food is good. Not great, definitely not bad, but overall a nice experience and would definitely eat there again. read more

Hands down the best guacamole I've eaten in the general area (I live in Bucks County, PA). Second would be Toro Guacamole in Chalfont, PA, literally named after it, with a similar presentation but theirs lacks the seasoning this place delivers and I think I will be going back there next for weekend brunch instead. The house Pollo Relleno (a stuffed chicken breast with spinach and shrimp) was so good, my kids were stealing off my plate. They enjoyed their own enchiladas and tacos, but they were begging me to ask for the sauce recipe! I was too shy, so we'll just have to go back. Yum! Stopped for lunch. I read the reviews and thought it would be worth a try. We are glad we did. Chicken Chimichanga for my wife - she asked for some sautéed onions and a little fess chicken. Damn if it wasn't the best Chimichanga I've ever seen (I've seen and consumed my fair share - so consider this an expert's opinion) I had a special that the table next to us had. It too was spectacular (wish I could remember what I ordered). Everything was fresh, and authentic. We'll be back soon - there is a half dozen items in the menu I want to try. read more

Yes! These are THE tacos. Very happy with the fish tacos and the tacos al pastor, while the lengua tacos were good, but not our favorite. They know Yucatan home cooking very well. The dishes are light, enjoyable, great flavor. Huaraches are quite delicious and a bit more filling. A nice little restaurant tucked away in the corner of Lambertville. One must stop by when visiting either Lambertville or New Hope. It can be a bit of a walk from New Hope over the bridge, but well worth it. read more

I live 40 minutes away and still come here almost every week. The food has never disappointed and the outside seating area is absolutely charming. Favorite place to eat in Lambertville! Also quick side note: normally there isn't music playing in the outside area but last time my boyfriend and I were there, one of the staff members put on some traditional-sounding Mexican music and it made the whole experience even better! In moving to Lambertville I have found that each place is better than the next! I love this place the flavors are truly the definition of authentic. The first time I came here I took the food to go and was absolutely wowed by how great everything tasted and couldn't wait for the opportunity to go back! I sat down and after looking over their menu decided to get the same thing as the first time because it was so divine, their "Gringa" a delicious chorizo red pepper onion and cheesey pile of heaven that comes with some warm corn tortillas. My boyfriend got their chicken Enchiladas with their mole sauce which he also got for the second time and we split the two..... they were delicious! Delicious little place in Lambertville. We were out there to deliver a dog to someone, and afterwards we stopped here. The tacos are amazingly fresh and quite delicious. I had pork, my husband had a mixed platter of tacos. Very, very fresh, very authentic with a nice amount of bite to them. I don't know man. The amount of stars his place has is insane. I've tried a few things on the menu and everything kind of sucks. For example I had a chicken burrito the other day and the chicken is just shredded unseasoned chicken that's dry. The beans were nothing spectacular in the burrito, and the guacamole just tasted like avocados mashed with no flavor. Best Mexican outside of California or Mexico. We had an order of fish tacos, an order of carnitas tacos and a house made guacamole. The guacamole came in a molcajete and was perfectly chunky, with flecks of tomato, onion and jalapeño. The chips which were proper hard fried brought three sauces: a chipotle, a tomatillo and I think just a traditional cooked tomato. The tacos came three to an order. I completed overate. I think the bill was $21 plus tip. Insane?! I wish I could get these types of tacos closer to home. Btw, it is hard to find a server or the bathroom and the ambiance is a little taste of Tijuana, but we are not there for the decor . read more

The NYT led us to this tiny mercado and authentic Mexican BYO restaurant. Everything is made-to-order (including the most exquisite pico de gallo and chunky (chopped not mashed) guacamole). The indoor seating is limited to three small tables but the patio is the place to be, especially on a dry, temperate evening. There you will enjoy Latin music while dining. Tonight's dinner also included the Gringa, highly and rightly recommended by other Yelpers. It has become the Mister's "go to" entree. He gobbled it largely silently, except for noting its generous use of chorizo and occasional nom-nom sounds. I had two chicken-chipotle tostadas. Because the tostadas were heaped with ingredients, they required a knife and fork. The chipotle sauce was gorgeously smoky and not tongue-searingly hot. Do not come here expecting fine linens or European-influenced preparations. The offerings are honest, rustic cuisine. As with any ethnic restaurant, the fact that numerous patrons were speaking la langue maternelle seemingly underscores the authenticity of the place. read more

The moment you walk inside Ta is Cancun you know you have found an authentic Mexican restaurant. And what is even better is the service from this family owned restaurant is amazing.
