I don't usually do taco trucks, but I had an amazing experience with one my friend recommended in another part of California and decided to give some of the ones in the valley a try. Sadly this was disappointing... I came to grab dinner on a weekday evening around 6 and we were the only ones ordering the entire time. This truck is sometimes parked on Variel and sometimes on Roscoe, but it's always at the same intersection and easy to spot. They didn't have a menu, which I found annoying. I wanted to see what meats they had. I ended up ordering three basic tacos ($2 each): chicken, carnitas (pork), and carne asada (beef). My friend ordered a vegetarian torta for $12. The chicken meat was dry and the carne asada was salty and dry. I didn't like either one. The carnitas were okay. Maybe I came on an off day but there are plenty of other taco trucks in the area to try, so I probably won't be back. read more

We noticed this taco truck that was offering $1 taco Tuesday's. We went up to order and we were not greeted. The cook had to tell the cashier that we were trying to order. We then inquired about the taco Tuesday deal and they told us the tacos were $2 and I told them I noticed the deal was $1 and they told me it was because they needed a smaller tortilla. The tortilla shown to me was those typical small ones and to me that did not make sense. I honestly felt like they were trying to rip me off and it made me feel weird. My boyfriend ordered a burrito de asada that came out to $13 and the meat was dry. I am pretty disappointed in this experience but am hopeful that it can possibly change in the future. read more

I'm in LA for the next few weeks and I've made it my goal to try as many tacos as I can. Stop number 1 was Tacos DeSoto. It was super easy to find right on the road and there was street parking. they make the tacos as you order them and I had a short wait. The customer service was outstanding. The owners are super nice and welcoming. They do take cash and card. I ordered chorizo and steak mix tacos with spicy sauce and cilantro, onion toppings. They were $3/taco and I paid $9 total. They also have drinks on site and a small seating area out front. The tacos were cooked perfectly the perfect size and they were delicious. The steak was extremely tender and it wasn't super oily so the taco stayed together while I was eating it. This is a great place to stop for a quick grab and go lunch. read more

Great tasting menudo that they serve on the weekend. I highly recommend it to everyone I have visited different places and it isn't taste or have a good smell to it. The customer service is good very nice people they do a great job and I don't have much to complain. I work in the valley but live in the IE. I always order carne asada burritos for my daughter and myself. When I get home my food is still warm and taste so delicious. I honestly feel like I got CATFISHED by the taco man. Please avoid this place there are a lot of other amazing places not far away. Only caveat here is apparently Tuesday tacos are 1$, although I bet not anymore. When I arrived after ordering on the phone, the prices were all different. It ended up being 38$ for 14 tacos and a burrito. Ridiculous. I still paid giving this dude a chance. Maybe the food was going to be bomb and hooked up, that's why the price was high? I was wrong. Everything about this place stinks, the look of it outside, the low quality ingredients, horrible portions. Everything was off. My tacos were half onion... three of the tacos randomly came with only onion, no cilantro. So 3 literally were half onion half asada. The chicken flavor was bad. Like I'm talking some of the worst chicken tacos I ever had. Worse than Del taco chicken taco. I only ate one/three of the chicken tacos I bought. That's how much I disliked it. The chips were bomb. I didn't pay 38 for bomb tortilla pieces. I know I'm being a stickler but I feel like the pictures did not show AT ALL what I was driving too. I drove a long way to try this place and was disappointed. Maybe if you live nearby and its Tuesday its amazing. Otherwise try tacos Michoacan or the taco truck on Plummer, OR DEL TACO OR TACO BELL would have made me much more satisfied. read more
