This is an underrated late-night taco spot in La Puente (also close to Baldwin Park). The tortillas are delicious, soft, have that nice flour flavor, and don't get so soggy so that you can microwave leftover tacos the next day and they still taste great. The al pastor, chorizo, and cabeza taste amazing. The chicken on the night that I did get tacos tasted a little weird. I loved the green salsa, red salsa, and avocado sauce that they include for sides. They have the perfect amount of spice and lots of flavor. Warning, the jalapenos they include are very spicy!! You get your own radish and limes that they provide for you and everything is simple, clean, and organized. I would highly recommend this spot if you're craving tacos late night or even for a large party of people. Also the 6 tacos for $12 is an amazing deal. Just be warned that if you get multiple orders and they stack it, the tacos may be flattened out. Also their Macho Burrito (can choose your own meat) is huge!! and delicious. It also doesn't easily fall apart if you keep it in the aluminum foil. The service was great. The cashier and the cook were very friendly and kind. Anytime I feel the urge to travel to Mexico, I drive up to this food truck for my mini travel destination experience! I love coming here to order from the awesome kid at the cashier, always singing to his Spanish tunes. The asada meat here is a little different than your average LA Mexican asada. Seems a bit more smoky in flavor, which makes me think they use a smoker to cook their meat. I usually go between a pura carne if I'm feeling carnivorous or when I need the carbs; you can't go wrong with a $5 jam packed burrito! Definitely worth a try if you love Mexican food. read more

This review is for their catering services for 75 people. I spoke to Sheila and got all the details and pricing down. Four meats, rice, beans, garnishes, chips, salsas, plates, forks, napkins. Very reasonable price. This was done about 3-4 weeks before the event. I texted Sheila two weeks before confirming the details above. I also texted 2 days before the event confirming details again. She assured me all was taken care of and that they would be there one hour prior for set up. They arrived 1 hour early as promised. Gentleman, (Hector) was very professional. He introduced himself, kept checking in with my husband and I during the service, asking us if everything was ok. He kept everything stocked and the set up was charming. Now the best part THE TACOS....wow what delicious flavor. It was a smokey ..wood fire flavor. Everyone kept saying these were the best tacos they have had. I have to agree and the salsas were also delicious. They brought there own distilled water for cooking and steaming. Hector was great at keeping everything clean and up to code. At one point my little six pound Maltese went sniffing around where he had set up and stored things. He immediately told my pooch ...no no..off limits....lovingly but firmly... OK, I give credit where credit is due. My wife and I have been going to this taco truck parked outside of Lopez Tire store between the abortion clinic and Shakey's pizza parlor for a few years now. Last night we went there around 10pm (Wednesday evening) and there was no one there, which is unusual. They usually have at least a small crowd there, and we were happy to step right up and order. I ordered an all meat (puro carne) carne asada burrito ($7.50) and my wife ordered 3 Tacos de Tripas. *ALL* of the meat was C O L D ! How hard is it to throw it on the flat top and heat it up??? HOT food is really important to me, especially from a TACO TRUCK! Halfway through the eating my burrito, there was a B I G piece of FAT (horrible!), which was unusual, they have always served up tasty ALL MEAT carne asada! I gave my wife a bite, and she pulled ANOTHER BIG PIECE OF FAT out of the burrito! And at the very end, ANOTHER BIG PIECE OF FAT!!! So the meat is COLD, and 3 big pieces of FAT inside my burrito??? We hired This Taquero to cater to our party of 80 people or less, paid for them to cook for 2 hour's. Half the people we expected showed up and We still ran out of chicken and asada How?? They also were only there for 1 hour and 20 mins actually cooking. We weren't going to make it an issue but it needed to be addressed. We learned the hard way that they're closed on Mondays but open the rest of the week. i dig the variety of meat (asada, pastor, carnitas, chicken, buche, tripas, sesos, chorizo, and birria) and you can enjoy the savory aromas before ever tasting the quality of their carnes. instead of only serving up tacos, they also offer burritos, tortas, mulitas (think a meat filled corn tortilla quesadilla), vampiros (think a fresh made tostada). they also open up the garage bays and have long picnic style tables with squeezy bottles of salsa verde and roja to pass around, which earns big points with me. i just wish they were a little closer, but the girlie and i will make the drive to satisfy our cravings. read more

I would never use this taco man ever!!! They are a very unprofessional company, they book you and say that you're going to come out on that day and then they never show up. They don't even have the audacity to call you or text you and say they forgot or that they couldn't make it or anything like that. I had the Vampiros and it actually looks better than it's actual taste. It's all in the MARINATION and Sauces, if I have to add a dash or two of more salt in my Carne Asada or squeeze more lime in my salsa verde, then it doesn't stand up to the test in my book.
