Wow, this place is popping! Lots of traffic at lunch hour, so maybe call in & order to go if you don't have time? They seemed a little short staffed for the holiday weekend, but the ladies took my order pretty quickly, & the food was great. Affordable. I ordered huevos con chorizo y corn tortillas. The tortillas were very greasy-I'll pass on those. But for the price, traffic & menu selection, I'd say this place is a hit, especially with the locals. The waitresses were also very helpful in spite of the traffic although they didn't check up on me or the guy across from me who I could see was having a similar experience with the wait & service. Even got a lil side salad as a garnish, but hey the dressing was pretty good, so I had a few bites! I have been coming to this place for a few years now and it NEVER fails to impress me. Their tacos are flavorful and colorful, service is always great. Rice and Beans are fluffy, I love food especially food that just makes you stop and enjoy every single bite. I appreciate their authenticity of the whole place as well. I feel that most places now a days lose their authenticity and what makes them great so that they can please those people who don't appreciate REAL FOOD. Good, fast and CHEAP mexican food. Their 3 taco combo plate is such a good value-- piled high with meat (tender and juicy carne asada or whatever you want), creamy beans and rice. Their cheese echiladas were great for my vegetarian phase. Nice amount of grease factor and the bottom was slightly charred and crisp. But I'm thankful I've come back to the dark, carnivorous side. This place is near my work and I had wanted to try it several times. It has an authentic atmosphere but on my visit, the music could have been a tad bit lower. Don't get me wrong I love some mariachi music, but a few times I could not hear the waitress and she could not hear me. The chips and salsa were good, better than I expected. As for general meal, I attempted to try something I had never had before so it is hard to say if the bad experience I had was the type of meal or the restaurants preparation of the meal. I order the Pastor Burrito (wet) and it was nice and juicy however a bit too salty for my taste. The serving was huge portion, I could only eat half, I would say the whole burrito was about 10-12 inches. Don't waste your time coming here I've been coming to this place for years never had a problem good food but the last 3 times I've came they have messed up my order I kept giving them a chance because I've always liked their chilaquiles but Saturday was definitely the last time I went their I ordered 3 plates of chilaquiles 1 breakfast burrito 1 wet burrito and a plate of menudo I Specifically told her no onion on anything because I'm ALLERGIC to it and my family don't like it I got home with my order to see the plates of food full of onion everywhere the wet burrito was not wet and the breakfast burrito with onion as well so I went back with my food to tell them I told her everything that was wrong with my food and she said I never told her anything about onion and that we never ordered a wet burrito She was really rude and mad for her own mistakes she went to the back with my food and came back and said we can't remake your food but the cook is picking out the onion of them !! She then came back with my breakfast burrito and said their is no onion in it the cook knows what he put in it and their is no onion he also already check it all and no onion and slammed my burrito on the counter I told her I picked out onion out of my burrito when I cut it in half at home and she walked away leaving me talking to my self so another lady comes and tells me the cook already said there's no onion in it because she saw me opening my burrito to show them and I told her there is onion in it she grabbed a spoon and starts picking at my burrito and said nope their no onion in this so I start picking at my burrito as well and show her all the onion in it and she said oh yea it does have onion and as she starts to grab the burrito the other rude lady says are you sure that onion is coming out of the burrito like I would go out of my way to put onion she wanted to make me seem like I was the wrong one when she just didn't put the order in right she was just very rude about everything when all she had to do was make my order right because she wasn't gifting me the food we payed for it so the least she can do is be nice and make my food right!!! Ive been here several times, and each time its gotten worse. Their tacos meat is lumpy or chunky, and a bit bland. Their cabeza WAS some of the best I'd had, but the last 2 times, they skimped on the meat. (Cabeza is CHEAP guys) Since I wasnt impressed with their Al Pastor, Carne Asada, OR Carnitas, Ive been ordering Cabeza burritos. I like that they leave some fat on the meat. But the LAST time I was there, they threw the burrito on the plate so hard, it exploded on one end. THEN they proceeded to wrap it in paper anyway. It looked like the waitress was serving me a dirty diaper. When I dared to unwrap it, the tortilla was stale and looked like it had psoriasis. There was hardly any meat, but plenty of soupy refried beans. The waitress is nice, but nothing more. They give you one (1) small bowl of chips and a little salsa if you dine-in, but just one. Additional is 1.99, which I think is a little obnoxious for a mexican restaurant. The chips are a bit hard, but the salsa is SPICY and quite delicious. Close to work, so I"ll still go there, but only if I crave chips and salsa. read more

This place is on my way home and it has become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Service is fast and as friendly as I need it to be. Their chips are much better than most. I usually get the chicken enchilada combination plate, which is excellent. Their salsa has some kick to it. It is best after eating to just go up to the register when you want to go. I'm not why so many negative comments. We have been coming to Tacos El Jr., and the food has always been excellent. The waitresses, too have always been Awesome. They remember us and able to serve a large crowd on their own, including the cheap ones who feel they should pay Taco Bell prices for an authentic Mexican restaurant. The decor does not bother me because I'm there for their great food. When you go, try their Pozole or their Chilaquiles with two "huevos estrellados"...yummy. The food is good, the service sucks. The waitress is rude and obnoxious. They charge to use your debit/credit card $1 per transaction. The salsa is just there and I have yet to try a plate I really enjoyed other than the Menudo! The Menudo is yummy and it comes with tortillas and all the fixins. I LOVE the food here but the service isnt the greatest. Everytime I go it takes forever to get a refill and even one time I didnt get one the whole time I was there and asked for a drink to go and they refused to give me one without being charged. Authentic and delicious Mexican food. The chicken breast burrito is my fave. The servers are friendly and the ambience is clean but ghetto. There isn't a straight wall in the place and the faux brick that's painted on the walls isn't fooling anyone. With the addition of the overly loud norteño music I sometimes feel like I'm actually eating in Mexico. Be sure to try their habanero salsa if you're feeling adventurous. read more
