We were on a long drive, trying to decide where to stop for food, husband was craving taquitos, Yelp brought us to Tina's! Hubby enjoyed his taquitos and was very satisfied. I had a shredded beef taco and a taco de papa. I'm a sucker for a good taco de papa, and theirs did not disappoint. After seeing the photos of the crunchy tacos, we were sold. We stopped in and were warmly welcomed. We asked about the daily special vs. the family meal and were urged to go with the family meal so we'd have enough for the next day. So glad we did, the rice and beans that's better than when you'd eat at your grandmas house. The salsa was so tasty. But the star, the crunchy shredded beef tacos! Exactly what I wanted. Taco Tuesday at 5:30pm and our favorite spot was closed. So we came down the street to Tina's. We were just looking for a couple of crispy, crunchy ground beef and chicken tacos. We ordered 5 gb and one chicken. They were all packed with meat and full of flavor. The red salsa was spicy and full of flavor. The green was more tomatillo than chile and also very good. The perfect compliment for the slightly rich and greasy tacos. I hadn't been here for a few years and I'm pleasantly surprised. It will return to the rotation. My one ding was because 5 tacos were in white bags and one in yellow. One would think the single chicken taco would be in the yellow. It wasn't. I loved the decor. Bright and cheerful and proudly displaying the pride of the family. Service was otherwise great and it pays to pay with cash! I will be back to get my favorite Friday Special. read more

My first time at Tina's. We went on a Saturday evening. It was quiet but the flavor was loud! I got the loaded fries w/ asada and bf got the loaded nachos w/ pastor. We were in fat kid heaven! The place only holds about 33 people. I hear breakfast is pretty popular. Can't wait to go back! read more

I loooooove me some Tina's, but it was just okay today. Maybe it's because they were really busy, and possibly unprepared for a hectic Monday lunch. Ordered the shredded beef taco family combo, $40- 10 small tacos, rice, beans, chips, and salsa. This deal is solid, and usually does us right, but today the tacos were a lightweight miss. I think they were really over-fried because the tortillas were unpleasantly crispy, and the meat was really dry. Although usually very fresh tasting, today's taco seemed like they were a bit old, and even had me briefly questioning if they were off. Thankfully they were alright, as it seems I was just being overly cautious. Unfortunately, although it was only about noon, they were already out of the green salsa. Adding to the unusual day, was a bit of a ruckus happening in the dining room. No bueno. Tina's tastes like home, but today it didn't quite hit the mark. The beans and rice were good as usual though. I wanted to like this place but I'm too used to Santa Ana taco spots. I saw this on Instagram and I was like yes, tacos dorados! Well they were okay but they didn't come with any salsa so I has to take some of my hubby's from his green pork burrito which he said was pretty good. Also, we did the math and if you order a la carte then it's cheaper unless you want the shredded lettuce with thousand island on it which was okay. The cons outweigh the mediocre tacos and even though my hubby enjoyed the burrito he said he wouldn't drive out of his way for this. Cons: parking is no bueno Everything costs extra and just not enough flavor at least for tacos dorados. The ambience is whole in the wall and the service was okay. read more

The food was absolutely delicious ( chili Verde and chicken fajitas ) and comforting, and everything was prepared with care and quality. Every town has a few establishments that qualify as "institutions." Some sport novelty in lieu of inferior food (Tios Tacos), some have great bread but third string filler (Delia's), and others have a killer setting, but fail in QPR (any restaurant at the Mission Inn). Luckily, there are outstanding tacos to be had in areas locals know well, such as Tuxies, El Trigo, Tony's Tacos, Dos Hermanos, and here, Tina's. I've amassed a good profile of their tacos and burritos and can say they're consistent. The salsa won't win any prizes, but everything is definitely consistent. Let's start with the namesake: Tacos. OK, I have tried a profile worth, crunchy, and soft. My favorite tends to be Carne Asada (soft only) and shredded beef. After the beef, I rank chicken second and ground beef last. The beans are alright, but I have to agree with other reviews that the rice is kinda sad. Nothing adding their thickish salsa won't cure, but not a sales point. Service is always friendly here, so that's a highlight for me. Parking, on the other hand, is hit or miss, even on the adjacent street. I like to mix up my meals, and while different in taste to, say, Tony's, Tina's tacos are a little smaller and cheaper. I can eat 2-3 and feel satisfied. The wet burritos are also a solid choice, and they have daily specials, too. I'd say their strong suits outweigh any criticisms. read more

I've been here a few times before and kept coming back for it's affordable good food. Until today. I ordered a chicken burrito and the chicken was so dried and tough - it was inedible! I tried to salvage what I could, but the texture was like eating carpet fibers! $12 and I had to throw away my work lunch in the garbage. Never coming back. read more

Quick service. Small place but friendly people. The shredded beef soft taco was like biting into beef jerky with no flavor. The beans and rice were good. The cheese enchilada had cheese that wasn't completely melted and it was disappointing that it was bagged cheese. Fresh shredded would've been so much better. read more

Woke up craving Tina's today. Living out of the area I went. What has happened??! When change of ownership happened did recipes change? This food was so disappointing. The rice and beans are completely different. The dressing to the salad was extremely watery. Tacos I'm not even gonna go there. Meat dry looked like a tiny hard taco. Such a great place to go to waste. We will never go back. We miss the old original Tina's. Did those owners open up elsewhere? So sad. Service at food pick up was amazing. Very nice lady. I used to eat at the restaurant since the 1970's but noticed a change in the atmosphere and food when the management changed. Food is "okay" but I was going less frequent because of the entrance. The front sidewalk (the ONLY entrance), is plagued with drug addicts panhandling, and homeless asking for money outside sitting on the sidewalk. The adjacent stores are tacky as well. The parking lot only has around 10 stalls for 4 businesses so getting a place to park is hard. Random people use the one handicap stall, usually with no placard or plate. My boyfriend loves the camarones a la diabla , and the chiles rellenos.They have an amazing red salsa that I dream of .. my family lives 35min away from Tina's and make the drive w 2 small kids w no hesitation !!! I love that they have pictures of the late tina her self in the restaurant! U can tell that the family wants to honor all her hard work and they are doing it well !! The son and daughter-in-law are owners and even one of the granddaughters help out ! I highly recommend go try it asap !
