Tacos are amazing!!! And authentic, I believe. Tried to find the truck once outside of Wide World Sports Center during stated hours, but was unsuccessful. Not sure the trick yet to track the truck down. However, they do also have scheduled pop-ups at Mothfire Brewery and HOMES Campus which are great opportunities to get these tacos! (Both Mothfire and HOMES publishes their food truck schedule weekly! I find it on their Instagram pages.) Tried a few tacos and a quesadilla and will say the tacos are definitely the standout IMO. Seems like you really can't go wrong with any flavor/meat. Tacos come with onion, cilantro, lime, and a little bit of salsa on the side. Super tasty and flavorful meat. Absolutely recommend! How have I gone so long not knowing this was here?!? Very delicious Mexican food truck at the parking lot of Worldwide Sports. We were excited to try a few things and were not disappointed. The tacos were so good and everything I would expect out of street tacos. I liked their al pastor! I also had the quesadilla with carnitas and it was also delicious. Just simple and perfect! My partner really loved his chorizo burrito as well and the churros were a great dessert! Service was good and it was only a 10 min wait from ordering to getting our food! Wanted to order ahead before heading out... called twice, no answer, so drove up, ordered and waited for the food. I ordered the following: - 6 tacos (al pastor and carnitas) - 1 quesadilla (carnitas) - 2 tostada (chicken and ground beef) Total came out to $38 with 15% tip, total paid was $43.70. Had price shock for few seconds when I was told what the total was. The prices that I saw on the menu vs what was posted on the truck was different, looks like they raised the prices - ie taco went from $1.99 to $3.50 Alright, so here is what I think. - Al Pastor was good, but bit on the bland side - Carnitas was seasoned well and was my favorite, but it was bit dry. - Quesadilla was excellent as well. - Tostadas was decent, would skip it. When I think of foodtruck, I think of cheap and fast food. While you get your food out of a truck, their price is bit high compared to other taco trucks. However, you'll overcome the price point as their products are good. Only thing I ask is for them to either 1) pick up the phone to take orders and 2) maybe get online order enabled. read more

I've tried all of the other popular Mexican restaurants in Ann Arbor/Ypsi-- nothing has ever been better than tacos el mariachi loco! Pros: the workers are always friendly and the food is phenomenal! Cons: because they're a food truck, they can be difficult to track down if you're not active on their Facebook (but still definitely worth it) My recs: everything is good but I really like the fish tacos, the mushroom taco is also delicious for all the vegetarians! read more

Was looking for some good tacos in the area and came along this place. The have quite a bit of a menu with many taco assortments. I wanted the famous Birria taco but they ran out. So I had the chorizo, steak asada, and fish taco. They were all good. They also had tostadas, quesadillas, and burritos. Pricing isn't bad either. Staff is very nice and there are heaters at the counter for those cold nights. There is a $6 minimum for credit cards. Location is in the middle of a parking lot so you can't miss it! read more

Oh. My. Goodness. I don't even know where to start. This place is phenomenal!! Let's face it; it's impossible to find good, authentic Mexican food around here. But this place has done it. We picked up 9 tacos (combo of fish, pollo, carnitas, campechana, chicharron, and alambre) and a quesadilla. My teenage son said the quesadilla was one of the most delicious he's had. As for the tacos, they were all incredible. The fish was my least favorite, but one teen loved them. The carnitas was my favorite, but all of the tacos were astounding. I tasted every kind, and was amazed by each bite. The tacos here definitely rival my favorite California spots. You won't regret checking this place out. In recent take-out times, I have had my heart broken by my favorite places for this or that and have been looking around (kind of) for a new decent taco place. Actually, the day I found Tacos El Mariachi Loco, I was looking for a decent quesadilla. Something simple, cheesy and easy to eat, not deep fried. This is really how I discovered this place! Just 'quesadilla' and 'Ann Arbor' in the Yelp search. Friendly, with attention to detail...like you don't expect from a food truck! These guys are here all year, sun or snow and are worth the treasure hunt to find them. They are in the parking lot of Wide World Sports, so just go in like you are going to that place. Then follow your nose! The meat on the tacos was clean and not full of nasty gristle, the cheese in the quesadilla was ooey and gooey like I wanted it. The chicken was all white meat, with a perfect texture. Their side sauces are pretty good, not super spicy. Their prices are the best part...you will be full all day from just a few tacos and not much dent in your wallet. Their churros are probably the dulce de leche filled ones from food service wholesaler Restaurant Depot- but they *are* good. Worth getting...hot and yummy. I dip mine in the hot sauce! read more

It's located it a very random parking lot but the food was very delicious! They have some unique vegetarian options for tacos which were yum! I'm happy we stumbled upon this place and I want to try more things on the menu. The onlyyyy thing that I would maybe not get was the hot chocolate but that's probably more of personal taste.
