My wife and I are retired full time travelers and we visit a LOT of small town eateries. This was…read moreone of the worst we've ever seen. It started bad, a dog charged us as we exited our vehicles. Turns out the dog was harmless, but there as a moment when I feared my wife would be hurt. This same dog appeared at our (indoor) table to beg for scraps. No one acted as if this was abnormal. The dogs behavior is dangerous for the dog and certainly not inviting. I almost defended my wife with a swift kick. Wife had a crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken was like jerky. She was unable to eat the meal like a sandwich, but ate one of two pieces of chicken before giving up on the meal. Grossly over cooked! Fries were cold. From taste of fries and the very long time it took to prepare the meal, I suspect that the fries and chicken each took turns in a single fryer. Fries were cooked first then waited on time it took to destroy the chicken. Flavor of fries was not quite right, even though they were of a cut that we usually like. No one ever returned to the table after food was served to check on us. Place was very dirty and reeked of old deep fryer oil. The smell of grease was very strong and off putting. If it's always like this then the kitchen must be filthy. Improper ventilation can equal a very dirty kitchen? This "steakhouse" was very loud and more like a 2am bar scene than a restaurant. My wife and I found it nearly impossible to converse for the first several minutes of our stay. At least one of those shouting their laughter worked the place. Never again. Wish I could give negative stars for this one.

This is a very small town, and very isolated, so I was not expecting the Wynn or super chic-gastropub. The prices were good, and lastly, the people inside were friendly enough to clear "outsiders". We'll hopefully be back again this summer, and will stop by again.

Fiesta En Jalisco - Combo enchiladas and burritos. Maybe there's a taco under all of that lovely melted cheese.

Good but not amazing food served with friendly efficient service and an impeccably clean interior…read moreand kitchen. The cocktails were only 3 stars in my opinion -- the skinny margarita didn't taste very good, not sure why, and the Paloma I had after it wasn't much better. Start by losing the blue salt that they put around the rim which I think is not flavorless. Either do regular salt or none at all. The chips and salsa were fine, The salsa looked a little unusual, cut more coarsely than I'm used to, but it was good. The dinner was solid. I had a combination plate with a crispy taco, tostada, and cheese enchilada. All pretty good and they benefitted from some spice from the bottle of Tapatio sauce on the table. My friend had the arroz con pollo which looked a bit unusual (again, more coarsely cut vegetables and a thinner sauce than I'm used to) but he liked it. Overall, I'd come back anytime I was in Orofino. Though I might get a beer or straight tequila with my meal!

The chips taste just a little bit sour, like they had been fried in old oil or reheated poorly. The salsa was actually chucks of unidentifiable vegetables in a tomato based liquid. It didn't stop us from eating the chips and salsa provided, but they just weren't the best. My margarita was okay, but nothing notable. When our meals came we were surprised by the portion size! The beans and rice were lovely and both of our meals were very good. My husband got a combination meal, but the choice of protein was confused. He got a chicken taco instead of the beef that he ordered. My Chicken Crema dish was delicious. Too bad that we weren't super hungry because we had to leave a fair amount of food behind because of the portion sizes. I'm sure that the local people appreciate the leftovers for lunch the next day if they choose to eat here for supper.
