I've had Tacos El Norte a few times. Recently, we went for Take Out and ordered the Chicken Enchiladas and a Burrito. The space is quite large and has plenty of seating for a busy night. We went pretty early on a Sunday for dinner and it was already filling up. Service was great. We were greeted and offered help. When ready, we ordered and food was out quickly. The enchiladas were pretty good! You get three and you get to choose the protein and sauce. I chose the Ranchero Sauce. I was able to get a red sauce and green sauce on the side. The Ranchero Sauce was pretty mild. I was expecting a little kick, but there wasn't. I did throw some of the red sauce they gave me on the side to spice it up and it helped! They also gave me a verde sauce which was also mild. The burrito was stuffed and filling. We were full all evening from our dinner. Value, everything cost under $30, which is good. The food was very good, but be sure to request something spicy, if you want it that way. read more

It was a Tuesday and you all know what day it is!!! We had a Volleyball game to go to and were too lazy to cook so we decided to go to Tacos El Norte! We decided to order takeout and when we walked in, we were immediately greeted. We were given menus to look at and we ordered when we were ready. I saw roasted poblano pepper tacos. I was in the mood for a torta so I asked if they can make a roasted poblano pepper torta. She responded, "hmmm, never was asked that before and it sounds good!" I also ordered fries well done! I ordered a Horchata to share as well! The rest of the family ordered various tacos. We ordered a taco dinner (2 tacos, beans and rice), 4 individual tacos, torta, fries and horchata. The food came out pretty quickly and the fries were well done as asked. The horchata was mixed with perfection of sweetness and cinnamon. The torta was delicious and seasoned well. The ingredients included beans, lettuce, and cheese. The fries were well done as done requested. Overall, food was good and everyone was satisfied. They did forget one taco but I called and they provided a credit for the future. read more

The place was extremely crowded at the front (not a great waiting area) and the food did not meet expectations. ive been coming here for almost 30 years and the quality of the food has always been PERFECT! dining in is nice cause of the free chips but i don't live as close as i used to. EVERYTHING on the menu is AAA GREAT! still to this day ive never found a place with better carnitas taco than El Norte! I love this place and will continue to keep going here for ages! I placed an order through Uber and what was sent was not what I ordered. Instead of making things right this restaurant claims they only use Grubhub and that I didn't order from them. I ordered a burrito not a plate because the plate comes with things that are restricted to me like the rice. The plate was sent and it was received ice cold. See the photo attached which shows this order was clearly ordered here. They don't care enough about their customers to correct a wrongly filled order instead they deny the existence of the order. Went after visiting the circus in rosemont, so it was very late and we were glad they were still open. We got a two taco steak dinner and a burrito. Their service was incredible, everyone was so kind. One woman cleaning the tables near the front didn't understand english too well but she led us to a person that did. The store was pretty empty (it was late at night) except for one family so our food came out very fast! They had the tv's on and you could watch the chef cook your food. We got it to-go and I ate my tacos on the way home, the burrito was still warm by the time we got home! Very delicious. read more

Ten was a pleasant experience. I went here with my family and I can say it definetly lived up to the hype. The chips and Gaucamole was very fresh. I got the chicken flautas which were very crispy and delicious. My family got enchilada, tacos, and gorditas which were all great and flavorful. The waitress was very nice and patience with us. Tonight we tried this restaurant again with the hope that just maybe there would be improvements as we have not ordered from here for a very long time. Sadly we came to the realization our family just needs to stay away. Our son found multiple strands of hair in his tacos, the rice was bland, the steak in the tacos and burritos were flavorless and the pastor was not edible. Happy Cinco de Mayo! Tacos El Norte has some good reviews so we went out of our way to have Cinco de Mayo dinner there. They have an extensive menu with lots of traditional foods you don't always see on menus at Mexican restaurants. It is not a glamorous place - a storefront restaurant with an open kitchen and linoleum tables. We ordered margaritas to start. They serve chips and salsa while you wait. The chips were just okay, but the salsa I found very good. Spicy enough (I like spicy) but not too spicy to burn. I ordered a steak torta. The bread was very good. The meat and other fillings were well seasoned and prepared. My only complaint is that they should either use more fillings in their tortas to fill the bun, or find smaller buns. I ordered mine without the meal so cannot comment on their sides. I had a traditional margarita and my wife had strawberry. My margarita was very good. The strawberry one was a little too sweet for my tastes, All-in-all, not a bad place and one we will return to. read more

I ordered a Steak Chimichangas with beans, lettuce and extra cilantro and guacamole and chips. My bill came to $22.00, which I thought was high considering I did not get the meal. I asked to see a menu while they prepared my order. The Chimichangas was $8.99 and the guacamole was $5.00 - hmmm, seems like a lot of tax ($7.00). I asked how they came up with that price?? I was informed that the menu's were old. My Chimichangas was simply a beef burrito slathered in a red sauce (no flavor) which made the burrito a slimy mess. No lettuce no Cilantro and no flavor!! Tonight we ordered potato flautas, an avocado taco, a steak burrito, and chips with guacamole. Every single thing we ate was bland and boring. I cannot even begin to tell you how bland my the food was. There was not one redeeming quality about the meal we ate I'm general I find it hard to rate anything Uber 3 stars, but this place was just not good at all. I didn't rate it as a one star solely because my food came on time and was still warm when we got it.
