It's a nice little cozy setup for being outdoors, and they have heaters, which makes it comfortable even when it's cold outside. Carne asada tacos are hit or miss. Sometimes the seasoning is a little too salty, and other times it hits the spot perfectly. It really depends on who's working. The guy who always wears the hat (I think he might be part owner) makes the best tacos they're flavorful and cooked just right. When the other brother is working, the carne asada can be salty and the rice sometimes tastes mushy, like it might be from the day before. This unassuming taco truck in a gas station parking lot has the menu on the outside of the truck but you have to go inside the makeshift patio to order. The space is heated on cold days and you can use the bathroom in the gas station. Despite the inconvenience and unassuming appearance they have the best tacos in the county and the Seattle Times food critics agree, ranking this truck among the top three in the state. It can get busy during lunch but the service is super quick and ingredients are fresh. You can't go wrong with any of the tacos but the birria ramen is the best and comes in a huge bowl with plenty of meat. They are famous for their consommé soup. They will also make off menu items such as huevos rancheros. Be sure to try their home made agua fresca which features different flavors daily. Horchata is always good but the coconut and watermelon are my favorites. In the winter they have champurrado which is Mexican version of hot chocolate. They have different sauces which are all home made from scratch ranging from mild to extra spicy. If you enjoy spice make sure you ask for their Serrano peppers which they will grill for you on the spot and serve as a side. This is owned by a local family that lives a few blocks away and the owners are always cooking up the food themselves for consistent quality. Come taste what the hype is about. read more

We stopped by on Tuesday and it happened to be their taco Tuesday special! We tried their adobada, carnitas, and quesobirria tacos. All were delicious! The carnitas were so tender and had the crunch on the outside, the adobada was spicy and full of flavor, but the star of the show was their quesobirria tacos! Perfect crunchy tortilla, just the right amount of cheese with the edges that crisp up, meat that was melt in your mouth tender, and real, delicious consume that you could drink straight. Their salsas were a perfect addition, lots of options for different flavor preferences, which I love because I like different flavor profiles with different types of meat in my tacos! read more

Our first stop in Seattle after leaving the airport happened to be this rinky dink gas station and taco truck. After parusing the menu, mostly a placard on the truck it seemed that the quesa Birria tacos seemed tasty just by the picture. We got some chips, guacamole, salsa, and some other dishes for the kids. I will absolutely say the quesabirria stole the show. It was the first time I ever heard of this dish and I've been on a mission to order it as many place as possible back home in the north east. If my memory serves me correct it seems like these were shredded beef tacos with cheese fried on the griddle with cheese crisped on the outside. It's a little more expensive than the other items as it comes with a beef broth consume. The broth was amazing as an addition dip but was also great to lap down as a soup after we ate the taco. I've eaten here so many times but just a small update. I was craving nachos and this place did it for me. Honestly they make good food and now you can order online. I did that and my order wasn't actually on time but I'll give a little leeway in that they were busy. I opted for nachos with chicken, no beans and no jalapenos. Usually they will put cheese sauce on nachos which I do not like, so I put on my order regular shredded cheese please. They were delicious. My husband had 3 asada tacos. The reviews were spot on. It's fresh, authentic, friendly service, made to order so very hot and perfect to eat there or take back home or to the office and still have a hot meal. The menu selection is pretty impressive. I ordered Birria ramen, three quesa birria (but only received two), mulitas, and large rice and beans. The ramen was way more than I expected and super filling. My family enjoyed the birria and mulitas with rice and beans and thoroughly enjoyed them. The reviews for this place are beyond belief. You already know from my score that I am not in complete agreement, but here is another honest, unfiltered review. I'll start by saying the service could not have been any friendlier. I can also tell you that the prices are also reasonable. I had a single taco and flautas plate. The food was good, better than you would expect and certainly better than 99% of trucks and fast-food places out there, but it was a but short on flavor. In my opinion, everything needed salt and that was not just the food, but the hot sauces as well. If you don't season your food, I have to rely on the sauce for that extra kick and the sauces did not deliver. In addition, as advised, I had the flautas plate and the picture showed a side of guacamole, I didn't get guac, I got sour cream, so I don't know if that was a mistake or if they have changed how the dish is served, but trust me when I tell you, I expected guac and declined to say anything because I didn't want customers to overhear my concern. In the end, the food was good, but far from life changing and since it took 20 minutes to get here, it's unlikely I'll be returning any time soon. I'm really tired of ethnic places watering down recipes! When you say your recipes are generational, but they lack salt or heat, I can't trust you. I'm in the 3.5 range, but again, since everyone was really nice, I'll bump it up to 4, but even that is generous based on my meal not resembling the advertised image for it. These are hardworking people, but unfortunately, they did not bring their A game on my visit. read more

There's a reason why this place has amazing reviews! This truck has the BEST quesabirria tacos and consome that I've had yet! The consome broth has great depth of flavor. You can tell they cook it for a while. I really appreciate that you get chucks of tender meat in the consome unlike most places. This is one of the few places I've been to that doesn't skimp on the meat in the taco. The service was great! And it was very clean. There's an add-on dining area if you want to "dine-in". Every time I stop by, my tacos never make it home. These tacos have to be eaten hot while still crunchy. This past summer they offered food for students which I thought was an amazing act of community service. The owner is a great person and fun to chat with. read more

Wow this place is absolutely Delicious!! I'm from Los Angeles and I know good Mexican food and not sorry to admit I have high standards... I had the quesabirria tacos with consommé... all I can say is wow it transported me back to east la taco trucks in the best way. I never thought I'd find such a hidden treasure in a gas station but this place is so so good do yourself a favor and try the birria here it was so soft and tender, and dripping with flavor! I came here for the first time on the weekend and noticed they added guacamole and tomatoes inside which I haven't had before when ordering on the weekday - loved it!! I finally had the chance to try the birria tacos with the consomme (soup) and it was delicious as well. A couple of the tacos had way too much cheese for me, but I just picked it out. Sure, sex is great, but have you ever found an incredible taco truck next to your house one day? Like of all the things that make a neighborhood truly great, from libraries to parks to good public education, I feel that top tier taco trucks are entirely overlooked as a cornerstone of world class urban development. We came up to the truck 10 minutes before closing, which as someone whose first job in a kitchen can tell you, is kinda a rude move. A lot of places tend to start closing by then, but they were super happy to put together our order which consisted of 4 separate entrees. (If you're reading this, I promise we'll come back again, and earlier next time!!) I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicana, which you might notice there's no picture of. I apologize for nothing, you'll understand if you order them. Some of the best enchiladas I've had in a long time, by far. The fried lamb tacos were awesome, well balanced, and fantastic with the consome (which was also better than almost any restaurant *without* wheels has made in my experience) The tacos were fresh and the salsa that came with them was actually spicy but with lots of flavor, which is always appreciated. If I wanted white people spicy, I'd put mayo on them. OH, bonus! Their horchata is the best I've had!! Super creamy, not overly sweet, and perfect amount of cinnamon.
