Barbacoa (left) and al pastor (right) tacos
    Della S.

The people working here are so nice and the food is great, too! You can pay by cash or by Zelle. I decided to try their tacos ($3 each) with al pastor and barbacoa, which came with a side of grilled onions and peppers. The tortillas are soft, fresh, and do not rip when you pick up the food. Both types of meat I tried were tasty. The salsa they give you is on the milder side, but if you want something with a spicier kick then I recommend trying the grilled pepper. I stopped by on a random weekday at 11am so it wasn't too busy yet. They prepared my food quickly after I ordered and I got to eat at one of the lined tables in the covered area behind the truck. They keep a tupperware container of napkins at the table and bring the salsa from its cold storage to your table so that it stays fresh between customers. There is also a large speaker that plays music, so it is not a bad vibe at all for a taco truck next to a gas station!

Pastor super burrito! Lots of meat!!

I drive past this truck all the time, and finally stopped to try it on a whim and I'm so glad I did!! Grabbed a pastor super burrito for myself and two pastor tacos for my brother! The burrito is amazing, lots of flavor, and a great balance of meat/rice/sour cream/avocado/etc!! The tacos were also really good, I'd post a picture of those too but they disappeared too quickly! Will definitely get more than two of those next time!

The super burrito is a 5 star feast. Half a chicken burrito is enough for a meal and they are delicious. It's a little treat.

Their Al pastor tacos are cheap and delicious, as is everything on the menu!! They also have an area set up to enjoy your meal.

We've tried their fish, carnitas, and birria tacos - all of which were amazing, though the birria and fish tacos were the clear standouts. The mango paired with the crispy fish is a true winner & you can't beat the ultimate comfort food of the birria taco. The presentation of the food is also stunning, with dishes served beautifully on black slate plates and mini cast-iron pans. I have to give a special shout-out to the chef: this is officially the only restaurant where I have actually finished the accompanying sides of refried beans and rice. They were absolutely outstanding! If you haven't been to Hercules yet, it is a must-visit. Don't miss out on their great drinks either--the hibiscus margarita is highly recommended!

Enjoyed the large tables, lights and ambiance. Would be a fun place for a group to get together. Now for the food - we were very happy with everything we ordered. We started with the queso fundido which was smaller than I expected but very good! For entrees we tried the quesabirria and fish tacos. The birria taco may have been my favorite bite! Delicious!! The enchiladas trio was also well executed. Tried the TJ Caesar Salad, the tamales and the chips and guac. The guac was another star, but the tamales were probably my next favorite bite. I would recommend trying 1 of each of the flavors. All were good and the sweet corn tamale was a surprise hit!! Would definitely come back here again!

He went for a breakfast burrito with chorizo, and I opted for some Huevos rancheros. I also ordered a pineapple Agua Fresca, expecting a bit of tang, but it leaned more on the sweet side, which was still enjoyable. The prices were super reasonable; our whole meal, including my drink, came out to around $36-$40. Plus, they brought out complimentary chips and salsa right away! Their salsa is fantastic, the flavor was just perfect. The restaurant is tucked away in a plaza with plenty of parking. We were seated immediately and given menus. I loved that they had lots of booth seating, which is always a win for me. The vibe is incredibly casual and relaxed; you could practically roll in wearing your PJs. It's definitely a nice, enjoyable, and laid-back spot for a meal.

As always the place was clean, and the staff was friendly, and the food wasn't gross or anything, but it was completely lacking in any flavor. I mean the shredded beef had ZERO spice to it. It used to be just right. The guacamole and pico were also super bland. I mean I am talking I was worried I'd come down with COVID when we left, because nothing tasted seasoned or spicy. (I checked, I was fine and healthy) It was well cooked, the plate was well arranged, it looked like it had been prepared with care, but there just no flavor to it. So I am sad that what used to be the best shredded beef chimichanga, is no longer any good. The prices seemed to have gone up (which I get is just a thing that is happening now, because of you know) but we liked them enough that that would not have stopped us coming back if the food had literally had any spice to it at all. But for what they are charging now, I need the food to taste like what it should.

A slight kick but overall nice to hold over until the main dish. Since this is Paella, we shared a single dish: the Iberico Paella. It had Iberico smoked pork chop and pork belly, as well as roasted chicken and piquillo peppers. I've always wanted to have paella of this quality, and will be returning just for this. As for our drinks, they had amazing cocktails, such as the Barceloneta Sangria (sparkling wine with prickly pear and lemon) and the Teleferic Sangria (a cinnamon and mint mixed drink, with gin, brandy and triple sec). The atmosphere itself was very relaxed and made me feel at home, with soft chairs and open to the outdoors. Overall, this dinner is one we plan to repeat very soon!

The location is great! The food and the sangrias were very good, and I loved they had lighter sparkling wine Sangria options for warm days or for people who prefer a light drink. The service was a little spotty, so minus 1 star: I was the only customer at the bar, but I had trouble the entire time getting the bartender's attention, which was a little tiresome. However, everyone else was very friendly, and one lovely employee approached me, and we had a nice conversation. I was very surprised to see an automatic 20% tip. I have seen that for parties of 8 and over, but never for one person. I am not sure how I feel about that. I always tip 20% or more anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter? I don't know! Do people in Los Gatos not tip well????
