The tray was already set neatly with napkin, fork, a hefty portion of complimentary chips, a small dish of house-made salsa, and also a large salsa bottle! I enjoyed the multi-fruit-infused water. They have quite a bit of outdoor seating, and I appreciated how they had bottles of hand sanitizer around the restaurant where people touch cups and beverage machines. It's decorated with fitting, pretty artwork, and cute table cloths. I appreciated how the staff really cleaned the floor and tables around me as I ate. I ordered horchata agua fresca and 3 buche tacos ($6.99)! I believe they said it was beef stomach. The tacos were delicious with lots of meat and fresh onions. The salsa and chips were hearty and warm. Would be back if I'm ever in the area! Let's start with the good: The staff were super friendly and the place has a chill ambiance with lots of airflow. I dined in and was given a generous portion of chips and a tomato-based salsa that was surprisingly spicy for a chips salsa. The salsa verde was tangy and well seasoned, whereas the red salsa was hot but well-balanced and not mean. My food came out quickly and the accompanying grilled jalapeño was a nice touch. The not so good: basically each of the tacos. The asada was very beefy and there was lots of it, definitely the best of the three. The carnitas were kind of bland and one-note with regards to the texture: no crispy bits, and definitely needed salsa to improve the flavor profile. The Al pastor was, unfortunately, my least favorite. There were several pieces of really chewy meat and the meat seemed to have an odd spice flavor, like cinnamon or another warming spice that kind of put me off. I really want to like this place and the actual experience was very pleasant! I saw some other guests order plates and fish burritos, both of which looked good. The quality, quantity and flavors aren't the same. The nachos had less than half of what they used to, very dry and with many bare chips. Love, love, LOVE this place! I go here at least once a week, and typically get the $6 bean and cheese burrito. It's my go to Mexican meal and Tacos Al Pastor #2 does it the BEST! All of their food is delicious and their homemade salsas are phenomenal. The green one is my favorite. All of the workers are very nice and the food comes out fast. I order through Door Dash and it's normally ready in 5 minutes! It's a nice environment with many tables indoors and outdoors. I've never eaten there, but they always have customers. Parking is hard because of a martial arts studio next door, but you can park on the street or in the lot across the street. Come on down! Que ricos tacos! I came a couple of months ago to this place in the tacos alpastor were super good, I just had to come and try them again. Today I had the special, three tacos of Cabeza fir $6.99, they were so good, they always have a special deal everyday. Saturdays and Sundays they serve menudo and Caldo de rez. I had a little taste of the caldo de red and it's really good. They have great customer service here and they also give you free chips and salsa when dinning in or to-go. What happened to my review I had reviewed this restaurant before, maybe is just vanished into thin air. Here goes nothing. I have tried, quesadilla, tacos, torta, burrito, nachos and the flautas, they were all pretty amazing because not greasy and not overkill on the fat. AWESOME. I like each item I have ordered for differant reasons, I will say that the tacos are my absolute go to for the nice big chunks of meat filled to the brim, also the super tacos come with whole beans that are soft and ready to eat. I think the nachos can easily feed 3 people because those servings of meat and condiments is absolutely massive! Overall we do take out and eat with my family and we are happy! Enso forever. Unfortunately they messed up my order. when I got home I found out they gave me a Fish burrito instead, that I did not enjoy. The tacos was not to my liking either. The complimentary freshly made fried corn tortilla chips and salsa are delicious. I got food poisoning on August 28th 2024. My friend and I were so sick. I know that it was Taco El Pastor because somebody else posted another review, and they got food poisoning on that day. We have been eating at this restaurant for over 10 years, and we have never had a problem. The food is delicious, and they're generous with the taco meat. The Salsa is absolutely delicious. I think if I asked for over-easy they would be fine w/ it but I ordered the chicken fajitas and a small carne asada burrito. I ordered Gavin a kid's burrito (shredded chicken) and comes w/ fries. The kid's burrito is the same size as the small burrito so if you want to save money and/or limit the fried foods your kids are eating then order the small burrito. I forgot what other kid's items they have but we were both pretty satisfied. I barely touched my fajitas and didn't touch the burrito at all so I boxed it home. The chicken fajitas = very generous portion, the rice was a tad under-seasoned, the chicken was a bit overcooked but weirdly the bell peppers were under-cooked (some pieces were hard) but the beans and everything came together nicely. Gavin enjoyed both burritos (his that night and he ate mine the following day). The chips/salsa was complimentary.. the salsa was good and packed a little heat but the chips were a bit stale. This is easily becoming one of my favorite spots for Mexican food in San Jose! I tried the caldo de camarones yesterday and it was soooo delicious!!! The caldo is so tasty (it tastes like potatoes and different spices), it comes with a lot of veggies (zucchini, potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, etc.) and they are not stingy with the shrimp. It was a large serving. I have enough for left overs for today. My partner got super tacos with carne asada, carnitas, chile colorado and pastor and loved them all. Came here craving a burrito since it's been so long. Wanted to also make it a short walk to get my steps in for dinner so I thought why not? I ordered carnitas burrito. Sadly it doesn't hit the spot. The carnitas was bland and dry whilst being $13-$14 after tax. Even trying to fulfill a craving, unfortunately the burrito here was a struggle to eat after the second bite. Doesn't look like much when you arrive to the parking lot but their tacos are great! I came by with my boyfriend for an early lunch and we ordered 4 pastor tacos (can't remember the name of the specific taco dish), fish tacos, side order of rice and chips and guacamole. Everything came out pretty quickly. The pastor tacos were delicious. The pastor wasn't too spicy (which was perfect since I can't handle anything too spicy). The fish tacos were huge - almost double the size of 1 pastor taco. I like the guacamole as well and we got a free refill of chips. I'm still on the hunt for the best taco in SJ. I thought Tacos Al Pastor might be the one but alas I was letdown. They are still serving during COVID and I ordered 3 tacos with eveything. I went with 2 chicken and one carne asada. Probably should've went with the Al Pastor but I'm moving away from pork. I also ordered a chicken burrito which came with chips and salsa. The good: They give you a lot of food. The tacos are stuffed and the burrito is packed. The chips and salsa are pretty good. The okay: The meat isn't seasoned too well and I wasn't a huge fan of the salsas that they give you with your food. The chicken burrito was surprisingly bland and I'm not quite sure what happened. I ordered the small tacos basic carne asada onions cilantro and not happy. Missing a crucial ingredient called SALT. As a cook you have to season and try what you are cooking it's pretty simple. Tacos looked great with generous portions of meat unfortunately the meat was bland. Sometimes you can compensate for bland meat with a great salsa however there salsa needs some work they need to blend in some salt onions and a little garlic and taste once blended. Horrible service make sure you count your money in front of the cashier and give it to her together. My father and uncle went today, we only had a specific amount of cash in their wallet. They gave her $20 bill first and then counted the $9 in singles to complete the total. When I handed them over the lady literally forgot that a $20 bill was handed to her first and went forth to say that we only wanted to give her $9 for the meal ordered. Along with other attitude. What a great, kid-friendly place. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Our server went out of her way to remember to refund us when they were out of stock on an item.
