Love, love, LOVE this place! I go here at least once a week, and typically get the $6 bean and cheese burrito. It's my go to Mexican meal and Tacos Al Pastor #2 does it the BEST! All of their food is delicious and their homemade salsas are phenomenal. The green one is my favorite. All of the workers are very nice and the food comes out fast. I order through Door Dash and it's normally ready in 5 minutes! It's a nice environment with many tables indoors and outdoors. I've never eaten there, but they always have customers. Parking is hard because of a martial arts studio next door, but you can park on the street or in the lot across the street. I can't get enough of this place and will be getting their food for years to come.

What happened to my review I had reviewed this restaurant before, maybe is just vanished into thin air. Here goes nothing. I have tried, quesadilla, tacos, torta, burrito, nachos and the flautas, they were all pretty amazing because not greasy and not overkill on the fat. AWESOME. I like each item I have ordered for differant reasons, I will say that the tacos are my absolute go to for the nice big chunks of meat filled to the brim, also the super tacos come with whole beans that are soft and ready to eat. I think the nachos can easily feed 3 people because those servings of meat and condiments is absolutely massive! Overall we do take out and eat with my family and we are happy! Enso forever. Torta combo torta, fries and drink 12.00 ++ask to have the fries extra crispy like IN N OUT. Small parking lot. Ask for chips and salsa. Lime water. 7. If I had nine hours to chop down a tree, I'd spend the first six sharpening my axe. --Abraham Lincoln

I really like the tacos here. The food is so fresh and tasty. I highly recommend sitting down and dining in to get the best experience. They give you free tortilla chips and salsa. I ask for two salsas and they oblige lol. I got three tacos today and they were so good Taco chico carne asada x 2: 4.5/5 Taco chico al pastor 4.5/5 The al pastor has teeny tiny pieces of pineapple, so yummy The tortillas are so yummy too wow. So they give you a ton of meat so what I do with the meat that falls on the plate as i eat, I take one of the two tortillas they give per taco and use that to wrap the ton of stray meat that fell and make myself another taco lol. Love it. I love how you can ask for their bottled salsas. b/c I LOVE salsas lol. I came here with the hubs who is Mexican and he said the tacos are good there too! My cousin came too with us one time and she loved her plate she got. I've been here three times in the last 1.5 months which is a lot for me. I can't believe they are open from 9am to 8PM. Love it. The parking lot is small but there's always parking when i come in the middle of the day or late morning. We came on a Sunday for lunch and we found parking that time too. I love how they give you a lemon wedge and two little roasted chili's too

Came in for a quick lunch and ordered the taco salad, beef. Service was friendly and quick and the place inside reminds me of an old house with tile and art on the walls. The beef was tasty albeit a little tough and wasn't seasoned much, but the veggies were fresh and the fried tortilla was a nice touch eat with he lettuce.

Tacos Al Pastor is my favorite Mexican restaurant that has amazing authentic delicious Mexican cuisine. There is plenty of seating inside and in the outside gated patio area. The complimentary freshly made fried corn tortilla chips and salsa are delicious. Two carnitas hard shell tacos with cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and salsa with Mexican red rice and refried beans were fantastic. They are very generous with the food portions and the prices are extremely affordable.

Disgusting 9$ nachos. No jalapeños, guacamole or sour cream. Just beans and cheese.
    Betty C.

Do you want to pay 9$ for beans and cheese nachos? No jalapeños on the salsa bar anymore. No sour cream. No guacamole? No one understand what you want to order and just says yes when you ask questions. Ordered a traditional chavela and it comes out dark. Usually made with modelo or corona. This was a bust visit that cost me 27$. Prices went up exponentially since covid and service has gone down! Evidently, they have no jalapeños, per the wait staff. Will NOT be back again. Do not recommend.

3.5, rounding it up. It's small but has about 12-15 tables, lines can get long, and parking can be a challenge if you go during the rush. Thankfully Gavin and I walked in about 5 minutes before a sea of people walked in. They take phone orders so be wary that you might have to stand there and wait for the phone order to be placed. A pretty decent menu, offers a ton of variety. I saw chilaquiles but they lost me once I saw scrambled eggs. I think if I asked for over-easy they would be fine w/ it but I ordered the chicken fajitas and a small carne asada burrito. I ordered Gavin a kid's burrito (shredded chicken) and comes w/ fries. The kid's burrito is the same size as the small burrito so if you want to save money and/or limit the fried foods your kids are eating then order the small burrito. I forgot what other kid's items they have but we were both pretty satisfied. I barely touched my fajitas and didn't touch the burrito at all so I boxed it home. The chicken fajitas = very generous portion, the rice was a tad under-seasoned, the chicken was a bit overcooked but weirdly the bell peppers were under-cooked (some pieces were hard) but the beans and everything came together nicely. Gavin enjoyed both burritos (his that night and he ate mine the following day). The chips/salsa was complimentary.. the salsa was good and packed a little heat but the chips were a bit stale. Wonderful service. I think the lady that brought out our food was taken aback by the amount of food I ordered. Yeah, I can eat and sometimes my eyes are bigger than my stomach. I enjoyed the rest of my fajitas the next day. Still scrumptious.

This is easily becoming one of my favorite spots for Mexican food in San Jose! I tried the caldo de camarones yesterday and it was soooo delicious!!! The caldo is so tasty (it tastes like potatoes and different spices), it comes with a lot of veggies (zucchini, potatoes, carrots, bell pepper, etc.) and they are not stingy with the shrimp. It was a large serving. I have enough for left overs for today. My partner got super tacos with carne asada, carnitas, chile colorado and pastor and loved them all. Our roomie tried the pozole and said it was very good as well.

We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. Unfortunately inflation and the economy has changed the prices and food sizes, but at least it still tastes good. Some of my favorites here over the years have been the salmon tacos, Esquites, Enchiladas De Camarone and suizas, and the bacon guac. I used to not bat an eye and order whatever I wanted, but now I do have to think a little bit more so that the bill doesn't get too high. This location has a super cute front patio, it's bright, light, and airy, transporting you out of San Jose and right to a vacation mode. Even though it's on a pretty busy road, the traffic isn't usually distracting. Parking in the area can be hard, there's a couple paralele spots and then it's all neighborhood parking on the side of the street with the restaurant. Across the street can be a little bit easier.

They have seating out front inside and in the back, but the place was pretty full. Nonetheless, we were seated quickly as we had a reservation. It is a good idea to call ahead and make one. The prices are high, but hopefully all their people are making a good living and the portions are enough for our appetites at least. I had the shrimp enchiladas, and my wife had the vegetarian tacos with a side order of scrambled eggs. There was nearly a mixup as the waiter thought we wanted to order an egg taco and that's considerably more expensive but we got it straightened out with the maitre D. We also shared a Paloma cocktail with which has a pretty color and delightful taste.

This made it so seamless to reserve here. Our group got there at opening and our table was ready and most of the group was already seated when we got there. Drink orders were flowing as the waitress caught up to me and I got a cafe de olla. We browsed the menu and the more I looked the harder it was to pick one thing. I ended up choosing chilaquiles with a bandera sauce and carne asada as the added protein. The rest of the table got all different types of dishes from carne en su jugo to birria to omelettes. While we enjoyed each other's company sipping on our cafecito I enjoyed the ambiance of the space. Nicely decorated for the holidays. Since it was opening time it wasn't as loud as I imagine it can get in there. The sun did shine on the faces of those facing the windows which was not enjoyable for them. There was no way to cover the sun either since it was coming in from the top windows with no shade. My food came out along with the rest of the plates and we went right in to enjoy them. My favorite chilaquiles was covered in the white sauce. The red and green were good but the white sauce was my favorite. The carne was cooked well but I could taste it wasn't marinated or lacked flavor. I didn't get a knife to cut the meat so it was very difficult to enjoy a piece with my chilaquiles. It was hard to cut with a butter knife. I thought it would be a piece of steak but it was a piece of carne asada. Eggs were scrambled and cooked well. The whole plate was filling, had flavor, and was a good portion. The cafe de olla had a good flavor but a tad sweet for my preference. The space in here is a vibe. A fun place to enjoy large gatherings. I came for breakfast but will update when I come back to visit for dinner. Bathrooms are clean. Staff was welcoming and efficient in taking care of our group. Hospitality was a 10/10. Parking in the am was a breeze but at prime time I can see it being a complete nightmare so plan accordingly. I enjoyed my visit and will come back to check out the dinner menu.

Tasting the green (mild?) salsa was my favorite. It had a great tomatillo flavor with a creamy spiciness. It was a good reprieve from my main dish. A Paloma was my drink of choice this time. I'll preface this by saying I'm not a fan of tequila but when presented with the cold clay mug rimmed with salt and topped with orange and grapefruit, I was impressed. It was delicious, so refreshing, fragrant, and cold! A nice counterbalance to my meal. Chilaquiles was a dish I wanted to try. They had delicious chips again cooked in salsa verde. Covered with eggs (any style) fresh crema, avocado, and onions the chilaquiles exceeded my expectations. So simple yet so flavorful. Mixing up quantities of ingredients in each bite made for a delicious experience. My favorite element being the sharpness of the onions which cut the richness of the dish. I'm generally not a fan of refried beans but these ones had such a unique and satisfying flavor which complimented the dish well. My server, Luis was very helpful and quick to check in and make sure I was doing okay! I cannot wait to try out their fish tacos and various drinks from the menus next time!
