Omg. This is literally the best Mexican food I ever ate. The steak is bbq'd. The prices are super reasonable. The burrito the first bite I tasted the bbq steak. Delicious flavor. The taco was so tasty! There wasn't a line n I was shocked. I went back today n got a super steak taco. Perfect. The ppl r super nice and food is served fast there's also a place to eat. There is also another truck for plates. Chicken steak shrimp n ceviche. They also got 2-ways n 4-ways. Yummmm. Definitely recommend!

This place has a new look!

Best tacos I had in sf to date. I never thought I would try this place. I did, steak is actually grilled, pastor is not greasy. Hidden gem forsure!!

Still some of the best tacos in S.F. Come here any time I'm passing through 3rd street. It's super in the cuts tho.

Look at all the chewy fat and not meat in this nasty burrito, rip off! I have only ate 1/3 and will not eat the 2/3 remaining.

I asked for a carne asara burrito and got a burrito of chewy fat for about $10. It is wrong to sell your customers chewy fat instead of steak! Also the short lady taking orders is rude as hell. Go treat yourself to a real burrito at Taqueria Azteca a few blocks away for better quality food and 100% better service where you can actually watch them make your food in front of you and never pull what these people are doing! Why is there never smoke coming from this truck? Why does everyone reach into the same cooler with dirty ass hands to get their drinks especially in times of COVID-19 (corona)? I'm done wit his this roach coach :)

Update: Recent restaurant safety inspection gives them a 98. So, if you're worried about taco trucks because you're a weakling hypochondriac, maybe that'll help. They do a ceviche tostada and it's great. ...Pile of ceviche on top of a crispy tostada with avocado slices on top. Good stuff! Not the most high-end ceviche in the world in that there aren't whole shrimps, etc, in there but rather it's all chopped up into the mix. Still extremely tasty though! Putting it on top of a tostada is a great idea, and it's very well priced compared to your typical ceviche! Breakfast burritos, which I hadn't had before because mornings are not my thing, are wonderful. Huge, tasty, etc. (BTW in the early morning the truck is usually not in the same spot. They tend to be a block up towards McDonald's somewhere between Yosemite and Van Dyke) ...my 'usual' is now 1 carnitas sopes (darn good) and a ceviche tostada... The owner (whether or not his name is Primo, I actually don't know), btw, is a super nice guy if I didn't mention that last time! Jeremy

Drinks which was not okay to grab

Terrible. Went to an event and the taco truck was hired to cater for food. (The host prepaid the "business" to give food to the guest. Which would be free to the guest.) They had their menu up so I figured, I would order the nachos. They said "no nachos, only tacos, quesadillas, or burritos". He also said we can't take the drinks from the truck which was visible for people to grab. If it's there, why can't we take it. As for the menu, why can't we order stuff from the menu if it's showing the food items. It would have been better to update the menu to avoid confusion and disappointment. These people were just being lazy on putting the drinks away and updating the menu for the private event. I just feel like this so called "business" is just lying to customers.

That was really good, I had a carnitas torta this morning at 1100 am and I'm still full 7pm

I'll definitely go back if I'm in the area, I want to try their tacos. Also I heard their doors are good. They also have a small indoor seating. Just hard to find parking

    Breakfast burrito yum!

Breakfast burrito review only. Wow the breakfast burrito here is pretty damn good and it's huge to boot. This is a true Mission style burrito but in breakfast form (aka with eggs!) It also has potatoes and even though I don't like them when they aren't as crisp/crunchy, the ones here were just right. I got mine loaded and with ham, since that seemed to be the only meat option for the breakfast burrito. It's not very greasy but just right and if it wasn't so far away from where I normally am in the city, I'd hit this spot up. If you are down in Bayview/Hunters Point make sure to drop by. I came on a Saturday morning and it was open, so I think the hours listed on Yelp are incorrect.

Being a native Bay Area person, I always heard about the burrito wars in San Francisco's Mission…read moreDistrict. Over the years I've found myself drawn to the other contender in the Mission way more than El Farolito, so I decided it was time to head back to try this legendary burrito shop. Getting to this location is super simple as we took BART and got off at the 24th Street Mission BART station and from there it's a very short walk of less than a block to get to El Farolito. Walking into the shop one is just slapped in the face with the beautiful smells of the carne asada cooking on the grill right by the door-it's wonderful. It's a modest place that you can definitely tell was built many years ago,so no overly modern amenities-this place cares about the food, not the ambiance. We ended up going with a couple of super burritos of Carne Asada ($11.25) & a regular burrito of Al Pastor($10.25) & also added two tacos one with Al Pastor and one with Carne Asada($4.75) They had beers at $4.75-so we grabbed a couple of Modelos. First the tacos-they were just ok,the tacos were crunchy and I don't know kind of gave Taco Bell vibes. Burritos though-that's a whole different animal. The burrito was so well made from the chew of the tortilla to the seasoning of the carne asada to the perfect balance and mix of all the other ingredients.I judge a burrito harshly if the mix isn't right and you don't get every ingredient in every bite and the mix at El Farolito was flawless. The price point was pretty impressive as well. In closing, El Farolito has always been in the mix as one of the top burrito spots in the Mission, and I can say with confidence that it's in my Top 2 in San Francisco currently. It's an incredible burrito and a true "must-visit" spot when visiting San Francisco. P.S. Just a slight heads up when visiting , it's not the safest neighborhood in the world, so just keep your head up when visiting-this is a place one visits for the food experience not the ambiance.

After waiting about 30 minutes, I assumed my order would be ready when I arrived. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. They don't actually prepare the order ahead of time you still have to wait in the long line, then pay and apparently have the order made afterward. Honestly, what is the point of calling ahead if you're still required to stand in the same line and wait? I understand that they may be busy, but the whole purpose of calling ahead should be to make the process quicker and more convenient. The food may be good, but the ordering process was frustrating and completely defeated the purpose of calling ahead. Two stars from me based on the experience.

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!
