Chicken and Beef Combo rating 6.5/10 Aesthetically pleasing but on the drier side for my taste :(

Janet's Mediterranean Duarte, CA Date went 5/6/26 Time went 10:37am it didn't appear to be too busy Establishment Clean and had ample table seating for in house eating; I ordered at the touch screen kiosk placed right in front of the entry when you enter. Staff weren't present at the counter when I arrived, but greeted me when they came out to bring somebody's else's food to the dining area. Ordered food at 10:38am Got my food at 10:43am 5 minute wait time, quite possibly the quickest wait time I've seen at an establishment Food ordered Chicken and Beef Combo $24.49 With taxes grand total was $27.06 Food ratings Chicken and Beef Combo - 6.5/10 I was so sadden by the amount I spent for this combo. While the chicken and beef looked aesthetically pleasing the texture was a little bit on the drier side for my taste. The rice was good. The salad looked sad and not appetizing, I didn't even eat it and I HATE wasting food. My pita bread came inside a "PITA DOUX" package; as if it was purchased from a store and left in the bag it was purchased from. I essentially paid $27 for 5 pieces of beef and 6 pieces of chicken and some rice :( I won't be coming here again.

This place was a hidden gem in Duarte, they give plenty of Mediterranean food. It's enough for sharing, we ordered a chicken and beef kabobs. The meat was moist and tender. Which was the highlight of it all. You can't go wrong eating great food in this place. The only down fall is I wish they had drink fountains. Nothing but a nice cup with ice and a drink. But unfortunately it's either can soda or bottles. The service was slow at getting us our extra sides and dessert along with napkins.

I would've given this place five stars if it weren't for their questionable policy about not allowing customers to eat in the dining area. I arrived close to 7 p.m., and by the time I ordered, it was maybe a few minutes past. Since they close at 8, I figured I had plenty of time to sit and enjoy my meal. However, after placing my order, I was told the dining room was closed and I wouldn't be allowed to dine in. What made it more frustrating was that there was a couple already sitting in the dining area who were served their food around the same time I got mine. So if I'd been allowed to sit, I would've finished eating around the same time as they did. Strange rules aside, the food was really good. Everything tasted fresh, and the hummus is sooo much better than anything you'd buy at the store.

Janet's has been FANTASTIC! My family and I highly recommend it to anyone we can! Each visit to Janet's has been wonderful, with great food and extremely friendly service. I especially loved speaking with Rosalinda, who was super sweet and kind to my family and I Can't wait to come back for another visit to Janet's!

This is by far the best Mediterranean food I've had -- and I'm super picky when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine, so that says a lot! I went in with my brother during lunchtime. I ordered the Chicken Kebab plate and he got the Chicken and Beef Kebab combo. The portions were generous -- we even had leftovers to take home. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We dined in, and the service was great. The lady who took our order was friendly and even brought the food to our table when it was ready. They offer a good variety of bottled drinks, including some in glass bottles, which is a nice touch. The space is clean and comfortable with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They had sports on the TV while we were there, which added to the relaxed vibe. My only regret? Not getting the baklava! It looked amazing, but I was too full. Next time, I'm definitely grabbing some to-go.

Very authentic Mediterranean spot! I had the falafel plate and a side of dolmas. The dolmas had an interesting tomato twist that I wasn't the biggest fan of but I respect it (to be fair I have no idea the traditional recipes this comment is purely based on my personal experience). I would like if they had more plant based protein options and the service left more to be desired however I recognize it was a "dead time" possibly in between shifts. Regardless, I will be going back and for sure recommend if you're in the area.

    So good!

Mediterranean food is hard to find in the heart of the SGV. As I'm in this area, I had to take advantage of it and go to a Mediterranean restaurant. Food: I'm on a low carb diet and this lunch completely ruined my diet. I ordered the chicken lule plate and everything on the plate was so good...My first taste was the garlic dip with pita which set the tone for the meal. The dip had huge strong flavors. The hummas was also packed with flavor and very smooth. Salad was well dressed and plentiful. The chicken lule was moist and packed with flavor. The drippings was captured by a bed of rice to complete the meal. Service: Order at the counter and food brought to you. Casual dining. If you need hand holding type of service, this is not the place for you. Environment: Parking is plentiful. The seating area is kind of weird as it is next door to the actual order area. If you're yearning for more Mediterranean stuff, there is even a market next door. Price: Not bad for the type and amount of food you get. Food: 5 Service: 4 Environment: 4 Price: 5

We have been on the hunt for the best Mediterranean food and this is definitely on the top of the list. Everything was so fresh and flavorful! My partner has already planned his next meal here. The two of us shared a beef and chicken combo plate and it was more than enough food. The plate comes with grilled filet mignon and chicken, salad, hummus, pita, and a generous amount of rice. Every bite was amazing and we can't wait to try the rest of the menu. It's located on a pretty large plaza with plenty of parking spaces. Service was great and the staff were so friendly. If you are looking for a casual and chill spot for lunch or dinner, this is a great pick if you're in the area.

Just get the falafel. Now I dont expect everyone to drop what they are doing and rush to Duarte for falafel....but you could... This humble restaurant offers big taste and delivers quality everytime....and in this case...I believe hard work and the 'labor of love' proove a successful recipe. Located in a strip mall, Janet's seems like a grab and go joint for locals....but it's really falafel paradise. To be honest, i havent tried anything else here....but the falafel is very, very good. The falafel plate is a good size. Definitely large enough to satisfy a hungry appetite. It has amazing flavor with strong spices enhancing every bite. The crispy fried exterior contrasts nicely with the soft center and matches nicely with the flatbread, hummus and salad. The flavor of the falafel is great...but the lingering herbal aroma is heavenly. The service is very good when you order, and there is a dining area off to the side where you can eat there. Everything is kept clean and there is plenty of room for your friends. I will be back to try the kebabs....but the falafel has my heart!

Ambiance (5/5): Although we didn't sit inside, it was super cute, with classy boho vibes. The restroom was clean and well-decorated (although, not gonna lie, I don't know how I felt about the big mirror facing the toilet). The outside patio area was airy, and although right by the street, I didn't find it unpleasant. Service (3/5): It was just so-so. They sat us down quickly, gave us our menus and checked on us maybe twice. It wasn't super busy, but we had to wait to ask for things like extra plates and water for our dog. Food Overall (5/5): Food was delicious. We got the beef shawarma lunch special and got fries for the side (extra charge) and also the chicken shawarma lunch special with the hummus side. Beef Shawarma (4/5): It had a nice toasty flavor, perhaps from the spices, and the pickled veggies really complemented it. My only complaint was that I wish it had a bit more of the white sauce (maybe adding more hummus would have helped). It was also strangely a bit watery, maybe from the veggies. Overall, it was still a yummy wrap. Chicken Shawarma (5/5): The chicken shawarma tasted more balanced to me overall. I don't recall the meat being dry, although I did also slather it with a bit of hummus. I thoroughly enjoyed this wrap. Fries side (5/5): Their fries are made in house and it tastes so fresh. It was crispy on the outside yet still gooey and moist on the inside. I'm not sure if they make their own ketchup too, as it looked clumpier and tasted really fresh too. The kids gobbled this up. Hummus and pita (5/5): It came with a generous amount of both hummus and pita. The hummus was well flavored and blended, and it really complemented everything on the table. The pocket pita bread was not what I had in mind (I'm used to thicker ones), but the kids really loved it overall. Ice cream (4.5/5): We ordered two scoops from the dessert menu. They were both really thick, creamy and almost chewy like liquidized mochi. It was a very interesting texture but nonetheless a nice tasty treat on a hot day. I much preferred the vanilla bean, as the pistachio tasted and looked rather artificial (and I'm a pistachio ice cream lover). This place had so many to-go orders during the afternoon we were there. I can see why. Food is super fresh and tasty. I think we will be back the next time we are visiting.

The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. Absolutely love the food at this place. I had never had Lebanese food before but, this place made…read moreme a fan. They've always been super accommodating because my coworkers and I make pretty big orders and when I arrive, it's always ready and pack. Which is super helpful when you have to drive during rush hour. Now let's talk about the food. You have to get the beef shawarma wrap. I've had wraps here and there but, never have I had a wrap as good as the one I've had here. As soon as the took my first bite, my head started nodding up and down. As in yes, yes, yes....this is amazing. My other favorite food option is the Lahme. I never had anything like it. It flavorful and just keeps opening up the more you eat it. There is no lack of seasoning in any of food and everything a depth of flavor I've never experienced before. You can feed 1-2 people with either the beef shawarma or chicken shawarma plate. They are not shy with either protein. If I can give you some advice, it would be to eat there. Because if you get it to go, you will be starving and hangry all the way home because everything smells just as good as it taste. All the way to work I can hear my stomach rumbling because of how good everything smells.
