6/5/2026 After a long day at City of Hope my sister and I stopped at our favorite Restaurant to have our favorite dinner, Chicken Mole. Our waitress Linda quickly greeted us so gracefully. She took our order for our drinks and our food because we knew exactly what we wanted. She brought us chips and two bowls with salsa. The green salsa is my favorite. Title: Misleading survey reward - fine print appeared only after completion Review: I completed an online survey specifically because the restaurant offered a free mini dessert in exchange. After finishing the survey, I received a confirmation email for the dessert. When I showed the digital confirmation to our waitress, she had to get an approval from Alex the manager. Alex asked to see my phone to "prove" the receipt, then told the waitress the offer was actually meant for graduates only. Nowhere on the survey, the confirmation email, or any promotional material I saw was this graduate restriction mentioned. If I had known, I wouldn't have spent time filling out the survey. To make matters worse, I frequent this restaurant and have noticed that It Alex never visits any of the tables to check on customers. But he has no problem sitting with his family as though he owns the place. Offering a reward for completing a survey, then adding restrictions only after a customer tries to redeem it, feels misleading. A simple heads-up in the survey would have saved everyone time and frustration. I frequent this restaurant weekly and spend well over $100.00 on breakfast for both me and my wife we enjoy the food and the service we receive from the team but since Alex never visits any tables or customers while I'm there for Alex to question his own company's promotion I feel Alex should do his due diligence and know what his company his promoting. Solid Mexican restaurant chain, with a great happy hour deals on both food and drink. I think I've tried every flavor of margarita they have to offer now. Free chips and salsa with every order makes for great service. I've made many of meal out of the taquitos, they come fully loaded with cheese and toppings. Duarte Run Club meets outside the restaurant on Wednesday evenings, the restaurant extends happy hour to accommodate the club runners. read more

When my mother and I arrived, we stood at the front door, waiting to be seated. There were two waitresses, running around serving people. Since they were plenty of tables, my mother and I took a seat at one. We just came from the city of Hope and she was not able to stand very long. A tall waitress yelled at us and told us that we need to wait at the front door to be seated. Another waitress came over to our table. Happy to serve us. The green salsa is hot and delicious. I had enchiladas, red and green. I only ate half of my plates. For some reason, my stomach wouldn't let me finish the other half. My mom ate a few things off of her plate as well and took most of it home. We did buy some salsa to take home and flan for dessert. read more

Cabrera's Mexican Cuisine has good food & even better customer service. They are located South of Duarte right on Huntington Dr. with a huge parking in the back, as well as plenty of street parking in the front and sides. They are not a fancy restaurant and more like a lot cozy place for week day dinners or to celebrate a birthday with your familia. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which I love. Their prices are extremely reasonable as well. For example, I ordered the Parrillada Cielo Mar y Tierra which is a HUGE platter with grilled Salmon, breaded fish, garlic Shrimp, Carne Asada, grilled chorizo, two pieces of grilled Chicken breasts, pork carnitas, cheese fondue AND two Shrimp and Crab Enchiladas for under $80. We had not been here in awhile so our visit was a long time coming. There have been lots of changes since my last visit, namely outdoor seating and the addition of a semi enclosed patio. This is a nice touch for a place that can become crowded. We greeted and seated right away. The layout is wide open with semi-circle booths in the corner and clear view of big-ish tv screens. We were served cozy warm chips and red and green salsa. The green salsa was roasted and spiiiiiicy but had great flavor. Below is what we ordered: Hubs - chicken fajitas that looked really good! Me- two item combo: beef taquitos and a chile relleno (that was so good with the nopal from hubs' plate) Son - kids cheeseburger meal with fries Daughter - kids enchilada with rice and beans The rice and beans were very tasty. Food came out hot. Servings don't look substantial but they are - I was full! We accompanied our meals with drinks: Cadillac margaritas- deeelish and strong! Hubs enjoyed his Moscow mule. Came here last weekend after driving by so many times and in so glad we stopped in!! Good food, good atmosphere, watched a dodgers playoff game here, good fun. It's located on the south side of Huntington Drive in Duarte and has ample parking in the back and street. I've passed by many times and kept thinking I really should stop and try it. We've been to other Cabrera's but this one is the Best! The service is quick and steady- checking on us throughout the meal. There is a small bar area to the right of the entrance and seating inside and out. We ordered a drink Margaritas, which didn't taste like one - I was disappointed with it. I also tried a mixed drink that was 8 dollars and charged 4 dollars more to " make it a cocktail" needless to say this small glass wasn't a cocktail - so I won't be going for drinks!!!' However disappointed I was with the drinks, when the food came - I knew why I was there! We ordered the Carnitas plate and Chicken Mole. The carnitas were so tender and flavorful, the rice was fluffy and the beans tasty- This plate took me Home to mom's kitchen! So yummy and heartwarming! I have past this place for years. We had a white elephant dinner for our work Xmas party. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was what you expect from an Americanized mexican restaurant. The traditional cuisine has been muted from the spice level and seasonings to be more friendly to the masses. read more

We've been here 3 times, and this time was the last time we come here! I held back my frustration tonight. We ordered a wet burrito with a chile relleno inside it called " the champion". The first time it came out, there was no chile relleno in it, so we sent it back. Well, we got a new one, and we'll, there was no relleno in it again! So I let the manager know. Stopped by with a couple friends for lunch. We were seated immediately as it wasn't too busy on an early Friday afternoon. The inside was clean and spacious as the service was amazing and the staff checked in with us frequently. I ordered the 2 item combo and got taquitos and a beef taco. It was pretty good and hit the spot. The portion felt just right and I quite liked the plating. It was different than other Mexican places in the area. Would definitely come back to try other things. Still our favorite Cabrera's by far!!! We have other location closer to us, but this location in Duarte is the best! If we live closer we'll be there every week :D We love the service all the nice ladies provide, I finally got to ask their name to recognize them for their friendliness and prompt service. I don't understand, 100% of my orders here are wrong. They always package things differently so it's hard to open each to-go meal and check off every single thing. Need to remind myself not to toss my money and time away. There are many other outstanding Mexican restaurants nearby that don't have continuous issues. Basic, I had the parriada, and it was basic, the meats needed more flavoring and the carnitas tastes old. My husband said he liked it. I guess I'm more picky, my husband liked the tortillas. The rice and beans were pretty good and so was the guacamole. Our server was new so he was having difficulty answering our questions but he was attentive and trying his best. We passed the world renowned cancer treatment center City of Hope, stopped briefly to pay our respects¹ then pivoted onward to Cabrera's. The salsa is outstanding, both the customary red salsa they bring everyone plus the green one that Leti asked for. Leti ordered a skinny lime margaritas, which pleasant surprise is brought to the table in a distinctively larger glass than the ones she's ordered from the Arcadia location. $15 is a bit steep, however. We both ordered one of the house specialties- The Fajitas. Leti chose shrimp & chicken, I opted for steak + chicken. A+ grade for presentation!!! Cabrera's utilizes a wooden foundation, multi-compartment lifted tray to present their showcase entree- Call it their take on a Japanese style bento box!! A+ grade for the food itself! Ample portions, very good taste, well balanced proportion of meats to grilled, slivered braids of onion, green & red peppers. C grade for the caliber of service, tonight. Our server must've ended her shift or gone on lunch because we had a trio of servers helping us, but none of the characteristic "Hello, my name is Marcia and I'll be taking over for _____, who is going home" handoff that you often see at other restaurants. Been going here for years. We usually have a group of 10-15 people every other two weeks. After Bible study meeting.. So I thought it be good to introduce my uncle as he's a patient of St.Jude. Anyways, they accommodated us outside. Turned on the heater which was greatly appreciated . The female server was excellent. Very attentive. That's where the 3 stars go. Drinks were on point. The ceviche shrimp green enchiladas were just the way my uncle could eat them. He loved them. He has a terminal illness, So it was really nice to see him finally eat! Now the fajitas had mostly veggies. Tiny piece of meat. Like where's the beef? A few pieces of chicken. Again where's the puakpuaki (aka ) Did they run out of proteins? The manager was nice for the evening. I didn't make a fuss bc of my uncle's condition anything negative can trigger his heart. But I did mention it to one of the helpers. And was told oh I'm sorry. That was it. I called the following day and spoke with the day manager. I believe her name was Cris. She wasn't receptive at all! After explaining the delicate situation with my uncle!! She then again stated "you had to have told the manager because I can't do anything about it."Then said I don't know what to tell you. I told her I have a video of the food. She said well of u want to send it to me you can. But I can't help you even though you send it. THEN WHATS THE POINT? she said it really sarcastically!! So I asked who's the regional manger or owner. Not the best experience... I came here yesterday for mother's day with my mom since we recently moved and wanted to try local places. Cabrera's was highly recommended so we came early expecting a delay due to the holiday. It took less than 20 minutes to get seated and the original hostess was very nice and friendly. She sat us down and said our server will be with us shortly. We waited for about 15 minutes without anyone coming by or introducing themselves and finally the hostess came back over and said that she was sorry and forgot to put our number on the table. Understanding that's it's a holiday we were very patient and quiet and let it slide. She then took our drink orders and we finally got some chips, salsa, and a comped guacamole for the delay. After she brings us our drinks she says again that our server will be there shortly so we can order our food. it's been about 25 minutes total now and we only have our drinks. ANOTHER 15 minutes go by without anyone coming around to check or see if we have been helped. Mind you other tables are getting quick and easy service. So the HOSTESS comes back again and takes our food order. Shortly after she leaves our table I want another drink so my mom stops a waitress passing our table and asks if we can order something because we don't know exactly who our server is. (No one has introduced themselves or has name tags) She says the manager took our order in an annoyed tone and tries to walk away but my mom says we want a drink so she finally stops and takes the drink order. I get my second drink (lemon drop) and ask for a straw since I don't like putting my mouth on certain public cups. She laughs at my request says I don't need it for this and walks away. I'm taken aback because i've never been outright laughed at and told no for a STRAW nonetheless and flag down a different waitress for a straw. It takes THIRTY minutes for us to get our food (Asada burrito and carne con camarones) and the flavor of the food is the only upside of this place. We ate what we could and since no one was our server we had to flag down a different host since the nice lady had left so we could finally get our check (which came immediately) I wouldn't come back. The ambience was basic, they didn't have music and if they did it was very low. A few TVs and outside seating. I don't want to assume racism because I think that we should have each others back as minorities but seeing as we were the only black people in the building and we got little to no service, there's not much room for other interpretations. Ive been coming to these restaurants for approximately 17 years. Came at round 4pm Saturday evening only 8 people including me and my son total customers. I asked for carnitas plate as usual, this time it looked like a small portion barely enough for 2 tacos and no exaggeration. I asked the nice waitress and she brought the manager with an attitude so i asked if they can add more or bring some more on the side of carnitas i can pay no problem for it. She told me it comes like that, they weigh it supposedly. She had attitude and said they can remove the plate ,. And i said ok remove the plate"! And ill take the bill for just my son thanks! Had a great experience with their service. I called in a phone order and Linda, one of their employees, took my order and was very nice and attentive when I picked up the order. I was greeted by friendly staff and the food was great. One feedback is that the new container they use for the Menudo doesn't hold hit items that well. Plus it's really hot to manage. read more

Some places offer something like it, but this is my favorite... Today is Friday and we were craving for Mexican food so we checked out Cabrera's In Duarte. Great selection of food- we ordered 2 item combinations, Chile relleno and chicken enchiladas with rice and beans - it hit the spot. We also ordered the asada Mexican good portion of flank beef. Also tried Mango Margarita- I asked for little alcohol - it was perfect and very good. This restaurant has a good amount of servers waiters and waitresses that are friendly and attentive to your needs. Good food and great service. Came by today for lunch at 11am with a friend. As we were leaving around 12, there were several other guests dining in. Tables receive fresh chips and salsa to start. We also ordered a side of guac and no complaints on the guac. I ordered the fish tacos. The plate included two generous sized tacos in flour tortilla with side of rice and beans. My meal was tasty. I am normally picky with beans, but I really liked these. My friend ordered the enchiladas placeras. I've never had enchiladas in this style. The tortillas were deep-fried and closed flat, not rolled. He let me try one, and I found it enjoyable. I'd definitely go back and encourage others to dine here. Parking is available in a private lot behind the restaurant. They have a really big menu and offer a variety of meat plates, sea food, etc. Our dessert was the flan.
