9/19/20 Ordered the two fish taco combo (#2), a shrimp burrito, and a fish taco. Top 5 value in the Sierra Madre area. Fish tacos were fresh and delicious. Balance of crisp lettuce v soft tasty fish, tang of the cream sauce v tomatoes. Wonderfully refreshing meal. Beans and rice are above average, and have always complemented the meal well. Shrimp burrito is hefty with shrimp bites all through. Rice and beans here bring the creamy texture needed. Filling for two. They have really stepped up their Covid game. Signage throughout, and of changed the flow by designating enter/exit only doors. Have hand sanitizer on counter. This is a tiny taco joint. one of the my favorite taco spots. They have 99 cents per a fish taco special on Tuesday and a taco special on Thursday. Usually, Around lunchtime and dinnertime, there is line till the out of the store, but it decreases pretty fast. I love their fish tacos!! Management should get her some support or a new cashier because she's terrible. I love this place! I frequent this spot on Tuesdays or Thursdays after a bike ride or work and I think they have the most affordable and delicious fish tacos in SGV. Don't get me wrong, I do love Taco Nazo, but their tacos have gotten expensive. On Tuesdays, Tacos Ensenada serves $1 fish tacos and there's always a line no matter what time of day. Best place to get fish tacos on a Tuesday especially if you're nearby doing laundry at Drop a Load! Their fish tacos were soooo crunchy and filling!!! I ordered 4 of them but couldn't even finish the last one!!! Love that they give you super fresh lemons on the side--as much lemons as you want!! We decided to suffer through the heat because the food looked good. This restaurant is a small corner shop on a corner, much like many fast food places. There is a small parking lot. The seating area was small with 5-6 tables. Most people ordered to go. The food, however, was excellent. I ordered the shrimp tacos combo. The tacos were great...with crispy shrimp and all trimmings. The beans were some of the tastiest I've had. My only complaint is they don't include cilantro and chopped onions in their condiments area. I had to ask for this separately. They do have cooked peppers and sliced radishes in the condiments area. The food is good enough that I intend to return to try some of the other selections. I've been here a lot since I live in the area and it's usually great but tonight was terrible. The young girl at the counter was rude. Then we get home and they gave us lettuce, fish, and other things thrown blindly hoping to land onto a tortilla, better luck next time guys. I work across the street from Tacos Ensenada, and thank the Heavens that this place has arrived, and booted out Tacos Fiesta!! My co-workers and I eat here way too much lol! The platter I get has two fish tacos with rice and beans. The first time I had ordered a platter, the cashier gave me my total, and it was about $6.00. I pay for my food, and she asks, "What would you like to drink?". I told her I didn't order one, and she tells me, "Your plate comes with a drink". Saaaaaaaay whaaaaaaat?! The service isn't all that great however I do understand that they are just starting up. I've came three times now. First time, no complaints. When asked what drink I wanted I said "coke" and she then proceeds to say that the can is an additionally 50 cents.. hmm. I appreciated that they separated the spicy items since they saw we were with kids and was super impressed with the generous portions for the cerviche (only $2.55 and one was enough for dinner for me)! I have been to this place several times over the last 12 months. The Fish tacos by far are the best thing on the menu. The fish tacos are 5 Star. The "Tacos de Papa" are most tasty and a great choice on the menu. Everything else is just okay. Not a fan of the rice but the beans are excellent. Taco Tuesday's and Thursday's this place is a Hot mess, super busy with people looking for good cheap eats. The service at Tacos Ensenada is the downside to this place. I have tried calling in my order several times to try and improve the wait time and it doesn't matter. They just plod along. The service is not great that is the reason for the stars at 3. Call to let them know we are coming from church to pick up with a 15 minute drive time. On time. Get there and nothing absolutely nothing is ready so we have to wait 30 minute. Nothing is marked but I ask 3 times to verify everything is there. They all say yes. Drive time to house is 12 minutes. No fish. No rice. No beans Call and say we are on our way back. Great prices, fast service! Tacos Ensenada is the replacement establishment that took over where Taco Fiesta previously existed. Be aware, this review of the food comes from a vegetarian (not vegan): Here's what I've tried so far: 1. Sope Regular - sopes with no meat, just beans, lettuce, tomatoes, and crema. Despite not having a meat-substitute (which is rare to find at independent Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles), their sopes are really wonderful, and nicely priced. 2. Veggie burritos: standard fare for a vegetarian, and with similar ingredients to the above sopes; again, great price. 3. Beans: mentioning because I *really* like their refried beans. 4. Rice: okay... sorry, but not my favorite Mexican rice... this is fairly plain, no added tomato sauce or onions, just plain (but properly cooked) rice. No special flavors here. 5. Horchata: standard fare, not bad. This place has had a line almost out the door (at least, when I've dropped in to grab food) since they replaced Taco Fiesta. The cashiers have been very pleasant. They also have a condiments bar - nice choices, though no salsas. No verde sauce thus far. I've returned here three times since they've opened, and plan to continue returning to give them business (and fill my belly with Mexican food goodness)! read more

My husband and I tried this place last night and were very happy with our meal. The line was out the door, and the lady at the register gave great customer service. Hopefully they get more staff to accommodate the crowd. Food was very good, definitely several steps up from taco fiesta ( thank God!!!!)
