We have been eating here almost weekly, mostly on Taco Tuesday and Thursday. Order is usually called in and brought home. It is usually crowded on these days, mostly take-out. Until today, I had to eat tacos with a fork there was so much meat or fish. Today was a rare exception. We were on a walk with our dog and made an impromptu decision to eat because it was Taco Thursday. We sat outside, which was pleasant. There was hardly any meat in our carnitas tacos, mostly Pico de Gallo. There were three gentlemen sitting behind us. I asked them if they eat there regularly, and they said yes. I asked if their tacos were skimpy with the meat. Yes! One of them said he thought it was a vegetarian taco. I hope this is not a trend to save $$. Otherwise I would give them 5 Stars. I'm hoping management reads this, and today was an off day. Lastly, the 7 Mares Soup is delicious! Big serving with a side of warm tortillas. Another fine spot for Taco Tuesday or any day of the week! The carne asada is a personal favorite but the entire catalog of their meats are top notch. Be sure to not forget about their nicely climate controlled and clean salsa bar (many other spots don't think about actually keeping their salsa free of bacteria!). The hot one is not to be missed! Corner taco haus with weekly specials. A local dive that during lunch has long lines but quick service. Tuesday dollar fish tacos and they are good and a decent size. If you order off the regular menu during taco tuesday be prepared to wait a bit. Staff is mostly spanish speaking and not exactly geared towards guest service , you can see that they have been trained to work fast , and keep the place tidy. As far as I can see the whole town comes here for taco specials. On the weekends there are less people working and you wont get the same quality food. You will wait longer also. There are 3 things that I can point out here. The good- the cooks are very consistent and they place items to go in a nice and neat way. Your food will look the same every time you order. They also work at a very fast paced it takes longer to order than to wait for food, maybe because I only order the fish tacos but nonetheless they are very efficient and consistent. The bad- more times than none if you try to call an order in at any time of the day they will not answer the phone, with the store being busy sometimes it will be nice if they allow phone orders more consistently but I also think of staffing or lack of interest on answering the phone. The ugly- service at the front is horrible the cashiers aren't friendly, enthusiastic or happy to serve you. They take your order and when your food is ready more times then none they completely ignore you when picking up your food. All in all the only thing that brings you here is the food because is consistent and that's all I can say about it the sad part is that we as customers put up with the terrible service and sacrifice because there is no competition for this little place, there is no other place like it and I think the owner know it so there is no incentive to appreciate your business and it clearly shows. I haven't seen ownership replying to any review so I don't think they are interested in connecting with the people that spent their money at this establishment but if I can let you know of what I think of this business at least your wouldn't be surprise about the quality of the food that clearly doesn't match the service you get. read more

Nice gem in Sierra Madre. Who knew! You know how I know? Their salsa is banging. Why is it so hard to find good salsa? I order a fish burrito. It was way too much. Too big for me. I should have gotten the tacos but loved it. Ended up going back 3 days in a row. Then a carne Assado burrito you know the kind of burrito that u have them cut in 1/2 but end up eating the entire thing and you regret it because now ur stomach hurts but it was so good u had to finish it. This is the real deal for some bomb tacos. The prices are good, especially on Thursdays when tacos are only $.99ea. The carnitas and chicken are best, IMO. The horchata and jamaica drinks are family favorites. The side bar has some of the best pickled onions I've had. We load em on our tacos for a real kick. Haven't tried the seafood yet as I'm not much of a shell fish fan but have only heard great things. The staff is good if not a little understaffed at times. This place just opened in Sierra Madre this Friday with a live Mariachi band playing outside on their patio. I would have come over just for the delicious shrimp cocktail alone. They had me at cheap tacos in Sierra Madre! Tacos Ensenada is located in what used to be another taco place called Taco Fiesta. This new place is a huge improvement over the former establishment. The hubs and I used to drive all the way to Duarte to get our fish taco and shrimp cocktail fix at the other Tacos Ensenada. We are so happy that they expanded and opened up another place in our home town. I hope that they keep their menu the same and not try to water the flavor of the foods down to accommodate the new location. The food should continue to taste like we took a trip to Ensenada. The only thing preventing me from giving them five stars is their use of styrofoam cups, plates, and bowls for almost everything. read more

Taco Tuesday! Taco Thursday! Tacos everyday! At tacos ensenada, they have the BEST fish tacos on the planet. And on Tuesdays they are only $1! On Thursdays their other tacos are only $1. I went to go try their fish tacos, tostadas, and other tacos before and were impressed with everything. The tostada was good, but nothing to write home about. The other tacos were very similar to other chains but the fish taco truly blew me out of the water. The fish is deep fried and has a crispy layer to it on the outside, but it isn't overly thick like most places. The atmosphere of the restaurant is obviously designed for more to go customers but they still have a few tables and chairs inside for people to enjoy. The parking lot is pretty small as well but they do have a lot of street parking around them. Overall, I would most definitely go back, specifically for the fish tacos. Keep in mind, on taco Tuesday they do get pretty packed and could be about a 15 min wait. read more

On the phone the woman said we only take orders til 9:50, I thought ok it's only 9:20 I have plenty of time, so I get there about 9:35, I ordered almost 38 bux worth of food, took about 15 mins. I guess that's no big deal. So she says my order's ready, I look in the bag, no napkins, no salsa, nothing, just what I ordered and not a single thing else. I look around for napkins, there are none to be found anywhere, but then comes the kicker, I ask for some onion n cilantro, and she looks at me with a look like why would you want that? Then she gasps n hesitantly turns around n asks the cook for it. Finally she comes back with these two tiny little containers of mostly cilantro and I'm thinking like does she know how much food I just got? Unfortunately this is not the first time this has happened, the last time she only gave me ONE!! I don't get it, maybe she has to pay for the cilantro? Ugh, anyway, I'm not going back to this place, the carne asada was almost like dunked in a sauce and was really strong flavored, and the fish from the tacos almost seemed to be kind of undercooked, there was quite a bit of fat in the meat, and the fish had almost no flavor at all. This lady needs a raise or something, maybe she's had her fair share of local Sierra Madre clientele coming in there? but she was ready to go home at 9:40, someone came in, she said sorry kitchen closed. Wasn't even 9:50 yet. I don't know, there was way too much pressure from her to get my food ordered in a hurry, I can't keep going thru this just for some mediocre food. Went here last night around 7pm. 2 people in front of me ordering when i arrived. Got in line waited about 10 mins to place the order. A line of other customers gathered during that time probably about 10 people / 6 orders or so. After I ordered 6 single tacos I looked for a seat at a clean table two of the five tables had customers 2 others hadn't been cleaned up from their last use, sticky and gross. This place is tight in a good situation which I don't mind. Everyone makes do but filthy floors and tables is just lazy management. So back to the food, after about another 10 mins + or - they call the orders in front of me. I wait, thinking I'm next. then the call 3 large orders after me. I'm thinking 6 tacos? Anyway I ask and the young woman at the counter and she goes to inquire. 5 minutes later 2 large Styrofoam boxes come my way and I grab my drink and happily head home. Mouthwatering as I pull in the drive, I get in the house and my wife has everything else ready to go. I open the boxes and I can t believe what I'm seeing, what had to the worst tacos I've ever seen! Just low grade garb sloppily thrown into a huge box (see pics) Most of the tacos contents strewn all over both of the boxes. Not a single full taco in either of the boxes. Ever heard of foil? There was no trauma on the drive home and the boxes sat quietly on the car floor till I took them out after the 2 mile drive. Ok, so I figure no big deal and I'll just eat them. It's just tacos right? I got "Asada" and chicken. The Asada was so overcooked and dry it was crispy. The chicken was so soupy you couldn't pick up the tortillas without them just falling apart. The salsa randomly flung about the boxes looked about as appetizing as something that had sat in the sun all day at a picnic in the park. Needless to say this food just shouldn't be sold for public consumption. $14 dollars of my cash and an hour of my time I wont get back but for that price I do get to give them a little feedback and give you the public a heads up. I go to this location less often than the one in Altadena.  Their shrimp cocktails are usually loaded with shrimp and have great flavor.  The prices can't be beat. However, twice in a row now they've made mistakes with my order. The first time they forgot the tostadas in my order of tostada de camaron. The second time they forgot the tostadas again, and also made me fish burritos instead of the shrimp I ordered. Both times were takeout, and I did not discover the error until I got home. I had to drive all the way back to get the orders fixed. I will only go to the location in Altadena from now on. read more

I was going to give them 5 stars, as their carnitas tacos and fish tacos are really very good compared to many others, however last time I tried to recommend them to my friends, we got the same ones I got before, but they were both very disappointing! The fish was small and mostly batter, so we were like eating batter tacos, and the carnitas was very dry. I felt like we were getting the leftovers even though it's in the middle of the day. I'm so sad as they were our favorite taco place, but now we hesitate to go again. I hope they are aware that consistency is just as important. read more

This place is great value and delicious. I love that they have plenty of seafood options since I don't eat red meat anymore. I highly recommend the chicken burrito and their shrimp burrito--the chicken burrito is Mexican rotisserie chicken and you can get the shrimp burrito with grilled or fried shrimp. Their pickled onions are also amazing and I come here with them in mind. With COVID they are giving them to customers in prepacked baggies in very reasonable portions. The limes are also prepacked in good amounts. Apparently they now also serve green sauce so I'll be back to try it next time. Love this place! read more

So we rushed over to order our potato tacos which I learned the last time take WAY longer than the time quoted to make, and they said they didn't have them the last time. It seemed more like they didn't want to be cooking until 1 minute after close time. They act like they don't want to do any work in the last hour. I think the MAJOR PROBLEM is the kitchen music is so loud you can hear it in the parking lot when the door is open, so of course the cashier can't hear your order (and doesn't repeat your order to you). I'm sure that's why my order was missing food. Fortunately I looked before leaving. The forgotten item was eaten later at home (carnitas taco) and there was 1 very hard piece in it, good thing I didn't break my teeth! I cut it with a knife and it was hard like kibble, no idea what is actually was. If you want their food I recommend the Monrovia location. Their music is too loud too (they are both tiny restaurants) but they get the order right and don't charge for small sides like Sierra Madre does, and the cashier is actually FRIENDLY!! read more

The food is OK overall, nothing memorable enough to go to again. They are Carne Asada meat is super marinated in a wet kind of way. Not that I like dry meat but it has a weird built-in flavor. They give you two hot sauces with every order, even if you have ordered multiple items. They charge you for anything extra which is crazy. The older woman, bless her heart, who is the cashier at the time shouldn't be working the register. I watched every single person, one after one, ordering and she was confused.
