I'm new to Fairfield, so I'm still trying to find new places to eat. I tried this place the other night, and I was impressed. Another review mentioned that the area was sketch, and I absolutely agree. I don't know Fairfield enough to know whether this area is bad or not, but the kind of sketchy vibes that I'd expect from some neighborhoods in Oakland, but sketchy-seeming neighborhoods aren't always as bad as they appear, so who knows. With that said, I enjoyed the food. Super limited menu, and the prices were rubbed off on the menu, so I'm not sure how much everything costs, but I paid about $30 for a hot dog, burrito with extra cheese, and three tacos. I'm not usually a street hot dog guy. Those little carts in San Francisco or Oakland always smell better than they taste, so I didn't have high hopes...but this taco truck's hot dogs were legit, and I'll be back for more. I tried one carne asada taco, one al pastor, and one pollo. The carne was hella good. The al pastor was alright. I'm not usually an al pastor guy, so I have no reference to compare it, too. The chicken was good, but not as good as the steak (but that's usually the case when it's chicken vs steak). I got the burrito so I could have it for leftover lunch, but I made sure to take a couple of bites so I could judge it fresh. It's a good. This was a good burrito. Happy with this taco truck, and I will be back. The dude working was chill and friendly, too. Loved how they grilled the onions, and really appreciated that jalepeno with my hot dog. read more

This truck has been parked next to the tire spot on North Texas for the longest time but I've never bothered to stop. There's plenty of parking since it's situated in an old shopping plaza, but it's not the best of areas in FF. The spot is a real vibe though, they even have two outside dining tables and a TV set up for the customers. It's going to be tuned a Spanish speaking channel of course, but still, that's pretty dope. The man working the truck was so nice! While my mom and I waited, he actually gave us a couple free carne asada tacos to snack on. She ordered her burrito without onions, so he also left the onions off her taco. Very thoughtful! They have limited items on the menu, and limited meat choices: carne asada, al pastor, lengua, chorizo, and cabeza. We got a carne asada burrito, hot dog, 3 al pastor tacos, and a horchata. The food was done fairly quickly, and nice and hot. They do have closed lid Styrofoam containers instead of plates with foil, so kinda nice if you're taking them to go. The hot dog was the highlight for suuuure. The weenie was hot and juicy, wrapped in yummy bacon, and topped with the right amount of mayo, mustard, ketchup, diced tomatoes and grilled onions! The grilled jalapeno on the side was fireeeee but not spicy at all. Hella flavorful though! Unfortunately the tacos were not good, and the burrito was dry. FYI they use pinto beans in their burritos. Since they didn't ask what our preference was, I'm assuming this is the only option the Al pastor was sooooo dry :( the meat was a bit too charred too so this was just tiresome to eat. Their red and green salsas are pretty good though, they keep them on the side for you to add on. The menu has no price listed, but everything we ordered totaled to $32. We paid once the food was ready, and they do accept cash or card. I'll be back for the hot dog if I'm ever craving a dirty dog, but the other options left a bit to be desired. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIRING THIS TACO TRUCK! We hired the taco truck for a party. The sample they gave us was delicious! The food provided at the party WAS NOT! They were supposed to arrive at 1:30pm to start cooking for their 3:30 start time. At 2:40 they hadn't arrived. I called to see where they were, they'd forgotten! They show up with a taco cart, not a truck which we requested. Food service was supposed to start at 3:30, and didn't start until 4:30. Half of the food we were promised was not served. We were supposed to have 4 meats, and only had 2. We were supposed to have grilled veggies, which we did not, we were supposed to have sour cream and guacamole- no sour cream and they ran out of guacamole halfway through food service. They were supposed to have beans but because they were so late the first half of the guests didn't get the beans. Because of the location of the party I advised them that there could be other patrons that might want to purchase some of their food. We were told they would NOT be selling to any other guests, only to our party (which we prepaid for). Well they started selling to other people. As the party came to a close we asked for the leftovers that we had already paid for and the workers tried to tell us we couldn't have them because they wanted to sell to other customers. In the end, the owner realized the error of his ways and we received the leftover meats, but I still would not hire them again. read more

Went there today, not going for food initially. I was getting my car serviced at the shop they are parked in front of. After killing time walking around for 1 1/2 hours, my mother, my 4 year, and I came back to sit down and eat the food we got in passing while we continue to wait. My son had already finished his McDonald's, so my mom and I sat down at one of the tables next to their truck to eat our food which was nothing they offered on their menu. When we walked up the owners wife in a loud rude tone asked in Spanish "What are you guys going to want?" My mother told her no thank you we aren't ordering anything we are just waiting for our car. So then my son being the toddler he is decides he wants a taco now too being that we are in front of a taco truck. So I got up and went to the window to order. (The wife was sitting at the table beside us the whole time not inside the truck, so she heard my son ask for a taco) After waiting a bit she asks again "What are you going to want?" I told her just a carne asad taco with just the meat. She tells me oh they can't give me that right now because they don't have any gas. So I ask well is there something else you guys have ready? She tells me No there's nothing else and no gas to cook. I sit back down and tell my son I will get him a taco somewhere else as soon as the car is ready. Once we are almost done eating and was told my car is ready, a gentleman walks to the window and waits to order. She goes into the truck and to the window to take his order and looks at my mom and laughs. ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY HAVE GAS!! This woman was so rude it's ridiculous, denied a customer and a child at that because we were not initially there to order their food. WORST SERVICE EVER, lol because we received No service. I don't want to blame it on race either but you never know, my son is mixed. Just don't eat here, the truck at the corner of Sunset and Travis is much better anyways. read more

The tacos here are outstanding, for 2.50 a taco it blows 6 dollar tacos out of the water. The service is wonderful, food served quickly, freshly and still steaming. 10/10 reccomend this food truck. A little diamond in the rough if you ask me.! read more

Service always sucks. The lady has some issue with women. Bc, she doesn't act like that when the men order. Even when were polite. Anyway, tacos are decent. Not the best but they are open late. Their phone that's on the truck is not even connected. I tried calling it several times thinking they just needed to pay their bill or something but nope. They should hire a younger person to take orders. Someone who doesn't seem to feel intimidated by other women. read more

I've been in Fairfield for 13 years and have never found a taco spot worth going back to, until now. Have had my favorite spots in Vallejo growing up, but now, I found my favorite spot in FF. The tacos de tripa, Carne Asada and Al Pastor we're off the hook. Looking forward to go back and have the bacon wrapped hotdogs, although we make them from time to time, I will support the local mom and pop spots. We used to eat these hotdogs growing up on the streets in the beach towns of Mexico. Awesome that you can find them in FF. Although not the best location, and the people hanging around may deter certain people from stopping by, give it a chance, it's worth it. read more

I edited my first review. You would think that as a loyal customer the wife would treat you right but I guess I'm wrong. Our week doesn't end without the tripas that's actually really good but I had a very bad experience with the wife talking shit in Mexican language which I kinda understand. She disregard me standing in front of her and even told the guy behind me that I'm security and start taking his order. Very disrespectful. Surprisingly really good tacos here. I have searched quite a bit for good Mexican food in Fairfield and haven't really liked anything but this place is a nice surprise. The tacos are by far the best thing on the menu and the burritos are gigantic. Only downside is they only take cash. read more
