    Carne asada tacos
    Stephanie L.

This truck has been parked next to the tire spot on North Texas for the longest time but I've never bothered to stop. There's plenty of parking since it's situated in an old shopping plaza, but it's not the best of areas in FF. The spot is a real vibe though, they even have two outside dining tables and a TV set up for the customers. It's going to be tuned a Spanish speaking channel of course, but still, that's pretty dope. The man working the truck was so nice! While my mom and I waited, he actually gave us a couple free carne asada tacos to snack on. She ordered her burrito without onions, so he also left the onions off her taco. Very thoughtful! They have limited items on the menu, and limited meat choices: carne asada, al pastor, lengua, chorizo, and cabeza. We got a carne asada burrito, hot dog, 3 al pastor tacos, and a horchata. The food was done fairly quickly, and nice and hot. They do have closed lid Styrofoam containers instead of plates with foil, so kinda nice if you're taking them to go. The hot dog was the highlight for suuuure. The weenie was hot and juicy, wrapped in yummy bacon, and topped with the right amount of mayo, mustard, ketchup, diced tomatoes and grilled onions! The grilled jalapeno on the side was fireeeee but not spicy at all. Hella flavorful though! Unfortunately the tacos were not good, and the burrito was dry. FYI they use pinto beans in their burritos. Since they didn't ask what our preference was, I'm assuming this is the only option the Al pastor was sooooo dry :( the meat was a bit too charred too so this was just tiresome to eat. Their red and green salsas are pretty good though, they keep them on the side for you to add on. The menu has no price listed, but everything we ordered totaled to $32. We paid once the food was ready, and they do accept cash or card. I'll be back for the hot dog if I'm ever craving a dirty dog, but the other options left a bit to be desired. Grateful for the customer service though!

When ordering my husband asked about chips and I pointed out that the menu says 1 basket is included and the cashier nodded. When our food came my husband asked for our chips and the guy said we had to order them and they charge for them. My husband reminded him that he asked when ordering and I again referenced the menu saying 1 basket is included,he said the policy changed and there was a sign on the wall somewhere. My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing, but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. The amount they charge was $80. $80 for 2 chimichangas,a beer and a ranch water and No chips??

Walking in, I was immediately greeted with smiling and welcoming vibes from the ladies at the front and told to take a seat wherever I'd like to sit. The hit for me is that MENUDO is available on a non-weekend! I've been craving it and when I ordered it (on a Tuesday), I hoped it would be fresh and it was! The broth was savory and flavorful as is but with the added oregano, dried peppers, onions, and cilantro to my liking- it just made it even better! The best part was that you can either order it with pata or no pata. Shoooot, you don't have to ask me twice! I said I want the pata hahahaha that with tender and not overcooked tripe was just what I was wanting! If you love menudo, this is a place I'd recommend and go to get it regularly. The MICHELADA MARISCADA is tasty! It's a mixture of seafood in a sweet and tangy sauce. For those who do not like spice, this is a great option. I was with someone who doesn't like spicy food and isn't a big fan of Mexican food but MAN! she killed the entire plate! So now we have a place that we both can really enjoy together. Will be back!!

The chicken quesadilla really set it off for me as well. It was flavorful, nice portion size and I enjoyed the dip that came with it also. The Lows: The food was kinda expensive. It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price. The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. The parking was a little tough. The service was cool for our to go order.

Second they offered a 2016 bottle of Cabernet on the drink menu but didn't have it and tried selling us 2023 bottle of bogle. for the food and drinks we ended up having a cocktail and a couple of beers. for the appetizer we had bacon wrapped cheese, stuffed shrimp with a cheese sauce. Very delicious then for our main entrée we ordered lobster enchiladas I originally wanted the gold leaf hamburger, but they were out of gold so I just had a regular hamburger with fries which was also very delicious, but I found a wooden skewer that looked deep fried and got put in the bag of french fries that could have been very dangerous if I hadn't paid attention it, luckily I caught it in time so they took off one beer from the bill and then for dessert we had flan with fresh mint blueberries and strawberries. We felt the mint was overpowering to the flan. And for the staff. There was only one bartender and seemed to be swamped the whole time and the serving staff very good people zero complaints with them.

I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend
