We've seen this place every time we come to visit the city and it always looked busy so this time we had to try it out. It was a Saturday early evening and it was already busy. We were able to sit down right away in the bar area so that was nice. Our waiter came over pretty quick to see if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered some waters, a Paloma, and a beer. He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. The Chicken inside the enchilada was tender and tasty, the tamale was also fresh, tender, and cooked perfect. The highlight of the meal even with everything tasting great already were the beans. The beans had so much flavor to them, and cooked perfect. I don't know what they put in the beans or how they make them but, they are the best refried beans I've ever had. Our waiter was really good, I didn't get his name but kudos to him as well. The place is really big inside and has outside seating, with a bar area as well. Certainly not NOT impressed with the service. I asked for a burrito to go. They said no problem. So I ordered a carne asada burrito. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend read more

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurants in the area. My go to order is the surf and turf burrito smothered in their house made jalapeño sauce along with a nice cold Michelada. But you can't go wrong with the Los Camarones Al Mojo de Ajo (Garlic Shrimp), Pollo Jalapeño, or the Ramseys favorite. They are pretty busy almost all the time but their service is excellent. We were very pleased that the food and service had not changed at all. We were seated immediately and given their standard chips and salsa. Our server, Laura, was wonderful and so helpful. We already knew their menu, so we were ready to order. My mom got the 2 item lunch with a beef enchilada and chile relleno. I ordered the two-item lunch with an asada street taco and a crunchy chicken taco; both plates come with rice and beans. We really appreciated that a few different servers checked on us multiple times. When the food came, we were reminded of how large their portions are. The food was amazing as always. The options for Mexican in our area are pretty limited. All things considered, if you're looking for Mexican, this is one of the best options in the Fairfield, Suisun City, Vacaville area. I don't think this is authentic Mexican. I think it is more California Mexican. But it is good food and the service today was especially attentive. We were seated in the bar area. We started with a chicken bacon ranch quesadilla that was perfectly grilled--crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside. The sides of guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream were fresh and flavorful, especially the guac. For the main dish, I had enchiladas topped with both red and green sauce, and they were delicious. My partner ordered the chipotle quesadilla and man that meat had so much flavor. My carnitas were moist and there were chunks of meat! I don't know what size the tortilla was to wrap all that in there. If you get anything, ask for a side of the jalapeño sauce.... That had so much flavor, the really need to sell that in a store! We came as a big group (30+) on a Friday night. The place was packed but since we had reservations they had everything all ready for us. The service was friendly and for the size of our group the food came out relatively fast. I ordered the house burrito (w/Shredded Beef) and I made it mojado with the jalapeño cream sauce. Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere is friendly and is perfect to catch a game or just hang out. My quesabirrias were really good. Crisp exterior with tender, juicy birria beef. Loved the ingredients in the consome, though I wish my tacos would have a but more onions and cilantro to give it more depth. Still great nonetheless. My wife liked her plate. I got the Tacos Tapatio which is 4 street tacos with beans topped with meat, grilled onions and radish. It was excellent and they give you a ton of food. Paired my taco with a giant 25 ounce mug of Modelo, perfect. The chips and salsa are decent, but the salsa is very mild, so yourself a favor and ask for the Habanero salsa, come in a verse with a bit of the habanero added, mix it up and it will give you a nice spice, they way it should be. If you're really hungry La Cabana will definitely deliver to your expectations - perhaps more. Their plates are extremely generous and I really underestimated how much food comes in a serving. They do have kid's menu along with some crayons and their menu is up to date on their website. Just make note that the Menudo is only available on the weekends and often sells out before mid morning. For both my kids, I ordered from the children's menu and their plates was more than enough for them. They had the chicken tenders with fries and quesadilla with steak (requested steak on the side and it was a large portion). My kids wasn't able to eat half of their meals so to go boxes were needed for their food. I ordered their steak and shrimp quesadilla and I did not realize how large that quesadilla was. The quesadilla itself was delicious, great flavors and I enjoyed their pico de gallo. Not even a full slice of the quesadilla got me full - box certainly needed (and lasted me about three days). My mother ordered the mango shrimp salad and offered some to me. It was amazing. Honestly, if anyone ever asks for a salad recommendation I would highly suggest that specific salad. Mom couldn't finish it either - Box requested. The last plate ordered was the tacos with carnitas. The tortillas came on the side and the carnitas was super tender. That plate was needed to be boxes as well. The service was good. It got busy in the dinning area as the dinner rush had just started and it was getting louder by the minute. I have one complaint and it's the parking lot... some massive deep holes that I'm not sure my car would survive. Just park on the street! Initially we were quoted a 40 minute wait but our party of two got our table in about 15 minutes. Nice! The service was perfect. Everyone was very friendly and attentive despite the place being packed on a Friday evening. The drinks were great. Excellent flavor, presentation, and plenty strong. And the food... OMG, so good! Literally the best thing I've eaten all year. I know it's only been 9 days, but you get the point. I got the "Las 3 Primas" and it was delish! My dining partner got the carne asada and he too was very very very pleased with it. Also worth mentioning the art and stuff all over the walls was really fun. Half the restaurant has a huge mural and the other half has like random art and photos mixed with sports stuff? In the end it's creative and add in the log cabin theme and you won't get bored waiting for your food (although you won't be waiting long, don't worry). PS: The chips and salsa that tide you over til you get your order are actually insanely good. You might think "oh, it's just chips," but I have NEVER had such good chips at any other restaurant in my life. Most places, even other highly rated Mexican restaurants, the chips are either too brittle and break, or are just lame overall. Here at La Cabana, they're literally perfect. WE'LL BE BACK! Been going to La Cabana for years now. It's one of our favorite places. I say one because I have a few 5-Stars for other Mexican places. La Cabana is very good, and I don't feel anyone would be disappointed eating here. I like the look inside and out. The main dining area is a little plain, but the bar area is very nice. Chips and salsa are so, so. Can't really complain about anything that's free, but I wish the salsa was a little thcker. Entrees are always good and HUGE. On my most recent trip, the Wife and I ordered the Chicken Suoer Nachos and a Surf and Turf Quesadilla to share. The quesadilla was monstrous and filled with carne asada and shrimp. Very good. The MVP are the Nachos though. They do a great job of layering everything. I can't stand when you get Nachos and while it's filled on top, everything below gets neglected as you eat down and around. Not a problem here. Also, despite the abundance of toppings, the bottom chips do not get soggy quickly. I say quickly because I feel the nachos are a good shared dish for 3-4 people. A little sogginess can't be avoided. Ultimately, it's absolutely delicious, even as leftovers. Service is good and everyone always seems to have a smile on their face. Prices are very fair in 2025 and you will have food to take home. 4.5 Stars just because I have a few places that are a smidge better. read more

Upon arrival, I was taken aback by the host's abrupt mention of a mandatory gratuity charge for our party of six. While I appreciate the need for such a policy, the delivery lacked tact and made us feel unwelcome. Had we not have our 81 year-old mom, we would've left and went somewhere else, guarenteed! Furthermore, the service throughout the meal left much to be desired. Despite the automatic gratuity, our server was notably absent, requiring us to actively seek assistance whenever we needed something. This lack of attentiveness was disappointing, especially considering the premium prices we were paying. In addition, the presentation of the food fell short of expectations. The fajitas I ordered, which were advertised in an appealing and appetizing photo, as you can see in the photo my niece took, it arrived in a manner that was less than appealing (please refer to the attached photos for reference). The most concerning incident occurred towards the end of our meal when we struggled to get the attention of our server. A staff member with an earpiece passed by, seemingly ignoring our attempts to make contact. When requested for assistance, his handling of our request was unhygienic, as he dropped multiple bags on the floor only to pick up those bags off the floor and put them right on bag of the clean bags before eventually providing us with one. How do I even know that the bags he gave us were clean? Because he could've done the same thing with another table's request! Overall, the combination of subpar service, underwhelming food presentation, and unhygienic practices has left me with a negative impression of your establishment. I believe that there is room for improvement in several areas to ensure a more pleasant dining experience for customers in the future. I found it funny that my dad, sister and I decided on the same entree, Ramses's Special, carne asada Black Angus steak. We tried to go to Texas Roadhouse for steak and it was swamped, so steak was on our minds. The steaks were super thin and I marveled at how they were grilled a perfect medium rare as requested. Although thin, the steaks were large and none of us finished. They were tasty. Another great experience at La Cabana!! Tiffany was Awesome!!! Her attention to detail was on point and we received everything that we ordered in a timely manner. Consistency is key and La Cabana is very consistent with their food and their service. Now, a little constructive criticism. The ladies at the front when you first enter, is your first point of contact. They are suppose to set the mood for your dining experience. Although we're sure that Maria and Gisele are nice people, they could brush up a little bit on their greetings and their customer service skills. We travel for over an hour every time we visit your establishment because we like the food and the open atmosphere and we feel like they could represent your great product and your establishment a little better. If it weren't for Tiffany being so great, this write up could have easily gone a different direction. She totally made up for the lack of customer service and floor awareness in the beginning and that's why we rated you with 5 stars again. The service was good the food was okay, I didn't care much for the rice and they put sour cream in the beef taco, not good. It would have been better with out it. Cheese enchilada was OK and the chicken quesadilla I took home was OK. read more

Staff was friendly and fast. Place closed early due to being slow so didn't get to enjoy my taco Tuesday due to feeling rushed after I paid $22 for Al I can eat tacos . Tacos were a little dry and not worth the $22 deal. They didn't have ginger beer to make my Moscow mule so that was disappointing. Restaurant set up nicely with bar area separate from dining area. read more
