We tried them once before and our food wasn't amazing, but was good enough to try again. Our second visit we ordered 2 wet chimichangas,a beer and a ranch water. When ordering my husband asked about chips and I pointed out that the menu says 1 basket is included and the cashier nodded. When our food came my husband asked for our chips and the guy said we had to order them and they charge for them. My husband reminded him that he asked when ordering and I again referenced the menu saying 1 basket is included,he said the policy changed and there was a sign on the wall somewhere. My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked,kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing,but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. We just stopped at Rancho Fino, located at the old Rockville Corner, on our drive home from Santa Cruz back to South Lake Tahoe. My mouth is still watering... I ordered the carne asada plate and the carne asada was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The chips and tortillas are handmade and the tequila selection felt like I was in Jalisco Mexico. The service is efficient, fast, and friendly. The man who took our order had a smile on his face the whole time. Incredible. Nostalgic building, brought me back to my party days at Rockville Corner, but I left feeling satisfied and full, not drunk and seeing double. It also took a really long time to come out and when I asked for hot sauce they seemed like they never heard of it before . It was Fantasy Football lottery night and Rancho Fino was our place of choice for hosting. I was curious about this place cause I've heard so many good things about it. From what I experienced, I am curious to come back. Service is started by lining up and ordering your food near the bar. They have a laminated menu and board above the bar for your food options. The drinks looked cool to tryout but I only had water this time. The bar area was filled a lot of locals just chilling and having beers/tacos. Very relaxed and casual. The main dining area is large and has lots of tables for different configurations. Large parties would be no problem. As for the food, the Birria was good. Crispy shell and deliciously cooked beef. We stopped in for a little dinner last night and it was delicious! The menu is perfect -- has everything you're looking for. The ambiance is comfortable and open. They have some great painted murals. The front room is more of a sports bar scene and the back room is a little quieter. You have to order up front (before or after you find a table). Then they bring your food and beverages out to you. That was fine but we miss the personal service with a waiter... "what looks good..." and all that sort of banter. The food came out fast and the staff are really nice. If there had been that waiter relationship, we might have ordered another drink, and maybe some dessert. A little corner spot in Suisun valley, this place digs into its roots and creates some very soulful plates. Cuisine is spirited regional Jalisciense with thought and respect. Very casual and friendly, we frequently stop in cuz we live only a few miles away in Green Valley (the little-sister valley to Suisun and Napa Trenches) when we have a crave for southern yums. Sporting a full bar with quick and capable staff, Eddie or any of the cheerful cantineros (cantineras) will be at the bar to skillfully assemble one of their signature cocktails or anything that hits ya. Eddie is our preferred mixologo and can be found intently chatting bar patrons and shoulder-glancing futbol on the big screens behind the bar. Go with the classic "Ranchorita" and the complimentary chips and salsa to start. Wide range of beer and many local wine labels available. The method here is, grab a menu at the side door entrance, place your order, take your little table stand number and find a seat. Bar seating is also plentiful. The menu is wide and covers many traditional takes on Jalisco-inspired dishes. There is a rotating list of special takes that must be explored. Currently, staff curated plates are super-creative and tasty. Recently, Eddie's Baja Fish Torta delivered a huge portion of fried fish, tomatoes, greens, chipotle aioli and lime marinated serranos. Killer. Took me two lunches to eat it all. Get the Chile arbol side for extra excitement. The quesabirria taco is also a standout as the Nacho Del Rancho plate which is enormous. When Mole is on the menu, don't miss it. Incredible. Happy hours 2-5 W-F as well as daily specials and menudo on Sundays. Rancho Fino has been my go-to Mexican spot for a while now. It's my regular place when I want good drinks, chips and salsa, and a casual night out with my cousins. I usually sit at the bar, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. Let me start with the drinks because they are consistently five stars. The margaritas do not miss. They are strong, well made, and definitely get you where you need to go. Every single time, they're on point. Food-wise, there are definite favorites. My son loves the steak tacos, and they're always solid. My younger one demolishes the cheese quesadillas every time. The nachos are really good when you dine in, and I've also had chicken and shrimp fajitas and chicken enchiladas that were delicious. My cousin swears by the chicken and shrimp burrito. That said, not every dish has been a home run. The pozole was great the first time I had it, but the second time it wasn't as impressive. The tamales can sometimes be a little hard, and I wasn't a fan of the wings. It's not bad overall, but there are occasional hits and misses depending on what you order. Even with that, I keep coming back. The atmosphere is relaxed, the drinks are always golden, and the core menu items like tacos and fajitas are dependable. I want to preface this review by saying that staff did offer to try and rectify the situation, but we weren't interested in waiting for a re-fire. Prior to our issues, staff was friendly upon entry. I was REALLY looking forward to trying this place when I saw it on Yelp. It had 4 stars and the food pics looked delicious. Unfortunately, it fell quite short of expectations. Of the 4 of us, 2 of us had dishes that were flat out cold. My nachos were cold through and through and my friend's enchilada was so cold that her cheese hadn't even melted inside. I opted to box mine because I could ditch the chips when I got home and add my own seasoning. My friend opted to just take the food loss and not take it. (They did take care of it for her which was appreciated.) For the nachos, they typically come with nacho cheese sauce here, but I requested real cheese because in my opinion that's how nachos should be done... I like being able to pull the melted cheesy, flavorful chips from one another. I appreciate the fact that they offered to sub the nacho cheese for Jack cheese. That was a plus. However, in hindsight I wish I had just gone with another taco. My cheese at the bottom, under my beans wasn't even melted and the asada was underwhelming. I was also looking forward to the homemade chips, but for me they just weren't anything to write home about. I did have a pastor taco that I liked, and the salsa that came with the chips was good, but everything else was quite bland/under-seasoned. As a party of 4 we each had components we liked (chile relleno being another item), but collectively agreed that it wasn't a place we had on our list to come back to. I really like this little spot in the Mankas corner area! Generally speaking, I prefer to think positively about restaurants that put forth effort to make my dinner or lunch pleasurable and a break from cooking at home. Rancho Fino achieves that with their friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Interestingly, this place has a young working crew and to do a good job the way they did during my meal is worth a shout out to their staff! I had the ceviche trio of tostadas which consisted of shrimp, octopus (pulpo) & fish. All 3 were very good. Freshness was there and they were tasty without being too lemony or sweet like many places can be. Of the 3, I preferred the fish first and shrimp a close second. Pulpo was ok but I did get a taste of some flavoring (cooking spice or sauce?) that did not win my taste buds. We also had the Birria plate and we liked this plate as well. From the beans and rice, to the presentation, this was delicious and not overly salty. It had a deep red color and the consommé was thicker than many other spots I've tried. So the location is a bit out of the way. It's on a busy road so parking can be a tad tricky. Right across the street from a gas station, you may miss it. Great for groups. You pay at the counter and then sets yourself. So that makes it easy for everyone to pay for themselves. Check out the specials on the chalkboard. I found the prices to be very reasonable. I ordered the halibut ceviche which was about $8.95. There are options of dishes that come with rice and beans so that's nice. You can also order off the children's menu. They have a selection of beverages like beers and sodas in the fridge and even some cheesecake in the fridge. It also looks like they have a bar and speciality alcoholic drinks although I wasn't able to try them this time. They have a beautiful mural by @LunaFrancoArt! The service was very friendly and quick! The first basket of chips is complimentary but additional baskets are $3.50 each. The restaurant was very clean. It got quite busy at 12:30pm on a Wednesday. I have family out in Suisun City and would often go there for family parties, yet never ventured out to explore. Before my cousin's graduation party, my husband and I left early to see what Fairfield is all about and we found ourselves in what was like a hidden Napa full of wineries and good eats. We grabbed lunch here at Rancho Fino. Parking is a bit difficult as it's on a small lot and a busy street. Upon walking in, you are greeted with instructions to take a menu, find a seat, and order at the register on the other end of the restaurant. Inside is beautifully decorated and colorful. They also have two tvs if you want to catch the game. They were playing both the US Open and college baseball at the time. Service is quick and friendly. They'll give you a number upon ordering and will come out to find you when your food is ready. Water is self-serve btw -- there is a water pitcher at the end of the bar with disposable cups. Food was amazing! The asada was flavorful and the nachos had nacho cheese, and not the stringy kind (is it really nachos if you don't have the classic melty queso?!). I had the fish taco which was nicely seasoned and had just the right amount of tang from the slaw. Note that this isn't battered and deep fried. The star of the meal was my drink. I wish I had gotten the flight of ranchoritas but more reason for me to come back. I got the cucumber ranchorita and it was refreshing! Where do I start! My daughter's Uncle and Aunt suggested and treated us to this restaurant. I had a chicken wet burrito with half red sauce and half green. She had the veggie burrito. I am not sure what Uncle and Auntie had but, there were no complaints. I love the packaging of the wet burrito to go box. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a Rancharita while waiting for our food and our drinks were fantastic! The bartender was very friendly and made delicious looking drinks.
