Crispy chicken tacos, done right! I'm on the best that I found in the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderful service, great margaritas, very cozy place and higher quality food better known spots.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Proper crispy chicken tacos is a staple of Southern California Mexican cuisine. He's getting harder harder to find and this is absolutely a stand out. The service is fabulous. Very prompt and courteous. The food is spectacular. Unequivocal five stars.

WOW - this restaurant is the bomb, the food is simply very tasty. Amazing Melissa Chito Rojo. No one else in Napoli was one of the best we ever had. This place comes highly recommended. If I had six stars will be six star spot. And the singer Fridays and Sundays is out of this world he must come spot

We all ordered from the combos menu. My older sis got the taquitos, my other sis got enchiladas, and I can't remember what I got. The food was just okay. Nothing spectacular and not super flavorful. I think they're known for their Chile relleno? Maybe we should've ordered from the entrees. I did enjoy the chips and salsa. Super good! Parking around here is easy since it shares the same parking lot as a bunch of other businesses. It's got a very hole-in-the-wall feel. I'd be willing to try something else off their menu.

Such a great Sunday morning experience. Not sure how I've missed this restaurant having lived in PV for six years. The owner was there and she was very sweet. Highly recommend trying the pork pozole, it's delicious, hot and oh so filling!

Do they have happy hour? If so, what days and what time?

They have a small bar setup, but from the best of my knowledge, they do not have happy hour. I suggest you call to confirm that.

Are the margaritas traditional, with tequila, etc?

Yes, the margaritas are made with tequila!!

Parking generally isn't too difficult - there is plenty of metered street parking in front of the restaurant and on nearby streets. Started with the cocktail of the week, the Passion Potion, which had vodka, passionfruit, and egg white. I was a bit disappointed by the drink - my partner and I agreed it just tasted like passionfruit-flavored vodka. Wasn't very balanced, as the vodka dominated the flavor profile. I usually get The Queen's Clover, which is always well-balanced, so would definitely recommend that one. For food, we shared the Valentine's weekend no special foie parfait (chicken liver mousse and fruit gelee), rellenos bacalao, citrus quince salad, duck confit, and all day oxtail ragu. The rellenos were a bit small and the risotto didn't have a classic al dente texture. We have had the salad before, and we love it for its unique citrus and marcona almond taste profile. The menu is very meat-heavy, so having something light and fresh balances everything out. The oxtail ragu is our go-to at Gabi James. We have ordered it every time we've gone because it is a standout dish. The pasta has a nice crisp, and the oxtail has such a rich flavor. The bonus is that it tastes great the next day as well! We shared the fig bread pudding for dessert, which was pleasant and not too sweet. I am giving a 5-star rating based on all our other dining experiences with Gabi James, even though some aspects of dinner fell short this time. Definitely worth a try if you've never been before!

One of the things I really love about this place is they let the meats do all the work and don't drown their meat dishes in cheap sauces or in salt. The octopus is very good. Like most French bistro they have a shorter but traditional menu, with the usual suspects - onion soup, pate, escargot, charcuterie board, mussels, steak frites, Bouillabaisse - but what drew us in was the duck confit cassoulet. We have eaten cassoulet in Carcasonne, the home of cassoulet, and this was definitely worthy of the name. Gamey, savoury, duck falling off the bone, beans swimming in an umami broth, definitely lip lickingly good. However the vegetarian cassoulet was not as flavourful, it was nice, but needed more garlic, pepper, some herbs or seasoning, a little more oomph. The fennel was delish, but the beans bordering on bland and there was very little broth to dip my baguette into. With a belly full of beans we decided to order dessert because why not! Life is short, eat dessert, c'est la vie. Creme brulee was creamy with a tappingly good sugar crust, and the chocolate mousse had a nice consistency but was overwhelmed by cinnamon, which was a pity. It was definitely worth the visit for the Duck cassoulet, and we will visit again to try the onion soup and moules.

I was delighted, therefore, to find the fried calamari at 22nd St. Landing nearly perfect. The flesh was tender, and the breading was minimal, just enough to give it texture and extra flavor. I would have rated it perfect except it was a bit too salty, though not enough to ruin my experience. I chose this "appetizer" as my main course. I can also recommend the clam chowder, the first spoonful of which evoked a "wow" from me. Super rich and creamy, the chowder has big chunks of clam which were not uniformly tender, but overall satisfying. I finished my meal with a simple, house salad that balanced the richness of the chowder and fried seafood. Has typically been decent. This last was absolute $hit. Lemme elaborate... Wifey got the classic chicken salad w/balsamic dressing. Far from classic. Loaded with iceberg lettuce and I mean loaded. The least expensive inclusion in a salad. That said, while it is supposed to come with cucumber slices, it did!!! All 3 of them. Lettuce was obviously not entirely fresh as there were soggy limp leaves throughout. The grilled chicken was dry and tomato slices were about an inch thick. The tomatoes and dressing were the best part of the salad. Wifey refused to eat the vast majority of it as thoughts of salmonella and psyclosporiasis began to dance through our heads... On to my "Maria's Salad Burrito w/shrimp" and an avocado "extra". (For a mere $3.50 extra I might add). When they advertise "with shrimp" understand they are being literal. One effing shrimp in the entire burrito. ONE. O.N.E.. ONE... As for the avocado, it too was virtually non existent. Maybe 3 little fingernail sized pieces. Will never ever go back to this piece of $hit establishment. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. I refuse to be shamed. You, Prontos, have been.
