A very quaint and family Mexican food Cafe. Beautifully decorated. The staff were super friendly. We sat down and immediately comes chips and salsa. And the menus. Didn't take long to order. The order was as follows. A chicken tornado in a shell. Included chicken, sour cream, onions, cheese, and I believe beans. For a beverage lemon flavored iced tea. Also ordered a side of guacamole. The other was a bean and cheese wet burrito. With a red sauce. Onions, cilantro, and green chili's included. Very large portions here folks. They don't scimp on the chicken either. Best service we've ever had. Family and I were picking up our son from a Catalina Island retreat and yelped Mexican Food while in the area. We are so glad we found this little gem of a restaurant. We were immediately greeted by the wonderful waitress with chips and salsa once we sat down. Our party of 6 really enjoyed our meal consisting of a wet Chile Verde burrito, 3 tortas de asada, tortilla soup, taquitos, and quesadilla. All of it was wonderful! But the real star of the show was the hospitality. Each staff member walked over at some point to make themselves known and ask if we were okay. Dine in area is pretty small. Clean. Don't go expecting any kind of charm. I thought the food was bland. Service was just average. Salsa was good! Prices were too high for the experience. Went in for a late dinner. Ordered a wet carne asada burrito and husband ordered chicken pozole. Everything was absolutely delicious! The meat was so tender. We all ordered from the combos menu. My older sis got the taquitos, my other sis got enchiladas, and I can't remember what I got. The food was just okay. Nothing spectacular and not super flavorful. I think they're known for their Chile relleno? Maybe we should've ordered from the entrees. I did enjoy the chips and salsa. Super good! I came here because i wanted to get some type of steak asada nachos. They had them so here i go! Placed my order with the very nice lady in the front. Nachos were good. I wasn't a fan having carrots in them but removed. Other then that they were great!! $14 dollars for it. Very nice inside and clean. They have a VERY nice outside patio seating area. I try to go around town supporting small business due to hard times for just about everybody. Pinas is located in a parking lot shared with many other stores including a big grocery store/Vons. A step up in quality from the other Pinas in San Pedro. Not cheap. Large portions. Taste is so so, but service is quite good. This is a family run establishment and great concern for the customer seems to rule. No complaints. Coffee is fresh and fairly tasty. Overall, graded on a curve, this would come in at a B- to C+. Price for 4 breakfasts came to $120 with a 20% tip, so...not cheap. Tostada....meh. Burrito....good. Omelettes...so so. There you are. read more

A different taste than what I am used to. The enchilada sauce has a sweet taste /flavor to it which throws it off. Found this hidden San Pedro gem this week, we were craving some soup and called the restaurant and the very sweet lady let us know all the soups they had, we came in and tried the chicken pozole, the menudo, the meatball soup and a cosido beef soup. THEY ALL TASTED AMAZING!!! we even tried a champurrado and flan! Everything tasted so fresh and it wasn't too salty, the drink and flan were not too sweet, just the perfect amount! The restaurant was cozy and the customer service was outstanding, Pina (the owner) went over all the soups and came and checked on us throughout, they have been in business for over 30 years and let me just say, this place did not disappoint, we will definitely be back to try more dishes read more
