Went here last night and the food is AMAZING! This is a tiny family owned restaurant. There are a few tables and they don't serve alcohol. I noticed a lot of people place pick up orders here. Everything I tried was delicious and I enjoyed talking with the workers. They are all incredibly nice and make your experience comfortable. The enchiladas and fried ice cream is a must! Place is a rip. Carne asada burrito, hardly a spec of Meat. Tiny salsa and chips 2 cokes =$25 It was really a bean burrito I had to really look to see if it had beef. People like this need to find another business. Reading the other 1star reviews, they're dead on. A bean soup burrito They are smiling the whole way thru, knowing exactly what they're up to.....the salsa they charge you for both the chips and the salsa. They said we give you one salsa free, it is a tiny cup with it about a quarter full, if that. This is the biggest ripoff Mexican restaurant I've ever seen in my life. Also, the menu says its a $10 dollar burrito then its $14 in the bill, yet it still comes up $25. They shouldn't be allowed a debit card machine. Oh well Got me,..never again read more

Pina's is a 3 block walk from our home, but that's not the reason we go there. The family is warm and welcoming, the menu extensive, and food that is just plain delicious. They have some of the best Chile Colorado and Chile Verde, along with an incredible Taxquena. Be sure to ask for the house-made hot sauce. The flavour is fresh and vibrant, and hot. They can generally accommodate special diets and will let you know which dishes contain gluten while suggesting alternatives. So happy they are in the neighbourhood! read more

Stopping the slacking... at least for a bit. This Pina's, (family related to the one on 25th St.), is my personal fave. We've been coming here off and on for many, many years. The rice and beans you get here are about as good as you'll get anywhere. We often times order large plates of those two just to supplement our other offerings at family get together and functions. While COVID has wreaked havoc on almost all businesses, this Pina's has been hit especially hard as their dine in business, (already limited pre pandemic) has taken a huge hit. So, so glad to see that the take-out portion is somewhat thriving. As for the other food... chicken tacos and enchiladas are delish, the loaded nachos are just as good "re-warmed" the next day and their wet, green chili burrito is a tasty as f#@*!!! Today was my first visit to this restaurant and, while sitting there with my sisters, I learned that my father and my sisters had been dining here for over 25 years. One of my sisters described her previous dining experiences here as sitting at our grandmother's kitchen table and enjoying her food. The cafe is small and cozy and has been operating at this location for 38 years. The service was great and we all felt as we were welcomed into someone's home. The food was good. My meal of green chili, rice and beans was satisfying and the potato taco was very good. Marginal. Had the chili verde plate. The verde sauce had been whipped into a pure watery liquid with little flavor. Very disappointing. Beans and rice were both acceptable. Chips and salsa were standard. Facility is small but clean and comfortable. Service was excellent. With the reviews I had hopes for a special experience but it did not deliver. I do not recommend this place at all. I ordered a soup off their take out menu. Once i got home and served it on a bowl I noticed there was hardly any meat. It was mostly broth on the order. I thought it might've been a mistake. So i take it back and the guy there just starts bullshiting me saying thats the portion size and that i shouldve asked for hominy. Saying that the meat is very expensive and saying thats why they give so little. There literally was like 2 table spoons of meat inside this 32oz container. I have been going to Pina's for over 10 years. I especially recommend their chile relleno, chicken tortilla soup, albondigas soup (perfect remedy for a cold), or milanesa. My family has ordered almost everything on the menu and it is always good comfort food and amazing customer service, greeting every customer as a friend. It is a smaller restaurant near a busier road, but is the best Mexican restaurant in San Pedro by far with the loveliest owners. It is also very much a small local business. The owners are always so kind and appreciative, even when we ask for extra salsa or stay a bit longer talking in the restaurant. A cute little hole in the wall in San Pedro. Parking is decent- there was plenty of street parking when we went. I don't believe there was a private lot. We were immediately seated and the place is small and appeared clean. The waitress was very attentive- my water glass must have been filled at least 4 times even when I had just taken a small sip. The food itself was mediocre bordering on bad. My boyfriend got the Chile relleno burrito which was more beans than anything and I got a enchilada/chicken taco combo. The enchilada was good but the chicken taco was tasteless and the chicken tasted dry and old. I legitimately had the thought that they were using old chicken to make the taco. It was pricey for what was served. I'm legit worried I'm going to get sick. Overall, I definitely would not come back and would not recommend this place to my friends. read more

First time here and I had the steak Taxqueño. It was amazing and I could taste every layer of seasoning & cariño that went into it! It's on the spicy side, but I happily ate it sniffling all the way through! On another visit I had the chicken enchiladas verdes and once again they did not disappoint. Being overcharged cancels out my interest in critiquing the food. I placed a phone order for 2 asada dry burritos, but received steak picado burritos and one order of beef taquitos a la carte and was billed $21.74 Instead of $17.32 according to their menu prices. Silly me left a cash tip on top of being overcharged... So I'm not too fond of establishments where I need to watch what they're charging. All in all, heavy on the pinto beans with very little meat. So it was more like eating a bean soup burrito instead of the steak burrito you receive from Fantastic cafe or King taco. read more

That food was great, they have operated in the community for many years, great cust service etc etc etc. A friend had shared a post on FB that since COVID 19 they have been struggling. I ordered lunch with high hopes. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito asked for guac and sour cream. Burrito was big in size, no quac or sour cream and maybe 5 long flat pieces of asada. It was basically all beans in every bite. Sauce was flavored well though. Also ordered chile verde and pork was very over cooked pr possible old. Chile rellano* was very small and breading was just blah. Maybe they have been not doing so well because of their food quality and not COVID 19? On a good note the customer service was good. @Juan I believe I ordered last week Tuesday. I will see if I can find the post that asked the community to support your business.
