This was honestly one of the worst burrito experiences I've had in Southern California, and that's saying a lot considering how many great Mexican spots we have here. I ordered two shrimp burritos and two steak burritos and specifically called ahead to make sure the steak was fire-grilled, not the rubbery, boiled type of meat some places use. The employee assured me it was fire grilled "steak" That turned out to be completely false. Shrimp burritos: Good luck finding the shrimp. Mine was basically a tortilla full of spicy rice, bell peppers, and onions. I kept digging through it wondering where the shrimp were. Steak burritos: Even worse. The steak was exactly what I asked them NOT to give me; chewy, gummy, low-quality beef that was nearly impossible to chew. Definitely not fire-grilled steak. It tasted like the cheapest meat they could find. To make things worse, the burritos were overloaded with spicy rice and peppers, while the actual protein probably made up 20% of the filling at best. Instead of quality ingredients I got a tortilla stuffed with rice and a few scraps of meat. I wouldn't even serve this to dogs. Extremely disappointing and absolute waste of $60

This small, family-owned spot serves up seriously satisfying Mexican comfort food that hits the spot without trying too hard. I ordered a chicken enchilada, a chile relleno, and a hard shell ground beef taco--and every bite felt like home. The chicken enchilada was tender, cheesy, and smothered in rich red sauce that soaked perfectly into the tortilla. The chile relleno was the standout: stuffed, cheesy, and swimming in sauce, it was indulgent in the best way. And the taco? Crispy shell, seasoned beef, fresh lettuce, and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese--simple, classic, and totally satisfying. The portions were generous, and you can tell this food doesn't come from a freezer--it's made the way it's supposed to be. If you're looking for real-deal Mexican food made with love and full flavor, Pronto's is it.

Tasteless shredded chicken burrito with beans and rice .

I don't know what went wrong? I ordered one crunchy chicken taco, chicken enchilada combo plate and a shredded marinated chicken burrito. So I ate the taco first to run the risk of it getting soggy from the doordash delivery. It was okay. Now the burrito.... so it was combined with beans and rice . Everything was mushed together and there was NO taste/flavor with the chicken. The beans had absolutely no flavor and the rice, well it was just rice. Almost $65 wasted on tasteless entrees. My wife's enchiladas were bland and covered with alot of sauce and cheese. But even that couldn't help the meal. I will have to seek another nearby restaurant that provides authentic, quality taste mexican food next time around. I wish Prontos could have been better.

Albondigas 1 cup for to go

The food is good. It has taste and is clearly fresh made. The "crispy tacos" are not crispy. They are grilled fried, not deep fried so there is NO crisp. The marinated chicken has very little taste. They put veggies in their rice, I am not a fan. The albondigas soup I paid almost $8 for, was a one cup portion with no broth, 3 meatballs and lots of rice. It was the tastiest thing I ordered but $8 for no actual soup?

Simple bacon and eggs and wheat toast, inexpensive tasty and satisfying every time thanks, Pontos and that's just breakfast when I go there for lunch I get the shrimp fajita burrito. You can also get it with chicken or steak. You can also upgrade the shrimp to jumbo extra large shrimp totally worth it. I also have them add refried beans to the burrito is a bomb, literally a homewrecker. They also have ice cold beer and a small patio area that is dog friendly awesome family run business San Pedro style.

El padrino Burrito wasn't good at all had no flavor The steak or asada was horrible.. That's all I ate

The steak was so unflavorable.. actually the whole burrito wasn't good at all .. it looked really good , only ate about half of this burrito and I was out.. cute little restaurant.. but that was about it

Ask the Community - Prontos Mexican Grill

Anyone know if they have vegan options?? do their beans/ rice have any lard or beef/chicken broth?? and what about the potato or veggie tacos?

Vegan options not so much, I would recommend a Chuys Veggie Burrito with no rice and no cheese, that leaves you with : Black beans, Grilled veggies, fresh Guacamole and chipotle sauce.

I like the front entrance. They also have a side entrance but it's not as appealing to the eyes. A handful of tables outside in a patio area with a couple of TVs. When you walk in, it's like walking into a wine bar. At least that's the vibe I received. But it's a small family restaurant. Which is dope. Look like I arrived just in time for happy hour. The bar area gives this chill and intimate vibe especially with the many wine bottles being displayed. And the bartender is right there to service you with no problems. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. Even the two older women who didn't decide to speak until Barbara the bartender sat a bit late of fried calamari in front of me lol. That indeed sparked great conversation amongst the 3 of us. Talking about calamari and sone other restaurants. I'm used to drinking my Moscow Mules out of copper cups so this grey one was different and it was smaller in size but the drink itself was definitely refreshing. Wasn't tryna rush it lol. And It's $7.20 during happy hour. The calamari for me could have been seasoned better or more. I also would've preferred it to be fried a lil bit longer. I love mines crispy or a lil bit hard and not so chewy. With that being said, Barbara said to let them know next time. However, I believe it's a popular item and I could see why, especially with the portion size. It's very generous indeed. For $10.80 I would too. Barbara made me a Mojito and it was perfect. Very refreshing. Took my time with that also lol. A price of $7.20 you can't beat that at all. Very good price I must add. I personally think and feel like the filet mignon tacos were fire. No lie. It was tender. It was flavorful. Good portion size. I liked the presentation and flavors coming from everything. They're not street tacos either lol I would definitely get those again but I think they're only available during happy hour. 2 tacos for $10.80 during happy is an awesome deal. Before I left I thanked everyone for their service and even had the opportunity to chop it up with some staff members. Everyone was real cool. Fasho fasho. Barbara even introduced me to the chef on my way out. I believe his name is Angel. Great dude !!! and we also had a great conversation. I love the location. I love the service. I love the vibes and I love the food. Check em out for yourself if you're in the area or just wanna take a ride to somewhere new. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

It's a classic diner type restaurant that serves good quality food at a reasonable price. It took me a minute to select an omelette since there were so many options on the menu. But I ultimately settled on the avocado, bacon, and cheese omelette. It came with home fried potatoes. The omelette, on its own, was pretty good. It was hearty and filling. However, when paired with their slightly spicy salsa (which doesn't come with the dish, but you can ask for), it was fantastic. Seriously, ask for the salsa. You'll thank me later. Can't say much about the home fried potatoes. The potatoes were good, but nothing special. The same can be said about the service. I don't have anything good or bad to say about it. The server did everything you would expect from a server, nothing more, nothing less. One note about this establishment before I conclude this review. They prefer cash. And then this place popped up. Of course we were literally around the block from it beforehand. It's a cute little cafe nestled right among a cute little residential block. It's like a if you know you know type of place as it's not on a main street. Literally at the end of a block where's its basically homes. So a neighborhood cafe. There was plenty of seating as it was mid week during lunch time. We walked in which has an open concept with the wide window looking outside. There's a bar area with counter hi top seating and a nice patio out front with umbrellas covered tables. It was a little breezy but had to make do as we had the little pup with us. Checked in with one of the server which she informed us to have a seat anywhere we like. A good amount of the guest did occupied the patio seating which we did to as it was nice out when your in the sun but a little breezy. Menu wise, it's mainly breakfast and lunch. They only open till 3. We started off with the bubbly special which was a bottle and a juice. Can't have brunch without mimosas. For the price it was great, 21.00 I believe. Meal, they had a board right when you walked in with daily specials. We went with an order of the lobster omelette and the tri tip sandwich. Both on the special. It was between the lobster or Philly steak omelette which we were informed that lobster was a favorite among the guest. That was served with either house potatoes or hash browns and toast, biscuits. And the tri tip was with curly fries. Plus an order of onion rings to accompany the meal. Omelette was quite tasty as I wasn't quite sure with the ratio of lobster. Quite honestly, it was decent size chunks inside and a good amount of it. The hollandaise sauce added that extra touch to it. Everything was delicious. The tri tip sandwich itself was excellent. Served on a roll which was tasty and the sauce used was amazing. It just made everything work all together. Plus both the seasoned fried and onion rings were excellent. Both with a nice crunch to it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was a doll and the sweetest. Food was great and the mimosa's special was the finish touch to a nice brunch. The cafe itself was a cute addition to the neighborhood. Street parking along the front. Not sure if there's parking in the back. Overall, it was a great find and would definitely come back.

So this may have been my first (and last) breakfast here. My friend got the breakfast quesadilla, which was oozing with cheese--seemingly low-quality cheese, that gooey-looking kind. A little paltry for the price of $18. Why no beans on the side? I was considering the lobster omelette for a whopping $25 and the waiter raved about it and I let myself be persuaded. It was terrible! Drenched in a creepily orange supposed hollandaise (as we know, see photo, Hollandaise sauce is not meant to be orange), which looked like it was poured from a can. Thin and no lemon. Just some cheap flavoring. The waiter insisted that they had "made it this morning," so maybe they made it from a powder from a packet? I was starving so joylessly I ate nearly half of it and then subsisted on eating most of a generous serving of hash browns. Perhaps I was too timid. When the waiter did not offer any compensation, or to get me another plate of something else, I just dutifully sucked it up. Then he asked if we wanted coffee cake -- which should have been on the house, since he clearly realized I was not happy with the lousy omelette. If I'd not been with a person I was only meeting for the first time, I'd have been more plaintive, but I did not want to embarrass them -- they live in the area, and I do not. But just YUCK. When another friend joined us to sit and chat after our plates had been taken away he told us how he'd given up on this joint. I suggest something be done about the food quality and value.
