He waited in the drive thru behind someone for 25 minutes. What is happening with your service? A few things that are CONSISTENTLY terrible and don't make sense: 1. He asks for both kinds of red salsa - spicy and mild. You keep giving him mild only. He drives away and it's wrong. In the mood for tacos and decided to try El Patron. I was surprised to find that it's a "sit down" restaurant and not an order-at-the-counter, even though there's a "Place Order Here" sign attached to the front counter. It was warm inside, and luckily, someone finally came out from the back and turned down the A/C. The service was adequate, and our food was tasty. I liked that the hot sauce wasn't too hot; it's smooth and pourable as opposed to chunky. Portions were nice; I took half of mine home. Soft drinks are in a can. I'm deducting two stars because while we were there, a couple came in with their dog and proceeded to order and eat, feeding the dog off of the plate as it sat in the woman's lap. If this was on an outside patio, I wouldn't have given it a second glance, other than to think that the dog was cute. But I'm sorry, gross. We wanted a quick breakfast as we were heading out of town, and we saw that they had a sign saying they served breakfast all day long, so we tried to give this place a try. I got the Chilaquiles with green sauce and scrambled eggs, and honestly, it was not at all flavorful. I had to add their green salsa on top. It just came with some baked beans and a big portion of sour cream, and that's about it. Usually, with tequila, they serve pico de gallo or a side of guac or something like that, but this had nothing. My husband tried their breakfast burrito with chorizo, and he said that was OK. It was good for that spot. I also got one egg and bacon taco, and that was very typical with a one-slice of cooked bacon bowl and some scrambled eggs. Will I go back to the establishment for breakfast? Probably not. I didn't go in the restaurant itself so I can't really speak about the ambience however we did to drive-through they do have one window that you order and then you have to pull up to another one to pick it up so it's pretty standard drive-through system. read more

one time i went and it was pretty good but then i went a second time and my jalapeño salad was down right rotten.

Well, I will tell you I got my order to go because I had been doing yardwork and wasn't in the best condition to sit down and eat, but I was definitely jealous of everyone who had the free chips and salsa at their table. Looked amazing. I ordered two ground beef tacos, one corn and one flour and the chicken enchilada salad. Wasn't sure what I was going to get so I thought I would try a couple things that I knew were safe. The corn tortilla tacos were not crispy, which is what I was hoping for so I would just stick with the flower next time Since I had my order to go. I was able to put that taco on my flat griddle and crisp it up a bit. The salad was definitely not what I was expecting. I thought it would be chicken with onions and peppers or something along the lines. I believe it said it had onions on the menu. However, it was a great salad. It had chicken, which was really good tomatoes and avocado. Very tasty but I could've use some cilantro or something on there so I dumped the green salsa on top and everything was delicious. Inside I am so happy to see they have a great beer selection! So I will be going back for those chips, salsa and a beer. My next visit. The place is small inside but clean the people inside were very nice and I think it's going to be a great place for me to go and catch up on my Spanish again because I am super rusty. We came back for another round of mini tacos today and wow, they are consistent with the quality of food. We ordered lengua (cow tongue) and el pastor mini taco plate this time and I am in love with their el pastor. Juicy meat and it comes with pineapple. Love the generous topping of fresh cilantro and onion. If you sit inside, they offer chips and salsa too. First, the staff is just starting to become straight up unfriendly and rude. They don't greet you. They don't smile. They don't look at you. The building itself has issues. We've had a lot of rain recently and their roof has many leaks. Lastly, the food used to be really good. Recently, it's become ok to even bad at times. They Fumbled and Didn't read the room! Went in about 7:15 AM, they'd been open for 15 minutes. Waited for 10 minutes for my food. It's quick, affordable, and reliably delicious. We've tried most of the menu by now, but my usual orders are the Breakfast Burrito and the Breakfast Menudo -- both always hit the spot. The kids can be hit or miss with certain dishes, so sometimes we stick to the Easy Breakfast Plate or a couple of tacos. A very quaint restaurant that probably seats no more than 12 people. Being our first visit, I wanted to try some of the more challenging items that I love and truly seeing how good this place is. I've been eating breakfast tacos from here for over a year now and it's my go to spot. I rarely take pictures when I eat here cause i'm usually starving when I get it and always get takeout. Migas taco on corn tortillas with sliced avocado is what I get every time. I get a side of their potatoes too depending on how hungry I am. I love their migas as it is super tasty. I like the way they cook their potatoes too. I have also had their burrito which I like because of the price and customization options. Their machacado is also a good taco protein if you are avoiding pork, however sometimes it can be fatty chunks which is not my favorite. After having bacon in my burritos from here several times, I will say I don't like the way they cook their bacon. It's pretty fatty and flimsy while also being thick. It gives a vibe as if it's cooked in an overcrowded pan or slightly undercooked. Sometimes it even gives off leftover vibes. And personally in a taco i'm not paying for leftover bacon. Their salsa verde is delicious and I used to get it all the time but it gave me terrible acid reflux and I just started using sriracha at home instead. Overall I can recommend their Migas tacos, burritos, and potatoes. They have good breakfast prices, and a variety of menu items. I don't like how each customization runs up the price even for the little things but I understand. Sometime between last year and this year their cheese changed and it's not as melty or tasty but it's still fine. If you love migas it's worth a try in my book. read more

There was a lime wedge for each taco on the plate. The spices on the Al Pastor were really good. The asada and chicken were a little more bland, but the salsa provided made them just as good. The rice was good and flaky. There was nothing special about it except it was fresh and tasted normal. The refried beans had a better flavor than many other restaurants offering them. The chips were good as well, but I did love the salsa. It had a hot spicy kick that just hit the spot for me. The cost of food was very reasonable. In our opinion the carne guisada was better than the Al pastor. The meat is tender, needed a little more seasoning but was really good. The tortilla was great and not chewy. The restaurant is very clean and bright inside, including the restrooms. I was in the area for a doctor appointment and Yelp guided me here. I had the carne guisada and carne asada tacos. Mini tacos, enchiladas verdes and even breakfast tacos at 7pm for the younger one. After driving by the place multiple times, I went and tried El Patron Tacos (and more). They opened in January 2021, in what used to be Daylight Donuts. (You can still smell the hint of donuts as you walk in!) Their mini-taco Asada plate is excellent, with lots of beef and sauteed onions. The three-taco plate below is (L to R) Carne Guisada, Al Pastor, and Beef Fajita. All were cooked to order and delicious. Of special note is that you can get any full-sized taco served on their homemade white corn tortillas - a real treat! Well worth a visit if you haven't been there already. El patron has consistently been excellent in their flavor and quality. Their corn tortillas are so soft and slightly thicker than a standard corn tortilla. Doesn't break easily and tastes so homey. Pastor you already know 10/10. My bf turned me on to tripitas which were also delicious. I usually ask for mine extra crispy which makes it even better. Stopped by here for a taco dinner for me and my family on Cinco De Mayo 2 days ago! This little hole in the wall shop is located in Cedar Park. I thought it was cool how they included a drive thru. However unfortunately it wasn't working that day and I waited a good 10 minutes before getting to the window. There were 2 cars in front of me, the first car got their food, and the second car waited a good bit until just driving off. Once it got to my turn, I waited at the window for 5 minutes and didn't any service. So I just decided to park my car in the parking lot and walk in. Inside, I was able to put down my order immediately. It seems like they were super busy with Uber Eats, doordash, etc. orders, because there was a lot of people coming in and out picking up orders. I waited a good half an hour before getting my food. I did order a lot and they were busy so I wasn't too upset. The people working there were really nice though. I bought pretty much 3 of every taco on the menu and all of them were pretty good! My favorite was the lengua (beef tongue). I also ordered a side of rice, beans, and pico de gallo that were delicious. The green salsa was also bomb, my family and I ate all of that so quickly haha. Overall pretty decent spot with fair prices. I might try to stop by again on a regular day and see how long the wait is then. read more
