VERY AUTHENTIC!! Served out a truck next to a tire store with seating under a big tent. It's off the beaten path, it's not glamorous, but if you're near the area or heading west, you must stop by. I cried because it was so good, but mostly because I took too big of a chomp out of a pepper. Amazing tacos, vampiros, and sauces. Portions are veryyyy generous, as the meat is piled high. Food comes with lemons, cucumbers, and finely chopped cabbage + picked red onions on the tacos/vampiros. We liked the carne asade best. They also have burritos and quesadillas that looked huge. We enjoyed the horchata, but it wasn't strained too well - a little chalky and huge chunks of cinnamon. However the flavor was good and helpful for when I was crying.

The tacos and the Menudo is excellent. They serve it white and red menudo. The service is good the food is serve quickly. There's two locations one on 75th Ave. and Van Buren and the other is 83rd and McDowell Road both have excellent service. My favorite is on 75th and Van Buren ambience is nice and quiet outdoors .

Husband wanted birria, a quick internet search lead us here. We ordered the birria and some tacos. They were ok not that great. Chips were bland with no flavor. Salsas had no spice to them. Place smells and looks dirty. Worse of all, went to the restroom and saw this!!!!! Yuck! Never again!

Honestly the best Mexican food place around. I always get the carne asada burrito and carne asada fries and they're always so bomb! Has such good flavor and it's more affordable then Filiberto's. Always been a good experience!

I asked for carne asada fries well done with no meat. I got soggy fries with a way too much nacho cheese. :/ I got a small drink with it & it was $15.67. Most of the fries weren't even edible they were barley cooked. & they make you pay for the meat when you don't want any. The least they could do was make it edible.

Very convenient place to eat, and they have a drive thru. I'm not a fan of all of their items, but I do really like their shrimp tacos and their Strawberry juice. Very casual place to eat, I would consider this a fast-food restaurant.

Been coming here for a while for the breakfast burritos. They are excellent, there's nothing really special about them but they taste just like the homemade ones my mom used to make! The green salsa is also what keeps me coming back. Great flavor! My wife ordered the menudo which was also very good. Don't miss out of the Agua de Fresa either! Overall, I would recommend this place for a quick mexican bite. The staff was also very friendly.

To die for. Chips are gratuit. Service is prompt and knowledgeable. The entrance is via the kitchen as this was once a home, now converted into a great eatery. So you come in the side door to the dining room . Wait staff all greet you and guide you to the dining room, festooned with roses and talavera tiles. It's not kitschy, just gorgeous. The menu is ample and you can't go wrong with anything. The initial refrito dip, tho yummy, has pork. But they have the best, the absolute best black beans!! Try them just for a change. The restaurant is inside of an old brick home with wood interior and warm colors. The service was good-- friendly and food came out at a good pace, we were checked on regularly. We ordered an appetizer and then entrees from the lunch menu. The aguachile appetizer is SO good. It's bright, fresh, and has a lot of flavor in the green sauce. It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). I look forward to trying other items from the menu, I was eyeing the steak Mexicano or red snapper. Those dishes sound good for dinner.

This restaurant is centrally located near the ASU campus and offers generous patio seating in addition to their indoor dining area. I was greeted upon entering and since I was dining alone I decided to sit at the bar. I didn't realize you were supposed to order at the register at the bar, but the bartender was kind and took my order from my seat at the bar instead. I started with chips and salsa, which came with guacamole but I'm not a fan so I didn't give it a try. The chips were perfectly cooked and seemed to be house-made or at least a high quality chip as they were thick and had a good salty flavor. The red salsa had good flavor but mild spice. The green salsa was bright and had a little kick to it. I wasn't super hungry, so I only ordered one chicken taco (without the avocado salsa). The taco was pretty good, although I was anticipating a chopped grilled chicken but it came with more of a pilled marinated chicken. Still good, just not what I expected from a more "authentic" taco. I also missed having a salsa bar with toppings (onions, pico, etc) that you can add. Instead these tacos came as designed by the chef. I also ordered the mango and original house margaritas, both were refreshing and hit the mark with the chips and tacos. They had a $5 margarita for a special as it was Monday, but my margarita was full price. Not sure what the difference was, perhaps a lower quality tequila? This is a great spot for a quick bite or a light happy hour. They are newer, so show some local support!

Also bring a group. The portions are huge and the food is clearly meant to be shared. Trust me on this one, bring friends. I've tried a bunch of dishes here, and there are a few I always go back to. For the table, Camarones Locos is an easy choice. The flame grilled shrimp comes out hot and full of flavor, perfect for passing around. La Patrona ceviche tower is massive and worth the order. When it hits the table, you immediately feel good about the decision. El Pulpazo is technically an entrée, but we always order it as a shareable. The octopus is grilled perfectly and it comes with rice and beans, so everyone gets a little of everything. For entrées, my number one pick is the Lobster and Crab Enchiladas with green sauce. I think about this dish at least once a week. The enchiladas are packed with lobster and crab, and the green sauce ties the whole thing together. Honestly, I could talk about this place all day. To start, we ordered margaritas, Jarritos, and a few tequila shots, which were the perfect way to kick off the meal. For appetizers, we enjoyed the tostada de ceviche, prepared oysters topped with shrimp, bacon-wrapped shrimp served with rice and beans, and the aguachiles. Every dish arrived beautifully presented and freshly prepared, showcasing the vibrant flavors and quality seafood that this restaurant is known for. The ceviche was refreshing and full of bright citrus notes, while the prepared oysters were flavorful and complemented perfectly by the shrimp topping. The bacon-wrapped shrimp were cooked perfectly, offering a delicious balance of smoky and savory flavors, and the accompanying rice and beans were a great addition. The aguachiles delivered just the right amount of heat and freshness, making them a standout dish for seafood lovers. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is colorful, lively, and full of character. We initially sat on the patio, which was a pleasant setting, but as the afternoon temperatures rose, we moved indoors where the atmosphere remained equally vibrant and comfortable. Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.
