I've lived here for over three decades, and can't believe this is my FIRST time trying this spot. I had some relatives visiting and they wanted to try out a quintessential California experience - ordering lunch from a taco truck. There are a number of excellent taco spots in the South Bay area, and this one was the closest. We tried a variety of their tacos, including the fish taco, carne asada, pollo asado, and carnitas. Their pollo asado super burrito was delicious - warm and filling, and even half of it was enough for lunch. The tacos were all freshly made and beautifully garnished. Fort the price was a little higher than a regular food truck.we expected something really good ,when I did the payment he guy add a couple of dollar ... I said to myself ok let it be ....the food was in terrible condition the meat was reheated ,the rice was probably a couple of weeks ago . There was a smell very nasty . We had to dumped everything. Came by for lunch the other day and it was a tasty experience. Tacos La Morenita is parked on the side of the road and there were plenty of Hispanic blue-collar workers patronizing the taco stand while in their work uniform. Ordered a carne asada super quesadilla and it was huge, perfect for sharing! The quesadilla was filled with steak and cheese and came with a small side salad and some guacamole. Also ordered a couple shrimp tacos which was also quite tasty. Each shrimp taco had a ton of flavorful and tasty shrimp and was topped with some vegetables and avocado! Staff speak English and they also take credit cards! There is no dine-in option. Most seem to do take away and eat on the grass... read more

Best tacos ever, at least locally. I don't know of any other place that makes them this good. And you know it's delicious when everyone else in line is hispanic and ordering everything in Spanish. While I've also tried the burritos, the pupusas, and even the hot dog, the super tacos are my absolute favorite. Great salsa, lots of meat, they always have lengua in stock, and I get full just off of 2 tacos. As for the other items, the pupusas are also pretty good, but I do wish the outside dough was just a bit crunchier. Friendly service, and if you get lucky, you can also call ahead because I don't think I've ever seen this truck without a line. read more

I'm a park ranger in Cupertino and these kind folks were hired to cater an Apple event at my Park. I can say without a doubt these were some of the best food truck tacos I have ever tried! The flavor was there, the variety was great, and all the sauces were well made. All the staff in the truck are super welcoming and excited to make recommendations, I don't think I would have been disappointed with anything on their menu. This is one kick-butt taco truck. I popped in on the way to the airport to pick up a bite, but was almost stopped in my tracks long enough to miss my flight. I ordered three super tacos, Al Pastor, which is plenty of food for one person. Because for street tacos, these tacos are substantial. They got them to me pretty fast, and the guy running the cart is gracious and speaks outstanding Spanish and English interchangeably. These are may be the second best tacos I've had in the South Bay , which is saying something, because I do eat a lot of tacos around here. Oh, the only thing that could be better is if there were some tables outside to sit on - there's just a curb, which makes the experience a little more legit, I suppose, but I was wearing nice pants, and I did not in particular feel like sitting on the curb. We used to grace this taco truck more often until it became more popular since it's just around the street from where we live. The growing popularity is a testament to their delicious tacos and we used to be able to call in our order and it be ready for pick up! Nowadays, there's not much use to calling in your order as they don't make it ahead of time until you get there and pay. Expect to wait ~20-30 min depending on how many customers they have waiting regardless. Their tacos are what we typically get and they're all good and affordable! Haven't tried much of their other items aside from their pupusas which was also good! read more

Did not know how I let this taco truck slip through my list. Stop by today to get lunch, ordered 3 tacos and they were tasty. A bit of wait as there is a long line of people. When you see a lot of work trucks gathering around a taco truck, 9 out of 10 the truck is legit. I ordered a Carne Asada taco, a shrimp taco and a pastor taco. They are full of flavor and great taste. Price is very reasonable and staff is friendly. Their orange sauce kicks ass. I will be sure to come back to try other menu items. read more

I wanted to give great review, but yesterday the carne asada burrito was a little disappointing. In the past I been to this truck few times and their tacos have always been delicious. I guess all taco trucks have trouble with meats ( maybe running out), this taco truck was Ok. I came back because Frontera was giving less and less meats in their taco. I came back on a Non-Sunny day so maybe they were not prepared. I wish they told me, if they are running low on carne asada or the carne asada was not great that day, that they can recommend a different meat ( like Chicken or carnitas or I like lengua too or any wierd different meat I am willing to try) but they gave me the burrito and it taste like they were running out of meat. Even tho it did have meat, it was alot of hard to chew pieces and in general not the normal great meat. And instead of rice they might have mix in potato or I dont know what they mix in the meat, bell pepper or the taste was not that great. So the burrito I got yesterday ( Monday) just did not taste mexican....I was sad because in the past I have said good things about them when I went to nearby restaurant, I would say....the taco truck on Duckett Way ( La Morenita) is better than this restaurant. So I did say good things about them in the past. But on Monday, I paid 13.50 for the burrito and it was just not that great ( wierd taste). I guess i might have to go back to Frontera, sometimes Frontera has taco special I think its 14 dollars for 4 tacos...they are small but it comes with Bean and Rice and sometimes Frontera makes really good beans ( with lard?) and it taste so good like real mexican food. I might try La Morenita one more time since their tacos have been good in the past. read more

Great tacos and great service! Ordered three tacos: pastor, lengua, y cabeza. All three meats were cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. They have chips and a wide selection of salsas (cleverly stored in a little cupboard below the pickup window) that are all really good. As I was waiting for my tacos, one of the workers came out to wipe the tables and sweep the floor. It may be a taco truck but they take care of the space like it's a restaurant - so nice! So glad to have stumbled across this amazing hole in the wall food truck! These tacos are some of the best I've had. The food/ingredients are fresh, and the service was warm and generous (they gave me a free pineapple juice drink after I asked them again to give me some limes on the side). I got the carnitas taco (priced $2/taco) which was sprinkled with simple ingredients (nothing too Americanized here): chopped and sautéed onions, guacamole, cilantro, and some limes on the side. Best hole-in-the wall find. I noticed this place on the way to Fremont Older Space Preserve and decided to make a stop here on the way back. The tacos were also great, not oily or pricey. The cantaloupe agua fresca is also a must!! So fresh. And even though it's a food truck, there are incredibly clean tables and tents for shade by the sides for customers to eat and enjoy their meals. But what stands out about this place is the service. Tacos La Morenita makes the "treating your customer like a king" a reality. I had a great conversation with Juan Mota and the staff, and everyone was super friendly. Juan Mota truly cared to hear about me and my day, and I was able to practice my Spanish with them as well. What was even cooler was when I noticed them having conversations with each and every customer that I saw come by after me. This was amazing and shows that they are truly passionate about connecting with the community and delivering the best service. Upside - friendly service, awesome carne asada, fresh tortillas, onions, cilantro, tasty and fluffy rice, and BOMB salsas. Not so upside - zero toppings on regular tacos (salsa, cilantro, onions, radish in a cubby you put on yourself), bland refried beans, and smallish serving size.
