    A must try.

Tacos Los Michoacanos rang my bell with their vegetarian tacos and all the available sides which you could add post purchase. Everything was super fresh seasoned to perfection the rice and beans were shear magic, damn these were some very delicious tacos. The folks are super friendly and take great pride in their product quality and service. I heart this little Taqueria, you'll see me queuing up at TLM real soon.

    Filthy disgusting waterfront trash.

I really wanted to like this place. We walked up and down the row of trucks and the whole place was just gross. Filthy Dirty trash all over the ground. No one was picking up their plates after eating, just dropping and walking away. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but even Mexico City is cleaner than this place. Every truck has a gigantic blasting generator on the front. Hence the whole place is LOUD and smells of gas fumes. We chose the Michoacana because their generator was the quietest. Ordered 4 tacos and were honestly disappointed. Just a pitiful amount of food compared to our local taco joint in RI. On the positive side the bin full of salsas and sides was nice and the spices in their chorizo were good. We walked over to the water to get away from the generators and the waterfront was just covered with styrofoam and paper plates. People too lazy to put them in the huge trash bins. New Haven could have something cool here but it's such a horror show at the moment. Get some permanent power, some tables and get the truck owners to take some responsibility for cleaning up the area. Won't stop again.

I got the birria, carne asada flautas, and tacos al pastor. Al pastor tacos are the best in long wharf!!! Flautas were also good, but the birria and the consome was underwhelming (no chunks of meat and pretty bland). Salsa was good but definitely could be a lot more spicier. Will come back for the tacos!!!

This was my first trip to the food trucks along Long Wharf and I'm sorry I waited so long. The food here was delicious and very affordable. I went with three tacos, two asada and one pollo, and they were only $1.50 each. They are topped with cilantro and onions but you can request additional toppings (I asked for sour cream) and they have a bunch of sauces / salsas in front of the food truck that you can use as well. The tacos were delicious. I probably could've used one or two more to get nice and full but side options would have been nice as well, like rice or beans. Music is playing and there are a lot of people there so it made for a fun place to hang out and eat some great food.

Very good tacos. Strong choice on the wharf. Try the buche or tripa.

This is the best taco truck at Long Wharf. Comes with whole grilled jalapeño or onion. You need to hit this place.

The tortillas are made from fresh masa pressed to order, which is amazing by itself, but on top of that, every taco I've had is nothing short of delightful. Every time I visit, my order has been increasing by one taco because I can't get enough. They are so kind and friendly, they remember my order and preferred toppings (or lackthereof, met with zero judgement!!), and the atmosphere is super comfortable. It is semi-loud, which I personally have no problem with, but I have seen stuffy older people come in and be turned off (bye, more tacos for me!). When I die, please bury me in a mound of Tacos Los Gordos carnitas!!!! TLG, you will see me weekly as long as I live in New Haven.

Minutes later, chaos ensued, and there was a line of about 20 people that never went away. They make the tortillas from scratch, I watched a woman in the kitchen, piecing off the dough and then flattening them in a press, and then putting them on the grill, over and over and over again. By the way, their tortilla chips are made of this same homemade goodness. I can see why there was a line out the door until I finished my meal. The tacos I ordered were perfectly seasoned, very tender, and incredibly juicy. I don't think I've ever had tacos like that before. Even if there is a line, I would highly recommend stopping in for these delicious morsels.

It was close to 11 PM on a Wednesday, and after trying multiple spots that claimed their kitchens were open until midnight (Google lied ), VivaZ came through. We were greeted right away and seated quickly. Our server was patient, knowledgeable, and very considerate of food preferences at the table -- huge plus there, especially that late at night. Food I ordered the chicken empanadas -- they were big, filled with chicken and cheese, tasty but a little too oily for my preference. I'd love a drier, crispier shell, but I'd still try them again. My brother ordered the shrimp nachos and those were excellent -- loaded, flavorful, and honestly better than the empanadas in my opinion. My cousin got the same nachos and loved them too. A friend ordered the short rib empanadillas and didn't enjoy them. He sent them back and swapped for chicken, which he liked much more. Appreciate that the staff had no issue making the change. Drinks I had an Ilegal Mezcal shot -- my go-to when I'm at a Mexican spot -- and it hit like it always does. My brother's strawberry margarita was also a winner. Overall Friendly service, good food, great energy even late on a weekday. The fact that they were open and accommodating when nothing else was is major. Would we return? Absolutely. Rating: 4.5/5

I got fish tacos (I know, I know) - but they were actually super tasty. 3 for $20. You have to add on a few dollars if you want either sliced avocado or guac. I did avocado and they were super generous with it. Also, my cocktail was great. They have lots of different tequilas and Mezcals. I got the Julep that was made with Illegal mezcal, which I recently had back at home and was yummy. The drink was perfectly made and super yummy. They were also very nice here. The manager came over (John? I blame my faulty memory on the mezcal). He said that he orders lots of different tequilas and was happy to hear I enjoyed it. He and lots of the servers were also Mexican American. So who knew? You can actually get good fish tacos and Mezcal here in New Haven, Connecticut. I'm hoping to try other restaurants while I'm here but otherwise will come back here happily! (oh, and the patio is covered, which is great for a rainy day!)

The restaurant is loud and becomes a tequila shot bar in the evening. But, there are only two dirty, unisex bathrooms. The oversized, overweight, over aggressive bouncers enforce a time limit in the bathrooms...with vigor. We saw someone complain about the bouncer's and pounding on the door get tossed.....physically. YES, THIS BAR EMPLOYEES PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE BOUNCERS! Best for any decent person to avoid this hole and tell your student kids to stay away. We considered calling the cops but didn't want to miss the quality time and events with classmates elsewhere as it was our 25th REUNION! Way to improve the neighborhood, New Haven! Anyone with common sense should stay away from Geronimo's violence-provoking Tequila Bar.
