I went to this place with family and liked the food. There was an issue with Menu prices since they charged different prices and also included a service fee. When I asked Cashier Maria what is this service fee? She said it was for State and Federal taxes which made no sense since tax fee was already included. Not a single apology. Catering from this company is a RISK. You might get mediocre food with them on time and bringing everything, OR you might get mediocre food with your meal/party starting an hour later along with some type of miscommunication. At the 30 min mark I asked for a refund and the lady claiming to be the manager told me those orders were before mine. I was there I watched them order after me. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! They are next level shady At my work, we cater lunch everyday, so we have a lot of experience with different vendors. This is the WORST catering experience we have ever had. It was a mess from beginning to end! 1) They arrived late (which seems to be a pattern from the other reviews I've read). 2) Then they claimed we ordered a smaller food package than we did, but continued to charge us for the larger package. When we inquired what the price difference was, they couldn't give us a number. When we went to call the main office, they tried to offer a discount, to keep us quiet. 3) They cooked the food for their next party on our premises. They did this, and made our employees wait for their food, so they had time to cook for the next event. 4) They were rude to our employees, when serving them, and refused to give them certain menu items that had been approved ahead of time. This page is catering however they now have a storefront location on Lampson in Garden Grove. My family is in the process of a home rehab and are currently eating out a lot. We had breakfast and dinner at this location. They have taking over the old spot previously run as Tatyana's tamales.We had burritos for breakfast which were fabulous. For dinner we had tacos and a quesadilla. The Al pastor tacos were wonderful. The Assada ones were good but the others were great. Can't wait to try out the tamales. I am not sure where to begin with how bad this Taco Service was from start to finish. First of all, we booked them two weeks in advance with the understanding that they would arrive at 3pm (which is when my birthday party started), begin serving food from 4pm through 7pm. At 11am a woman from this taco service called my boyfriend to confirm the whole order and says they will only be serving for two hours from 4pm-6pm. And explains that my bf would have to pay an extra fee for them to stay another hour, of course we are at their mercy, so my bf obliges but also requests if they could supply food for possibly 10 more people. The woman then says yes but charges an additional $150. They arrived LATE at 3:30pm, then set up in a far away, hidden spot on the opposite side of our house in the RV parking where NO ONE from our party could see them let alone knew they were here OR that the food was ready when it was ready. They used the excuse (mind you it was now 4:30pm when they were ready and the sun was going down) that they set up on the side of the house because they were out of the sun when it was only in the low 80's and never bothered to ask for an ez-up when I believe MOST/ 99% of taco services bring their own ez-up's. Then they decided to start packing up and leave at 6:30pm and almost left with ALL of the meat we paid for until my bf stopped them and asked them to cook all the meat so we could put them in chaffing dishes for our guests to continue eating. These caterers said they only had a little left and then showed up in our kitchen pissed off with a pile of chicken and burned what they said was left of our carne asada. To top it off they only gave us one small pitcher of the agua de pina that we paid for and then left with the massive container they had of it. My father being the nice man that he is and unknowing of the BS these people were pulling he gave them $40 tip as he got his food. When being paid Arturo had the audacity to smirk (like you got f'ed over) when my bf asked for his change and told my bf he didn't have change for a $20 after charging us $550 for the worse taco catering service we have ever experienced and took our extra food with them. So I was charge for 1 extra hour, according to the onwer's daughter. I was 3 hours and 1 extra. Talking on the phone with the owner, he was confused and said that his people does not know anything. So he still charge me for the half hour that they not serve. People be aware of this type of service. I'm shocked by the bad reviews. Hired Tacos Ocampos for a small party of about 25 and couldn't be happier. Arturo showed up on time and prepared the food quicker than expected. I ordered carne asada, chicken, al pastor and veggies and he surprised us with carnitas too at no extra charge. All the food was excellent and even the light eaters went back for seconds. The teenage boys were in hog heaven, literally. All the guests commented on how nice Arturo was and how good the food was and a few got his card. We hired Tacos Ocampo for a small party of 25 guests. After calling over a dozen taco catering companies that were either already booked or overpriced, we decided to go with Tacos Ocampo. They arrived on time and were there for three hours. One hour to prepare the food and two hours for serving. They brought their own table and set it up beautifully as can be seen in the the photos on Yelp. The package we ordered included three meats, rice, beans, quesadillas, horchata, and condiments. Everything was delicious. Many of our guests complimented the food and asked for their business card. Since we had some food left over because our guests arrived later, they were very helpful packaging everything for us so they could enjoy it later. We hired Tacos Ocampo for my son's baptism reception and we were definitely pleased with their quality of service. For starters they promptly responded to our inquiries when trying to decide to book them. Their prices were very reasonable and they only needed 30 minutes to setup for a party of 50. They also did not require a deposit. We made a last minute change request a week before the event and they kindly responded promptly and were accommodating. The day of the event, they arrived on time and setup really quickly. Our party was at a park so they setup a large tent area, where they would be cooking and serving, too keep them and my guest out of the sun while they waited for their tacos. All my guest were impressed by the quality and taste of their food that many had seconds and even thirds. Some even took some for the road and many took a business card. We greatly appreciate the service Tacos Ocampo provided for my son's party and we're greatly impressed by their professionalism. My only critic would be that we did not receive a follow up order confirmation at least a few days before the event which would have been a good gesture of customer service. read more

We recently had Tacos Ocampo for my daughters birthday and they did SUCH a great job. I was a little nervous because they were cheaper than everyone else and they didn't have any reviews. (which is why I made one for them) but, they ended up being so good. We ordered Carne asada, chicken and carnitas ( all made to order) with rice and beans and it came with tortillas, cilantro, onions, spicy radishes, cheese, red and green salsas and HOMEMADE rice and beans. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. There are many other taco caterers out there that will give you a better experience and probably better food. I highly regret not reading the 1-star reviews prior to hiring this joke of a "catering company" for my work lunch because I ended up having very similar disastrous experiences as many others on here. Their food was mediocre, but their "service" is what made this entire experience the absolute worst. I say "service" in quotation marks because this company doesn't know the first thing about customer service. Tacos Ocampo was hired to serve us lunch starting at 11:00am, for two hours, until 1:00pm. They had confirmed to me several times, including the morning of the event, that they would arrive at 10:00am and use that hour to set up. All of this ended up being completely false. The gentleman showed up at 11:05pm, 5 minutes past our promised lunch service start time. When I called earlier to ask for his ETA, he said he was running late because of traffic, and then he has the audacity to blame my calling him for him missing a turn, which would make him "more late." This is just ridiculous. An apology for being late (which we didn't get a single one of) would have barely been accepted, but instead we get blamed? Absurd. Second, being an hour late due to traffic, in my opinion, is a lousy excuse ESPECIALLY if this is a mistake he is commonly making, which seems to be the case per others' reviews of this experience. So clearly, this gentleman doesn't know how to learn from his past mistakes to better service his patrons and uses "traffic" as a cop out excuse every time he's irresponsible with his time. So, he pulled into the parking lot in a white van that says "Window Tinting" across the side at 11:05am, and without a single apology for being OVER AN HOUR LATE! During the lunch, I noticed there were no chips, guacamole and pico de gallo, which was listed off in an itemized list they sent me via email. I kindly asked him where the chips were and he says I did not order a package with chips in it. I showed him the email, and without batting an eye, he continued to say, "If you looked on the website, the package you ordered is basic and no chips." Ok, but why should I have had to look on the website, when in your email, you went out of your way to so clearly list out what you were going to be providing? It is not my job to fact check your emails... Again, another moment that could've been quickly diffused with a simple apology, but none was given. Instead, again, he makes it my fault for not fact checking his email by cross-referencing it with his website. In case you haven't noticed a pattern, this gentleman, who claimed to be the "owner" (which is confusing since he had to later call his BOSS regarding a price adjustment for the terrible service), is FANTASTIC at blaming his patrons for every little thing that goes wrong and cannot own up to any of his mistakes. To top it all off, when I went to speak with him at the end regarding all that went wrong, he took a personal, offensive jab at my role as a teacher for speaking to him in a stern, angry voice. Mind you, I went out there believing this tone had to be used because when several others tried to speak to him kindly prior, his response was arrogant and unapologetic. Only when the stern, upset voice came out did he bring up if we wanted a discount. He also tried to play the victim card by saying, "But I drove one hour to come here." Seriously? It's called a job. People have one hour commutes DAILY. You don't see them using that as an excuse for poor performance and buying sympathy from others every time they have to drive an hour to work. Also, it was very clear where our location was when I initially emailed them for a quote. If the distance is too much to handle, do not book us. Also, welcome to Los Angeles. Traffic is a norm, and no one feels sorry for you for having poor time management and being unable to plan ahead like an adult. As if there weren't enough broken promises and failed expectations from this them already, in the end, our 2 hours of service time was not honored as I have photo proof of him loading up his van at 1:00pm. All in all, this sad excuse of a catering company and the gentleman who claimed to be the owner, does not know the first thing about customer service and has a very long way to go and a lot to learn if they want to build up a respectable reputation as a food service provider. Til the end, he did not offer a single apology, nor did he understand the principle behind why all of these things were issues to us. His attitude was incredibly rude and immature, and his inability to understand why his money-paying patrons were upset was really sad.
