It's the best. Meat is always good. Not too oily quesadillas or tacos, pastor and quesabirria is great!

I love having food trucks in our area, so I try to use them as often as possible. I've been driving by this one for awhile and finally got to give them a shot when family came in and we had to feed a crowd. Three of us ordered Burritos, the other - two tacos. The Al Pastor Burrito was big and the filling pretty flavorful. The other two were just okay. The meat one was bland, but filling. The Bean & Cheese had Rice in it, which we had asked to exclude. My daughter, who ordered the tacos, only got one of the two she ordered, they gave her the Al Pastor, but forgot the Vegetarian, as well as the side orders of rice & beans. This may have been a miscommunication, when I called the dispatcher asked which truck I was picking up at, so maybe the full order never made it. Our order was ready by the time we got there. All -in-all not an unpleasant experience, maybe 7/10, we'll probably be back because it's convenient, but there's lots of better Mexican food in Salinas. read more

This place I found on yelp , a little hole in the wall . There food was authentic and very very tasty . I had three molitas , which is basically a small quesadilla with birria or carne asada steak with corn tortillas on both sides like a sandwich. This place is not fancy at all but you can tell these women that make food here make it with love . Also real cheap compared to other taquerias in the area ! I will be back . I hired this taquero for a family event. It was a last minute thing (1 week in advance) and there weren't many options. I decided to give them a try. First Impressions: Very basic phone conversation. Straight to the point. After agreeing on a time and date, the main contact was very non responsive. I had to call him the evening before just to confirm he was coming. The event: The equipment arrived on time, but I overheard him telling his friend there was a leak in the propane somewhere. He said he would fix it. It wasn't. There was a major propane leak and smell the entire time. He also must have been very busy because the two servers who came to work the event were very young and unenthusiastic. You can tell they did not want to be here. I even went out of my way to make them feel welcome. Lucky for us, the food was prepared by a different lady who had came earlier for the setup. The Food: The tacos were amazing, that's the only reason I'm not giving them a one star. We had four types of meats and two salsas with some fixings. Nothing else was provided. The youngsters were responsible for grilling some jalapeños, which they did poorly on. I had my aunt jump in there when they left and she cooked them to perfection. For the price, I would have expected more options. My usual caterer was busy, but he is less expensive and provides something to drink and rice and beans on request. Overall Experience: I'm really big on service, and that's where my rating originates from. If I'm going to fork out $450 bucks, I at least expect my guest to have a good experience. Don't make your kids work if they don't have a desire to. To make matters worst, I was told the equipment would be picked up that evening. They didn't come get their grill, canopy, and other supplies for another 3 days. All they did was leave my pavement with oil stains. Talk about a Fiesta on Wheels... If you are throwing a party and you want to have a good time and not slave away behind the BBQ grill or stove then Tacos Pacheco will do the trick. I went to a friend's daughter 2nd birthday yesterday and the place was packed with friends and family. The "papa" of the 2 year old is a chef and so were some of the partygoers but he obvi wanted to enjoy one of his few days off with his drink of choice... tequila... shots... Tacos Pacheco was a hit. Pacheco (yes he was there) was cooking up tacos galore alongside the best arroz (rice) and solid frijoles (beans). The meat cooked at this party was Carne Asada, Al Pastor, some white fish - tilapia? and Tripa. I'm not a fan of Tripa but it was pretty good (a bit gritty for me, maybe could have cleaned the stuff out a bit). The Carne Asada and Al Pastor had mean moaning and groaning and screaming Ay Ay Ay... Papi... (in my mind of course). It was that good. Fresh warm corn tortillas, sides of cialntro & diced onion, ,lemons and radishes along with 2 killer salsas (one red and the other green). He brought his special flat top grill on wheels (literally, I saw them) via his pick up truck. He was super professional, kind, gentle, with a nice smile. I'm pretty sure he speaks decent English although I spoke Spanish with him. His business card is in Spanish but if you want authentic killer tacos wouldn't you want it from a Mexican? (you know what I mean) He caters and delivers period. Not sure about his prices but I'm guessing super affordable. He was there with his awesome cutting board chopping then grilling the meats and when it was ready about 30 plus people went though the taco line and most got seconds. After everyone was packed with tacos (my significant other had 9 most others had 6, I had 3 and a plate sin tortialls - less carbs j/k) and cerveza (tecate, corona and tequila)... Pacheco wiped off his grill and loaded it in his truck with the help of a few inebriated men. Bye-Bye Pacheco and muchas gracias for the best tacos I've had in a long time. Most of us asked him for his business card in hopes to use his services at a future party or any gathering for that matter. Seriously what a smart idea. Nice work Pacheco! I ate lunch here with my family today. We ordered tacos al pastor a burrito al pastor asada torta and pastor torta. The lady put onion on the tacos and torta after I said NO ONION. The tacos & burrito were ok. The tortas were unappetizing. The bread was cold and she didn't put avocado, which she said it included. After we finished our meal, I noticed the lady cooking kept wiping her sweat and rubbing her hair and face while cooking. Gross. Never again! read more

Tacos Pacheco has to be my favorite Mexican food restaurant If you can call it that. They have a taco truck that they bring Monday-Friday at the entrance to Moffett Street (next to the Salinas airport right off the 101). The prices are reasonable ($4.00 for a burrito or quesadilla, $1.25 a taco) and the flavor is superb! The red and green salsa are to die for. It is some of the best salsa I've ever had. They are very popular so make sure to come before 5PM as they sell out of rice and beans early (so no burritos). read more

We were looking for something quick to eat, this happens to be close to work we were expecting ok food. But let me tell you their al pastor was DELICIOUS. Ordered a torta and ate the whole thing. This is my 3rd time going this week since they do make different items that are not regularly on their menu sometimes. Had their tamales (not reg.) which were good as well, and I won't eat chicken tamales anywhere regularly because I've found most places don't know how to make them properly but these were great especially with the different salsas they provide. Catered event mid February 2017. I had been looking for over a month for a taquero and with no luck did I find someone who would actually be there for more than an hour without charging an outrageous price. Then I FINALLY got a hold of Pacheco to set a date and time for my event. I asked if a deposit was needed (being afraid that they would not "save my date/honor the event") and he assured me not to worry, that they would be there. As the event date got closer I reminded the owner of the upcoming party and they said they would arrive an hour prior to set up... which they did & the lady who was attending the guests was very friendly and so professional. The meats were delicious, the salsas were super spicy & good! Overall service was a 10! I recommend anyone to get them for their parties, as they provide pretty much everything you need for tacos. If you want rice and beans it is extra. They do have a taco truck that is located off Market during the evenings, and also one in Monterey during the day time. Recomendado 100%!
