KATY, TX / TACOS / 02-12-23 / TAKEOUT DINNER -The trompo tacos were really salty. -The torta barely had any meat on it. -The sauces were filled in little make-shift bags via saran wrap and tied off, which were a little inconvenient. -Prices are a little higher than other taco trucks.

This place is in the parking lot near Stacked Ice Cream. I like how they have coverage and tables and chairs. They have table service if you are eating there. The first guy came to our table and introduced himself and the another person came and they spoke in another language and the first guy left and the new person came to be our server. Weird if they are fighting over serving us but make sense if they are taking turns on on tables. Well, the new server told us they were out of certain things (totally normal) and one of those being flour tortillas. Breaks my heart because I only like to eat flour tortillas. So my tacos and quesadilla was flour. Don't try ordering a corn quesadilla because it was the tiny corn tortilla. So, my quesadilla was smaller than my palm. Everything was going ok until I see the next table over and they are new customers that came in after us and they have our first waiter that tried to be our server and those customers have flour tortillas for their quesadilla or taco. I wasn't sure. Oh, man that rubs me the wrong way. The food was ok. The beans were the best thing there. I probably won't be stopping by again.

Man flipping tortillas with his bare hands and touching money! ¡Hombre volteando tortillas con sus propias manos y tocando dinero!

Food is really good but I'm not sure it's sanitary after my visit tonight La comida es muy buena, pero no estoy seguro de que sea sanitaria después de mi visita de esta noche

This is what they gave me instead of what i requested.

I went there today for food and they got it wrong. I asked for two gorditas and they gave me two tacos. Next time let the customer know that y'all don't sell gorditas. Food is actually good, but hire people that know what they doing

These were some of the best tacos I have had! I had them during the COVID crisis and the wait was long but WORTH IT. The bistec and mixta tacos with the spicy sauce were just insanely good with those CARMELIZED ONIONS. WOW. Be prepared to pay in cash though!

Great service! Happen to stumble upon this food truck on a cold night. They took your order and brought to the car so we could stay warm. Please note: These are Mexican Tacos, so corn tortillas are much smaller, so if you're looking for bigger portion, go with flour. We tried the Trompo and Bistec, both great in flavor. The gave cilantro, onions and my absolute favorite... grilled onions. The sauces (green and red) were delicious. Red spicier than the green. There are more items on the menu, will definitely be back to test out other items. Officially on my Top 3 for Taco Food Truck in Katy.

Quick service and always delicious. Tacos are 2 bites. I wish they had a clean bathroom.

Tacos are small, the meat had no taste no salt. Tacos are greasy. The torta was sloppy the quesadilla was greasy.

The tacos are too small for that price and they're not too great. They do take a little long sometimes even if you call ahead.

Best trompo I've had in the Houston area. They almost taste like the ones you get in Matamoros/Brownsville.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner with such genuine warmth that we instantly felt like family. It reminded me of being at my grandma's house, where everyone is welcomed with a smile and every meal is made with love. The food is incredible--fresh, authentic, and full of flavor. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. Not only is the quality outstanding, but the portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. It's becoming harder to find restaurants that offer both amazing quality and great portion sizes, and Castillo's delivers on both. The service is just as exceptional. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and truly cares about making your experience memorable. If you're looking for a place with delicious homemade food, generous portions, outstanding service, and an atmosphere that makes you feel like family, Castillo's is the place to go. My wife and I will definitely be back many more times. Highly recommend!

A special shoutout to Ulises, who made our experience exceptional. He was incredibly attentive, friendly, and fast without ever making us feel rushed. After living in Houston for…read more15 years and dining all over the city, this was by far the most disappointing restaurant experience we've had. What made it even more frustrating is that we've been to the Cypress location many times, and every single visit there has been exceptional -- great food, great service, and consistently enjoyable. Unfortunately, the La Centerra location was the complete opposite. We waited over an hour for our food, only to receive the wrong appetizer. The fajita plate arrived cold and without rice, beans, or tortillas. We sent both dishes back. The replacement appetizer -- ceviche tostadas -- finally arrived, but it was overloaded with lemon to the point of being unbearably sour. Meanwhile, there were still no tortillas, rice, or beans in sight. No drink refills, no updates, and barely any service during the entire wait. After another long stretch of waiting, we finally asked the server what was happening, only for her to return and tell us the kitchen was closing and they no longer had tortillas, rice, or beans available. At that point, after nearly 1.5 hours, we walked out with nothing but a to-go box of fajita meat. To the manager's credit, they removed the appetizer and fajita charges from the bill, but the experience itself left such a bad taste that it completely overshadowed the gesture. Extremely disappointing, especially compared to the excellent standards we've experienced at the Cypress location. Sadly, we will not be returning to this location.

This place is huge and can hold a lot of people, but I appreciate that they're not trying to cram as much people in as possible. There is ample spacing between tables and walk ways. Although it was busy, we did not wait long at all. Even the food that we ordered came out pretty quickly! We ordered the chicken fajitas for two and regular size queso. The chicken fajitas for two was enough to feed my husband, me, and our two little boys. The tortillas were sooo good! The queso was decent. It's pretty expensive for the portion that you get. I thought the fajitas were alright as well. It was good, but I still wanted to dip it into something. I believe that a good fajita doesn't require any extra sauce. haha We also got the sopapillas for dessert and it was alright as well. Overall, I would rate the food as a 3.5 or 4 out of 5. However, the main reason why I gave a 5 star is because we had an AMAZING waitress. Her name is Sarah and LET - ME - TELL - YOU -ABOUT - HER. Sarah was literally smiling and cheery the ENTIRE time. She was not only like that when she was serving us, but she was even walking around like that. She was polite, friendly, patient, respectful, and just a delight to interact with. She was on top of things, too! We never had to ask her to refill anything because she automatically did it. I also love how she placed our dishes on the table. It was symmetrical and esthetic. The restaurant was also super loud but once when she was walking away and I called out her name, SHE HEARD ME. She was very attentive. Seriously, she was awesome. Come to Gringo's, not for the food, but for Sarah! lol
