Fairly inexpensive place compared to what's available in the hotel zone. They include 10% tip automatically when you ask for a check, the only place I've seen around here doing this (didn't ask to change it as I felt like it was fair). And they take credit cards with no upcharge which is a plus. Service was very friendly but slow, food tasted amazing thus 5 stars! Highly recommend Mexican/mushroom alambres, it's with beef, mushrooms, green pepper and cheese, very juicy and flavorful. Came here and ordered pastor tacos and Neapolitan pudding! I came here during my vacation with my family in Cancun. I have always liked adobada tacos so we decided to try this place out. The neighborhood itself seems a little shady. Most of the houses had metal frames around their windows, which is a sign. We parked our car on the street, which later got broken into when we were eating :( definitely be careful in the neighborhood and park your car somewhere where you can see it!! Our lock got destroyed :( However, the food itself was amazing. The tacos were flavored just right, not too salty and not too bland. The pastor itself was also crispy, which was really nice! The tacos I had here were amazing (super authentic) that I'm still thinking about it because nothing in the United States even comes close. I came here on my first night in Cancun (dined outdoors) and ended up ordering take out from here the remainder of the week (after a long day of excursions) and they would deliver to the timeshare that we were staying at. These tacos are killer, not literally. I wanted to have some authentic style tacos since this is obviously a tourist area. Tacos definitely did not disappoint. I got bistec, suadero, and tripa, with the cheese option, all were delicious. Another great example of tacos. The meat was well seasoned and delicious. I had two pollo and two bisteca. I really wanted the arrachera (skirt steak) but they were out. The chicken quesadilla was also very good. The salsas - great! There was a spicy pickled lettuce thing, really spicy, creamy, and pickley. So so so good. I could eat that on anything. One of my kids got the lengua and tripe. I was afraid to taste it. The lengua was ok - flavor is fine. The tripe was surprisingly very good. Price was actually better than the other place we tried - Los chachalacas. People debate who is the better out of the two. I say they are both equal and great for different reasons. Chachalacas is more expensive, but they have better quality meat. Rigos meat is better seasoned. I like them both equally. read more

The tacos were subpar but the mango juice was good and It wasn't boxed juice so that was great. Food is good! We had some tacos and the burger, I would say 4/5. But the experience here when it came to paying sucked. We only had US dollar and the waiter tried to charge an additional $50. Our total was $2300 pesos and he tried and charge us $160 US dollar. When it should have been anywhere from $115-$120 with the current exchange rate. We then asked to pay card, and he said their credit card machine is down, so we end up paying the $160 in USD as he said that was the exchange rate the restaurant gives. We walk out after paying just to see some one else paying with card. We spoke to our waiter and told him that it was not right that he just lied to us. So he ended up just taking my card and giving me my cash back. So I would recommend to take pesos or ask before you order that they take card. If not they will try and give you 14 pesos for your dollar. Their food is good like I said but they try and pull a quick one to make extra cash off tourists. read more

Watch out if your check arrives in USD. Total rip off compared to pesos. They wanted to charge $39 USD for a $32 meal. Fortunately they will charge in pesos if you ask. And in spite of the Amex branded folios, they jump through hoops to actually charge an American Express. I ordered a special taco combination platter at the top of the menu not realizing it was for two very hungry people. I was served two 12 taco platters plus sides. Tacos Rigo was like Mexico's version of a fast food taco stand. The food is inexpensive and service is good but the quality is lacking. I ordered an arracherra taco, an al pastor taco and a carnitas taco along with queso and chorizo dip and they were nothing to write home about. All three tacos came with itsy bitsy teeny weenie little chunks of meat bathing in puddles of grease that were too small and overwhelmed with grease to really give off any resemblance of their attempted flavors. The queso and chorizo dip was like a small tub of grease that kind of resembled cheese and chorizo that may have been saltier than the salt you pour out of a shaker. The dip came with tortillas instead of chips, I don't know, maybe that is a thing in Mexico? All of the other places I ordered this dip always included chips. The salsas were good and there were plenty of radishes and lemon slice but tortillas chips were a much coveted commodity. read more

This place was right next to our hotel so we decided to check it out. It's definitely cheap for sure and our server was helpful when we had questions about the menu. We ordered cheese, enchiladas, and a torta. We also asked for a margarita and pina colada. Our drinks came out first relatively fast. The pina colada was sweet but didn't have any ice. It was good at first, but then became warm and unpalatable as we waited for our food. I enjoyed the margarita, but both drinks barely had any alcohol in them. The food took a lot longer than I thought it would to come out. We received all of our dishes at the same time. The cheese was okay (definitely different from anything I've tried before). The enchiladas were amazing however, and the torta was also good. We had a very hard time finishing our food because there was so much. At the end, we asked for the check and tip was already included which was nice (or maybe not if you like to tip on your own). Our total came out to be around $22 USD for everything. Don't judge a book by it's cover. A hidden gem tucked in a small corner surrounded by other hotels. If you are not looking into this court yard, you will miss this gem. I accidentally passed by and saw a packed house eating taco's. I decided to give it a try. I ordered 4 taco's with beef and al pastor with the waiter and he did not write it down but trusting he got it right. The chairs and tables were all dingy plastics and no plastic wear. 10 minutes and he came to me with three small dishes of hot sauce. He points out the spiciest one and warns me, which was nice of him. A few minutes after that, my plate of taco's arrived and boy, it looked good. All taco's were loaded up with beef or pork and topped off with nicely diced onions, cilantro and small chunks of mango. After my 8 taco's, I ordered 4 more beef taco's. BYOB or in my case, mexico coke was good enough for me to wash it all down. Total bill was $10 USD not including tip. I recommend this place if you don't mind the exterior/interior look and just good quality food. read more

Authentic Mexican cuisine Amazing service and kind staff Huge servings Very cheap I took the R2 bus from the Hotel Zone (super easy and highly recommended!) and got off at the Walmart. From there, it was about a 5 minute walk and it was WELL worth the travel. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Cancun! We FEASTED on the Grilled Rigoleto platter which included all the different types of meat, allowing us to create our own taco. This platter comes with guac, but we got more because we are Americans and we needed more? Got a 40 of Corona and a Mexican coke as refreshers. They also have bottled water (don't drink tap water in MX!) Our server gave us one of the soups with chickpeas to try for free and it was so incredibly flavorful. I didn't realize this soup is a common Mexican dish. I recommend giving it a try! Our total was around $20 USD and we could barely walk back to the bus we were so full. If you're in the area, stop by Walmart for some cheap goggles and swim toys before you head back to the Hotel Zone. read more

Loved Tacos Rigo!!! My family and I were staying in the area and were craving authentic tacos al pastor. I found this place on yelp and the minute I saw pictures of their vertical broiler, I was sold! They can be a little tricky to find as their location is kind of hidden on a back street, but anyone local can point you in the right direction. They are open pretty late night, and definitely hustle to get your order out. We sat outside in their patio area, and ordered some tacos al pastor with mexican coca colas (my fave). Service was great and our tacos were out within minutes. They were delicious, fresh, and loaded with pineapple and cilantro, yum! We definitely enjoyed our meal and would dine here again. read more
