Edit to add: I have been severely sick since I have eaten here. Absolutely do not recommend this place. This is the 4th time I've tried Tacos San Miguel and every time I have a different opinion because it's always seasoned either fantastic or it's completely flavorless. This time it was half and half. I think I'm finally done trying them and I'll be moving on to find a better place for tacos. I ordered the shredded beef taco, steak taco, fried pork taco and chicken taco along with a side of yellow rice and refried beans. To start, the chicken was alright. Didn't knock my socks off, pretty basic. The fried pork was a tad bit better but had pieces that were so over fried, they were hard to eat. The steak taco was impossible to eat...it literally was so overcooked, I couldn't even ripe a piece off. The piece I did get to eat was flavorless and tasted almost metallic. The shredded beef was the best one and had the most flavor. The red salsa was pretty flavorless and just spicy which was super odd but the green salsa had good flavor. The rice and beans? Meh. The yellow rice was hard and again, flavorless and I've never had more flavorless and overcooked refried beans in my life. Sadly, I could get better refried beans at Taco Bell. They do make good horchata, which is a plus. read more

No Bueno sad to say. We had high hopes between the reviews here and from FB. Let's start with the good. The place is super clean. The service was good, although it took a while to actually get our food. The prices are Uber cheap. But we soon found out why. Frankly, the food was disappointing. We had tacos and tamales. They were all dry. The shells were really dry and a bit on the hard side. I had some lengua tacos. The meat was really good. The problem was, the meat, while flavorful, was dry. No sauce or rendering. So dry meat, the chicken and carnitas were pretty much the same, and dry tortilla, means fry taco. Even with some salsa, it was hard getting them down. We drank a lot of liquid to help. The tamales were just OK. They had an overwhelming corn taste. And there lies the problem. That is all you tasted. The tamales and filling were kind of flavorless. The shell was moist, but since it had little flavor,, the moistness is kind of moot. Sorry, this is a no return to, but I wish them well. The search for the best taco in Cape Coral continues. So far, CubaMex on Del Prado is in first place. read more

Absolutely WONDERFUL!! Tucked in the corner of the shopping plaza, you have to be looking for this charmer! We started off with the chips and super fresh pico de gallo, YUM. Hubby got a carne asada burrito, I got the shredded beef San Miguel plate that is kinda like a fajita set up with the five great tortillas. The food is SPOT on in flavor and presentation! Warning, nothing is loaded with cheese, this isn't American style Mexican, it's the REAL deal!! Our meal came to $25....almost the price of a single meal in the uppity other Americanized Mexican places. They also have a food truck on Pine Island near Del Prada, simple menu. Its worth a whole two stars. The food was well put together but the main theme around each dish was bland/ too salty. I ordered a torta with rice an beans. They stuck one chip in my refried pinto beans an my rice looked amazing an had a great coat of oil on it but it was not seasoned at all. They treated my torta like a tortilla an i can understand why but it is a different dish an because they did that, my bread was soggy. The fish tacos were barely edible because of the salt on it. It was like they took the fish out of the ocean, killed it, cooked it an then threw it back in the ocean. The chips were hand made an great, and the carne asada was really sour taste in our mouths. The service wasnt bad but it wasnt great. The feeling of delicious food quickly turned to dread when, even though we ordered in native Spanish with help from our friends, they got our food orders wrong. I was hoping it wouldn't translate over to the checks at the end of the me and thankfully it did not. Now, i see the awards, the food has to be good. Came in for taco Tuesday for my first time here. It was inexpensive and satisfied my taco craving. I like that they had Tajin seasoning , it went well with everything and they provided green and red hot sauce in a bottle when our food came. A little spot that is kind of hidden. It's located in the same plaza as Party City but in the far right corner and you have to walk down a bit. Everything tasted good. However the beans were not my favorite and needed a little more flavor and was too watery for my liking but that is what I prefer. Also if you order a quesadilla it isn't like what you expect like other restaurants it's like a taco but with a lot of melted cheese. It was good but was expecting the other style (that's in between two tortillas and grilled the cut in triangles) . Check my picture of the rice and beans plate, the top one, sitting to the right of the beans, is their version of quesadilla. The torta was similar to the al pastor taco just on some bread instead of on a tortilla, very filling so it was all definitely a value. read more

My family was craving authentic Mexican food and we had previously heard lots of good words about Tacos San Miguel. We ordered delivery from a third party service and we were AMAZED by the quality and flavor of the food. We got enough food for the three of us and leftovers for less than $20! Some of the dishes we enjoyed: sopes de camaron (flatbread with refried beans, shrimp, pico de Gallo, and cheese), shrimp quesadilla, tacos al pastor, tacos de barbacoa and chips and guacamole. Everything was incredibly fresh and portions were generous. The tortillas were homemade and delicate thin but held up well to the taco fillings. It was difficult to find the actual store front as it is located in what can be considered an alley at the corner of the shopping center not facing the parking lot and other than a small sign placed on the sidewalk it was not easy to see the restaurant was towards the back. I decided that I would order the jalapeño poppers appetizer and the person at the counter stated that they did not have any. I proceeded to order some tamales and was informed that they were out of those as well. Finally I decided to make a safe choice and I ordered chorizo tacos as well as the carnitas tacos which were not bad. I also lucked out in that they had nacho chips. I will say that they did provide a decent portion of pico to go along with the chips. I may go back some time in the future hoping to have a better experience. At least I know how to find the place now. Better signage will certainly benefit them. read more

It's difficult to find, tucked in the back corner of a strip mall, but well worth the hunt. Ordered a chicken and pastor taco, and a chicken enchilada. Way too much food! I'd suggest just two. They came with delicious grilled onion, cilantro and lime. 5 stars on the chicken choices, but there was too much char in the beef pastor taco to enjoy it. We ordered delivery from this restaurant. The food arrived timely and it was still warm but overall it was not as good as expected. I got 4 tacos with rice and beans. The shrimp, steak, and tripe taco were good but el pastor was mostly onions. The rice and beans were not good at all, very pale and bland, I think they used white beans instead of red. The chips and guacamole were solid and the shrimp cocktail was good too, it's tastes fresh but it was missing some heat. The food was just ok and did not leave us wanting more. read more

I've been a pretty loyal patron. We would go to the truck on Pine island road after softball games and we order fairly often through bitesquad. Last time I ordered they forgot my Sopes. In order to go through the hassle of refunding via bitesquad. I drove down and picked up. Today we ordered for our medical office and it will most likely be my last. We asked for the grilled onions and salsa verde for our orders. We were given 1 small Ramekin for our entire order. No grilled onions. And the icing on top was a black hair in the rice and the beans were watery. I called to discuss and they told me they were being generous to give me the one side of salsa verde. And as far as the hair he had to consult with the manage and call back. The call back told me I could come pick up a side of rice. No thank you. Poor customer service. read more

I do not recommend going to Tacos San Miguel. The food was alright. Their service was okay. I am just upset that we only got one fourth of a lime for 6 tacos. Another fourth of a lime for 3 more tacos and two burritos. Basically we only had one whole lime for our whole meal together. The burrito had too much rice in it. The salsa was only halfway filled to the little container and you have to pay extra for more. To me this restaurant is just a waste of money. read more
