Tacos Veganos is delightful - friendly, knowledgeable staff, clean, no-fuss interior, plenty of seating, and AMAZING FOOD. We sampled: -The taco plate special: 3 tacos served with rice and beans. You can choose a different filling for each taco; ours were asada, al pastor, and pollo - all delicious. -Quesa birria dorado: a truly inspired situation of crunchy taco, melty cheese, and birria. -Consome regular: birria broth, because you can't have too much of a good thing. A little salty, but excellent flavor. Although everything was delicious, I am withholding 1 star due to cost/benefit as the amount of food for the price was slightly lacking. While I get supply chain issues and inflation, I do think $30 for fast food tacos (even delicious vegan ones) is a little steep. It's really cool to see a local grow. I last visited Tacos Veganos on a hot summer day several years ago. At that time, they had a truck parked in an alley between two businesses. Ar that time, one couldn't miss their logo and that big black taco. I remember waiting so giddy to have their tacos under the sweltering and oppressive heat of the desert. My order was ready and I ran to the cool confines of my brother's truck. Here's a tidbit about me, I despise eating in any vehicle. I enjoyed every bite and favor that day. Fast forward to a couple of days, I returned to the Valley of the Sun and discovered that Tacos Veganos had taken over the Beaut Burger location. Sad to see to Beaut go but ecstatic for Tacos Veganos to inhabit that space. The bold and brightness of the truck is all over the inside of the space. It's inviting and easy to order at the counter. The menu is 100% vegan with emphasis on Mexican Street Tacos made available with different protein options. Non-GMO soy is one of the options as well as Jackfruit. I ordered the Birria tacos and Vegano fries. We sat down and a short time later our order was ready. It came with two bottles of sauces. One red and one green. Both are good but I prefer the red as it is slightly more spicy. My Birria tacos with the consume were authentic and packed with flavors. One could blindfold 100 taco experts and I would wager to bet that no one would know that they were eating vegan tacos with Jackfruit. It was that good. The consume was spectacular, greasy, juicy, messy, flavorful, hot, and spicy. If you go this route, you're going to need a handful of napkins otherwise suffer the fate of consume juice on your fingers and your mouth. The Vegano fries were good but I think I like order more tacos next time. I could have eaten another three or four more tacos and really empty the well of the consume. If you are looking for authentic tasting Mexican tacos but Vegan, this is the spot. Everything is vegan but it doesn't taste Vegan We decided to try a little bit of everything. Asada Taco- This was my favorite out of all of them, it taste just like carne asada and the texture was perfect. Chicken Taco- Like shredded chicken but it did taste like soy, but delicious nonetheless Birria Taco- Top two for sure. Has the flavor of Birria and consistency. I come here all the time and I have yet to try a meal that isn't delicious. My personal favorites are their flautas, potato tacos, and their taco salad. the potato tacos are what I would recommend the most -- I crave those on the regular. If you're less of a fan of vegan versions of meats (like myself), your options might be a bit more limited, but most things can be done with just beans instead (and are still delicious)! Every interaction I've had with staff here has been very pleasant as well. I swear they hire the kindest people. I'm usually a to-go order girly, but they have a good amount of seating both inside and outside if you do choose to stick around. I had a combo plate with three street tacos, so I could try each type of "meat." They were all so good! I bet even meat eaters would enjoy them. We were told 15 minutes and the food came out in a timely manner. Great seating options for indoor and outdoor. Everything had great flavor. The flautas were a little too hard and crispy for my mouth. The cauliflower taco was loaded. A little bit too much sauce in my opinion because it got everywhere but great overall flavor. Had a truly sorry excuse for nachos last week. Only 1/3 the chips had cheese. Negligible beans and a sprinkle of meat crumbles. I was like, what is this? Aren't nachos supposed to be loaded in cheese, and, I got this because it had beans and meat and would be as substantial as a $12 burrito. I literally just paid $15 for a plate of chips and 3/4 cup of pickled jalepenos wedged into the side of it. So very lightly sauced all around it's crazy they call it guac - it's a very light, creamy green sauce. The photos online make it look great and like it should be enjoyed as a meal! Then they told me I could buy more cheese but sort of just smiled and laughed that I said it was insufficient and barely had any cheese on it. Truly sorry I didn't take a picture. I got a pollo taco too, for around $4, meanwhile my friends $5 Baja Cauli taco is about 3x the size, loaded in sauce and cabbage, and delicious, next to my barely 2 1/2 bites of protein in a street size taco with a tiny drizzle of "guac" (nothing like huge globs shown in photos online). I'm not saying it isn't tasty and maybe the menu is half consistent - I appreciate a small business keeping its doors open and charging what it needs to, but I really don't appreciate such pricing discrepancy among menu items. That does not feel like a good value and does not convey a desire to come back again to enjoy the value. There is no value in that, whether the food is good or not. I also paid $3.50 EACH for very small sides of super standard, very straightforward rice and beans, that were worth $1.99. All in all the whole thing felt like an utter waste of almost $30! Should have just got the single $5-6 Baja cauli taco and called it a day and it would have been outrageously more satisfying, let alone the sad service for who could care if one customer didn't have a satisfying $28 meal. ‍ read more

Went here on a Saturday afternoon. There was consistent traffic and service was still good. It was clean. It took about 7 minutes to get my margarita and 20 to get my 3 tacos. The margarita was good and strong! I love that you get the option to have tajin or salt on the rim. I got a pollo, an asada, and a birria taco. The tortillas were really good and tasted fresh. The onion & cilantro also tasted fresh. The taste of the jackfruit birria was really good. Instead I got the nachos as an appetizer and the quesabirria with prepared consome. The nachos were very large, our table of 3 struggled to finish them on top our our tacos. You can pick two "meats" for the nachos. We picked pollo and asada. I've never had non-vegan quesabirria, so I can't speak to the authenticity, but it was delicious! A deep umami flavor that's quite satisfying. But you will need to be prepared with napkins if you get the quesabirria. A great vegan taco spot, I would love to come back! read more

Their horchata is best in country. Ingredients in all the aforementioned were fresh and top tier. The only things I didn't like were the rice and beans. Rice was overcooked, and rice and beans both lacked flavor. I don't know how the vegan proteins were bursting with flavor but the rice and beans were bland. Did I get a bad batch? Disappointing. Earth Plant Based has the BEST rice and beans. Maybe they can confer with them for tips. I tried to go back for sope and nachos but they had sold out early.
