Well first my order was 27 minutes late, then they tried to correct me that it was not delivery and their end showed pick up, so I explained I am still on the receipt window and can clearly see its not, then I had to pick it up and they again tried to clarify almost like guilty person trying to cover their tracks, so no delivery they kept the fee and a tip. Charging consumers for a service not provide is fraud and highly a federal felony for business. Won't be going here ever again. Oh yeah I never got my drink neither. The oyster shells are huge looking and are very small inside and not that tasty. this is the second time I give this place to try and still disappoints me, the burritos are ok but there are better places that are way more affordable with more ingredients and bigger. I am not sure where all of these 5 star and 4 star reviews come from. The people that gave those ratings are either fake or just got used to eating caca. This place is by far the worst restaurant I have been to in my lifetime. Although almost all the restaurants in Taft are disgusting. This place takes the cake. I am including a photo of the this thing they called a plain carne asada taco. If you look at the meat it does not look like anything anyone would want to sink their teeth into. My mom took that meat home for her cats and even they looked at her and gave her the WTF look and did not eat this caca. They served my brother a plate of fish with no flavor. They gave me a campechana which normally comes in a nice red color but they gave me something that looked like it was made with Flint Michigan tap water. The bill was $105 and all of it was absolutely disgusting. Do yourself a favor and do not eat out anywhere in Taft and just drive to Bakersfield or the Casino if you are eating out. Great place for Mexican food! I came with my dad and he says this is favorite spot to get food. The service here is friendly too. You can eat in or order to go. There are booths and tables available to dine in. They have a salsa bar with all your needs to add to your own plates which is super convenient when you love salsa on your food! Their salsa is so yummy! My dad had the chicken fajitas and that was so tasty and the chicken was juicy! I had two tacos, one lengua and one asada. They were great! The last time I ordered a burrito they made it wrong 2 times and got it right on the third try. I just ordered a chicken, rice, tomato and cheese burrito NO BEANS and I got carne asada with rice and beans. My husband even double checked with them and they said it was just what he ordered. One of the BEST Mexican restaurants in town....AND man there are a lot of them! I don't how this many similar restaurants can be supported by such a small town, but anyway, enough....On to the food! One of the best Chile Verde recipes I've had. The Chile Verde burrito is the size of a semi truck and NEVER disappoints! Make sure to get it wet, it's perfect. Next any thing with taco next it is wonderful. The different meats are similar, but just different enough that you don't get bored. There's a little salsa bar for throwing salsa on your tacos, but watch the orange one!!! Very hot!! I've also really enjoyed the appetizer type foods and the fajitas. Fajitas is a good large portion and seasoned perfectly. Enjoy that one. There's usually only one waitress, who is also the person taking the orders, oh and the person putting together the food once prepared, getting the chips and salsa ready and more and more and more! Her pay is NOT enough, but she always does it flawlessly!!! The only reason it only gets 4 stars instead of 5 is that the building needs a remodel. It's very old and dank looking. The tables and chairs need to be upgraded a bit and the AC could be a little better in the blistering hot summers, hahaha so go eat at night when it's cooler. We ordered, taquitos plates, crispy tacos, rice and beans, menudo, nachos supreme, shrimp cocktails and micheladas. I love-love-love that the shredded beef is nice and juicy, seasoned with tomato, onion and bell peppers, yum!! So be sure to order shredded beef in your tacos, taquitos, etc. Menudo was yummy, only that it wasn't piping hot as my mom wanted. Micheladas were tasty but be prepared to add another beer into it because it is Clamato-ey/ spicy. The kids loved their nachos and shrimp cocktails. All in all very happy with this place! Came in on a Friday morning , smelled really good inside. The food experience was ok but not amazing. They portions are huge and they don't skimp on the meat. Considering this place is up in Taft it's actually not to bad. The service was excellent the guy was really attentive and friendly , he accommodated every special request the kids had , with no problem. Bomb Dizzle! Stayed in Taft for a few weeks due to work. I needed something fresh, clean and tasty. I mean the body was just asking for a reset from all the fast foods we eat while being out of time. I ordered ceviche tostadas de cámaron and pescado. I also ordered tacos from almost all of their meats. I also ordered a Tabares sushi roll and let me tell you. It was all delish! Now hold on! I didn't order all of this in one sitting. What kind of a savage do you think I am? These were multiple orders that took place over a span of 2 weeks. Not to make a king story longer but if you're ever in the mood for some bomb authentic Mexican food/mariscos you will not be disappointed with this place. I been looking for a decent taqueria in this town after living here for over a year. With the number of Mexicanos established here, I thought finding good Mexican food would be easy. The places I've tried in town weren't worth the review. I was happy to find this place which was the highest rated on Yelp, but the hours posted were incorrect, so I never went. According to the staff and their menu, they are open 7 days a week from 8am to 11pm. (Call first to be sure.) Parking can be funky and the inside is clean (although I always do take out). I love the tacos de cabeza and the nachos are made with real cheese, not the sauce (which I hate). The pollo asado and lengua used in the tacos could use more seasoning, and the carnitas were a little dry. But the number of items they offer will allow me to continue to explore more dishes. I'll update my review when I've tried more dishes. The prices are very reasonable as compared to other restaurants in town and the food is much better. The staff is friendly and the condiment bar is excellent. They are the only place I'll go to now. read more

I've ordered a few times from this place and the food is always great. However, recently I noticed the restaurant is becoming increasingly more dirty, which is a little concerning. The floor was filthy, mind you it was not busy while I was there. And the work areas, which are viewable by the public were not as clean as I would prefer. I understand that this is a working restaurant, but if you choose to have an open layout as such, I would expect it to be clean. Also service is meh at best. They literally make the best tacos de cabeza in town and not only are their tacos delicious but their customer service is outstanding. Today i went to go get my favorite tacos for taco Tuesday and they mistakenly gave me the wrong tacos to go however once i told them they said there was no problem and replaced the tacos with no extra hassle and no extra charge. The food is good, however the cook was sweating all over the food last time I was there and wiping his face with a rag but never stopped to clean his hands. The cooks are nice guys and I know it gets hot back there but it did gross me out. The women working there are extremely rude and have always been this way but I put up with them because food tasted so good. Maybe sweat is a secret ingredient? I ordered take out and needed several salsas. The woman working behind the cash register was like always being rude and non helpful. I treat people good and respect and common courtesy is important. I also heard way too many stories of people doing gross stuff to food so I'm exceptionally polite to who ever is handling my food and tip well. I politely asked for a bag because we had quite a bit of food and it was going to be difficult to juggle the food and salsa. She told me they don't just give bags away and charged us $1.50 for a single extremely thin bag, the type that tear really easy. I crave their food from time to time but that last distasteful experience there finally broke me and I just can't bring myself to go there again.
