My parents took this class last year and had been nudging me to sign up. I kept putting it off because sitting in a classroom for 8 hours over a weekend sounded like a nightmare. But wow, was I wrong. Joe and Terry made the time fly. The class was engaging, informative, filled with real-life examples that tied directly into their experience, all while tying in their great senses of humor. It was clear this wasn't just a dull PowerPoint read-along like I feared I'd get elsewhere. Their team is equally amazing: super personable and helpful, both in the classroom and out on the range. I didn't catch everyone's names, but every single staff member made the environment feel comfortable and judgment-free, which I really appreciated. I can only imagine how much that meant to the people shooting for the first time. If you're on the fence about taking this class don't be. It was an insightful, empowering weekend and I'm so glad I finally did it. Thank you again, Joe and Terry!

With the current market for firearms in this country, it was hard to even get a call back from gun shops that also performed FFL transfers, presumably because they were so busy with sales right now. Very glad to have found Suburban Arms Transfer. Marissa is very responsive and prompt, and setting up an appointment for the transfer is online and very easy. Fees are very reasonable as well. Although they also do consignment sales of firearms, their specialty is FFL transfers, so you can rest assured your request is not going to fall into a pile like it might at a gun shop who doesn't have time to bother with your $25 transfer when they are trying to sell $700 guns. They are in the northwest suburbs, and it's a safe and nice area. Bit of a hike from the city, but worth the convenience to know that the process was going to be very streamlined.

My wife is a novice with firearms and I have some experience with them but she has always wanted to take the Concealed Carry class. Very nice people and explained everything we asked. I was more drawn to their FFL services personally!! I found a nice rifle out of Texas and sent a few emails regarding their procedures and not only were they answered but responded to within the hour! Their website is laid out nicely and easy to navigate with concise procedures and information. I made the purchase and paid for it. SA was already notified and they texted/emailed as soon as they were in possession of the rifle. Made an appointment (next business day) and went to their location, filled out paperwork, inspected the rifle (which was secured in a very nice safe) and I was done! Maybe 30 minutes because they were VERY streamlined! My wife wanted to take the Concealed Carry class through SA so we signed up and was SO pleasantly surprised! The class was for Oct 16/17th (16 hours) and we completed the course Day 1 feeling really good! Actually all I can say is WOW!!!! My wife whom is a novice was so engaged and made to feel extremely comfortable throughout the entire process! Day 2 was classroom and then range time. In the classroom Sean explained everything and even broke down the laws in laymen terms as well as everyday scenarios so everyone understood it! Range day- Sean and Pat were phenomenal! Extremely safe and very fun! They kept everyone engaged and mixed things up nicely to limit any down time! If anyone is even remotely thinking about taking a concealed carry class I can not emphasize enough how good Suburban Arms is! They also take good care of Veterans!!!! Cant wait for the next level of training they offer! If you are on the fence regarding their services just jump off and jump in because you will not be disappointed by the level of professionalism!

I had been a loyal member of Range USA since before the company even changed its name. I was a…read moremember in good standing, with my credit card on file and automatically charged each month for my membership. When I learned that I needed surgery, I went to the range and specifically told the employees at the front desk that I needed to cancel my membership because I would be unable to walk properly--or visit the range--for at least three to four months while recovering. I also sent an email to Range USA Corporate explaining that I was having surgery, would be out for an extended period, and wanted my membership canceled. Three months later, after recovering enough to get around again, I returned to the range with a very important client who had been looking forward to going shooting with me. Imagine my embarrassment when, standing there with my client, I was informed that I had been "red flagged" and was barred from ALL Range USA locations. I was stunned. I asked what "red flagged" meant and what I had possibly done to warrant being banned. No one at the range could--or would--give me an explanation. I was simply told to contact Range USA Corporate. So I did. After FIVE emails asking what I had done to deserve being suspended, I finally received a response stating that I had too many "chargebacks." Chargebacks? I didn't even know what they were referring to. There is an important part of this story that apparently no one at Range USA bothered to investigate. While I was at home recovering from surgery, someone obtained my credit card information and began making fraudulent charges. My credit card company contacted me about the suspicious activity and immediately canceled the card. Of course they did--that is exactly what any responsible credit card company should do when fraud is suspected. Apparently, however, Range USA continued attempting to charge that canceled card. When those charges didn't go through, instead of contacting a longtime customer and simply saying, "Fred, we're having a problem processing your card. Can you please provide us with updated payment information?" Range USA apparently decided that banning me from every one of its locations was the appropriate response. When I contacted my credit card company and asked about the "chargebacks" Range USA claimed were the problem, they could not explain what Range USA was referring to. I returned to the range hoping someone could help me resolve the situation, but once again I was told that I had to deal with Corporate. My subsequent communications with Corporate were short, abrupt, and offered virtually no meaningful explanation or opportunity to resolve what appears to be a simple misunderstanding. The message I ultimately received was essentially that the decision was final and that I was banned for life. I am still shocked by the way this was handled. I had been a good and loyal customer for more than a year. I had never caused a problem at the range and had never been told of any issue with my membership or conduct. I canceled my membership because I was undergoing surgery--not because of any dispute with Range USA. Then, while I was recovering, my credit card was compromised and canceled for legitimate security reasons. If Range USA believed money was owed, why didn't someone simply contact me? A phone call or email saying, "We attempted to process your card and it was declined; please contact us with updated payment information," could have resolved this entire situation in minutes. Instead, a longtime customer was apparently labeled, embarrassed in front of a client, barred from every Range USA location, and given little opportunity to explain what actually happened. I am extremely disappointed in the way Range USA handled this matter. More than anything, I am disappointed that no one seemed willing to listen, investigate the circumstances, or give a loyal customer the courtesy of a reasonable explanation. I sincerely hope I am the only customer who has experienced something like this. A company should certainly protect itself from legitimate payment disputes, but it should also make a reasonable effort to distinguish between someone intentionally refusing to pay and a longtime customer whose credit card was canceled because it had been compromised. Those are two very different situations, and customers deserve to be treated accordingly. Fred Pfeifer 847-452-9075 fredp@manfredgroup.com

I've been going to this range since the month they opened their doors, and I happily keep going back! This is the epitome of what a "clean range" should be. It has the best HEPA filters in the ranges and it never smells of powder. The employees are all so very nice and helpful, usually with a does of comedic relief. Shooting there is like going to a friend's home to shoot. They make all their customers feel welcomed, rather than some ranges (on Rt 30?) where everyone seems to have an attitude of being better than you and that you're inconveniencing them at their place of work. NOT HERE - YOU ARE ALWAYS MADE TO FEEL WELCOMED AND APPRECIATED AS A CUSTOMER! ALWAYS! While I've been shooting for over 50 years, I recently took a private lesson from Mark Longo to break a bad habit of (like many!) anticipating the shot and shooting low-left. WHAT AN AMAZING INSTRUCTOR! Mark was able to zero in on several bad habits I had developed over the years, and taught me how to correct them as well as practicing drills to continue to fix and internalize them at home. I was always a "decent" shot, but in only one lesson I absolutely improved. I will be joining their club as Mark Longo got me excited to shoot again, because of the progress I immediately noticed. I just want to continue to get better, and I've found no other range that comes close to helping me achieve this. This range rocks! "Uncle Steve" Bloome
