When in Cancun, Mexico or any country you go to, local street food is the best. This was on my to do list when here and I'm glad I found this spot near our hotel. They serve everything to tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas, well... every Mexican dish you can think of. I ordered 3 beef tacos and my Mr ordered the grilled fish tacos. We received chips and salsa with our meals. Three different homemade salsa. All with different taste and spice level. Mild, medium and hot. My favorite was the red sauce followed by the green mild sauce. Wow! The tacos are hands down the best I've ever had. Fresh ingredients. Honestly, it didn't need the sauce because the flavor was so good but it enhanced it. Both my Mr and I cleaned our plates. After our first beers, we had another round because we were enjoying the atmosphere. I highly recommend this place! Reasonable pricing for food and beers! Plus service was excellent and food was super delish! We are definitely returning whenever we visit Cancun again!
We visited Cancun as a family in 2013. We stayed at the Westin Lagunamar Ocean Resort! We asked our Concierge Fatima where do the locals eat. Fatima recommended Tacun. It became a family favorite and it has been our first meal every time we return to Cancun! Authentic Mexican food! Good pricing. The sauces provided with the chips are HOT, HOTTER and HOTTEST! I order the guacamole :) Bring cash! Short walk from resort!
When in Mexico, you're gonna want some street tacos. Good thing this little spot was just walking distance from our resort. And good? Absolutely! Great tacos and salsa, fantastic service, and definitely a local feel. My lady and I went on a Thursday for lunch and were greeted by a very friendly server right away. The seating is all outdoors but under a canopy with lots of fans blowing. Their menu was surprisingly big for a small place with only about ten tables and featured lots of tasty options. Of course, we went with the tacos, my lady had three beef tacos and I had two fish tacos. For our drinks, we both had Modelo Especial. Our server brought us chips and three salsas; one mild, one medium, and one hot. All three were very tasty. We didn't wait long at all before the tacos were ready and they were excellent. My fish tacos tasted like the fish was caught just that morning. My lady really enjoyed her tacos too. The beef was marinated so they didn't even need salsa but the salsa did make them even better. We stuck around for two more drinks, another Modelo for my lady and a Dos Equis for me. And the fact that we got it all for $25 made is epic. This was a perfect spot for authentic street tacos. If we had another day here, we'd absolutely go again. Maybe try some margaritas next time.
I'd consider Tacun a hole in the wall type of place. It's kind of tucked away in between a few resorts but not located inside a resort. The chips and salsa were really awesome and a great way to start the meal. I got fish tacos and my fiancé got adobada tacos. I thought the fish tacos were good but not great. I like my fish tacos deep fried and crispy so the steamed/braised fish lacked flavor and texture for me. The various sauces helped make up for it though but I would've like more flavor on the fish itself. Their adobada tacos were better. I'd say great but not awesome. I've had better adobada tacos at tacos el gordo in San Diego.
We were staying at the airbnb right next to it and our host told us that we get complimentary margaritas as her guests so off we went! Standard menu, nothing special but the dishes were good. We got some fish, a chicken cordon bleu, and tacos. Their chorizo was delicious - perfectly fatty and crunchy. Service was farm and friendly. Forgot to ask the name of the server but he was nice. He also made sure that the fan was on us the whole time since it was a sweltering hot afternoon. Perfect for a snack or light dinner, but probably won't go out of my way for it.
If you're in Cancún and haven't been to Tacun, you're seriously missing out! This unassuming hole-in-the-wall joint delivers some of the best tacos I've ever had--and I'm still dreaming about their al pastor tacos. The al pastor is simply perfection: tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Every bite is a delightful explosion of spices and perfectly marinated meat, cooked to perfection and served on warm, fresh tortillas. It's the kind of meal that makes you stop and savor every bite. Not only is the food incredible, but the prices are also spot-on. You get amazing quality without breaking the bank, which makes it even easier to indulge. Tacun is proof that some of the best culinary experiences come from the simplest places. If you're in Cancún, do yourself a favor and make a stop here. Your taste buds will thank you!
I had to downgrade it a star as they were out of certain ingredients that happened to be in our favorites. We had chicken enchiladas and fajitas, and queso fundido, all good; the service was good. Be careful with seating, as some chairs are broken. The prices have gone up a bit, and I'm including menu pics.
This is a hole in the wall taco joint, but the value to price is high. It's your classic Mexican restaurant, it's not anything fancy, the decor is dated, it doesn't feel super clean or modern, and you're right next to the road looking at a broken circle K sign. But it was right down the street from us and the food was great. The service was friendly. The prices were insanely reasonable. We got 2 eggs with chorizo breakfast plates, ceviche, coffee, orange juice, and obviously it all came with chips and salsa - $35 all in. I left full and my wallet was happy. 4 stars as honestly it is a bit dirty but if you're fine with that I recommend it.
Our favorite lunch spot! Tacun was just down the road from where we were staying, so we loved coming here for a quick, affordable lunch. My favorite tacos were the cochinta, served with pickled onions. So yummy! We also loved the gauc, queso, and chips and salsa. The carne asada tacos were delicious too. The tacos come with a mild, medium and spicy option. The spicy is sooo hot so be careful, but the others are really yummy! The servers were super nice, and food came pretty quick most of the time. I miss the tacos from Tacun!! Need to make another trip to Cancun for them soon :) read more

I had to downgrade it a star as they were out of certain ingredients that happened to be in our favorites. We had chicken enchiladas and fajitas, and queso fundido, all good; the service was good. This place didn't look the best but it was actually cute. The food and service was great. The lady didn't speak much English but she was so sweet. The address Yelp had was wrong but i tried to update it to the correct one read more

Passed by this restaurant/taqueria on our walk home & decided to get a bit. The staff were very kind & attentive. The restaurant was clean & several people were eating there. The restaurant provided chips with 3 different salsas. Some were very spicy but they warned us of the variations of spice. We ordered the grilled steak with onions and also the chicken soup.The tortillas are very good and so is the food. Go check it out if you're wanting late night casual meal. read more

We wanted to find a place with Mexican food since our resort never had any, and we were so hungry. We traveled at night to find this place and it was such a little gem on the side of the road. The guy that help her table was absolutely amazing. He was super sweet and accommodating to our table and the food was very delicious. read more

Tacun is a small unassuming eatery with awesome food and drinks. My friends and I came here practically everyday during our 5 day trip back in 2021 and so when I was back with one of the same friends again, we had to stop in for lunch. The service was fast and everything we ordered was delicious. The mango margarita was made from fresh mangos and is not to be missed! *CASH ONLY! They take both pesos and US dollars read more
I had my eye on this spot since the first night I was here. Riding the bus down the strip and I keep seeing this spot busy at night. YOU KNOW I HAD TO STOP IN. Lol. Anyway. It's right on the hotel zone so you can walk if you stay close. Or take the R1 or R2 bus. The skirt steak tacos were tender. And the fish tacos were AMAZING. it was sea bass and the breading on it was so flakey and crispy. Then you add this orange color sauce they serve with it, then add a squeeze of fresh limes. CHEF's KISSSSSS! I had rice, guacamole and chips and 3 tacos and it was like only $15 US. Note: Bring pescos it will help when you get at local spots :) read more

Easy to miss spot in the Zona Hotelera, but worth the turn-around! Attached to the front of one of the hotels, this spot has great reviews and earns 4 stars by having a great staff with great food. Very limited seating. Cheap beers, delicious agua frescas, large menu with great choices for locals and tourists alike, as well as several vegetarian options! Carry some extra pesos with you for the performers who stop by to serenade your table. Would return. read more

Had the anchiote grilled fish with veggies and rice. I was allowed to substitute and customize my order. Excellent flavor and value for $180 pesos. The margaritas here are also excellent. They offer takeout. I particularly enjoy it here for lunch because it's shaded. read more
I would give this 10 stars if I could. - Venue - outstanding, feels authentic - and fun - small place. - Service - Outstanding and consistent. - Limes and salsas - none better - love the habanero! - Street tacos, asada, pork, chicken - 5 stars. - Chips - not too salty, always fresh. Finally the yelp tip. Not on the menu, but two days in a row the order was Chorizo and scrambled eggs, beans and potatoes, fresh tortillas - salsas and margarita (Nothing wrong with a margarita for breakfast). Honestly this was my last meal in Cancun before going to the airport and it was a disappointment because of the amount of cheese on the omelette. It felt more like melty cheese than an egg. I was unable to really eat my omelet because of this. The beans and potatoes were good but egg wasn't the greatest. Food was out super quick and service was good. I recommend if you need something quick and are on the go and aren't looking for that wow factor. read more

One of the best AUTHENTIC and not blandest food on the Cancun Strip! Tacos for days and that Tamarindo Slushy Margarita is BOMB!! One of my favorites to stop to just coming into Cancun. The best to get are the Tacos and the Chips with the best Salsa's as well as the Guacamole. You won't regret it!!! Especially with how bad Hotel Food can be sadly when looking for some spice!!!! read more

Definitely a hidden gem! If you are tired of those chain restaurants and wanted to try some local places, Tacun should be on your list! Loved the spicy salsas! The fajita was really flavorful but not overly salty. Wish I could try everything on the menu! read more
On our last night in Cancun we hit this spot right opposite to the flamingo mall after a little souvenir shopping. They have a few out door table facing the road. We ordered Tacun special (chicken fajitas) which was delicious. We had some beef tacos as well with some pico and harbenaro... won't get any better. Over all great spot to grab a bite. Friendly staff and straight forward. read more

This was one of the best meals we had during our 2 1/2 weeks in Cancún. Portions were large, service was great, prices are very reasonable & the food was delicious! Tables are outside so it's a little warm but they had fans & a canopy so even in June it was not uncomfortable. Very casual & you might not notice it but do not drive by without stopping here! read more
If I hadn't had so many other amazing tacos while in Mexico, I may not have known better. So when we stopped here for dinner, the place felt like it might be alright when we sat down at the colorful tables, but that was about the best of it. We ordered a number of tacos that came out rather dry and bland, though they did load it up with meat. We also got a shrimp cocktail which was about 90% sugary ketchup. The handful of shrimp didn't feel like it made up for the cost. The fish tacos were supposed to be breaded and fried, and it was indeed breaded but came out like it was grilled, completely black. And I think we got food poisoning from drinking the lemonade. Prices are on par for the area and type of food but may not be worth the quality. Staff is pretty helpful though, but it was kind of a turn off having them constantly try and usher people into the restaurant. read more

Come eat here! We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara it was less then a five minute walk. We had pibil tacos, they were delicious. My friend also had shrimp tacos, we thought the shrimp were small. There is no wifi, which is a plus if you consider being present in the moment. Delicious & affordable. I suggest a stop at this place while on a walk in the Hotel zone read more
Took a taxi here from our hotel which was just a few miles from where we stayed. This is a cool hole-in-the-wall joint that is serving up some good local food. We ordered al pastor tacos and al pastor burrito with added avocado. We also had chips with salsa and guacamole. There were 3 diff salsas they serve you. There's a green one that I think has avocado in it and is the mild one. The medium red one has a kick to it. The last is a dark green one that is made w habanero and is hot. All were good and had me sweating some in this summer heat. The guac was excellent and I will go back just for that. I wanted to try the carne asada but they were just serving up al pastor and pollo dishes today. Everything we tried was fresh and delish. We did wash it all down with some pina coladas which were refreshing and not too sweet. The service here is outstanding and everyone is very friendly. They quickly removed dishes and make sure all is well. They speak some English so it's easy. Dining is open air on the patio. Place is cash only. They do allow you to pay in US$ but don't know what exchange they give you. read more

The food here is amazing! A must stop when visiting cancun. The prices are great, and the food is even better! The salsas are really good, and the menu has a lot of different options. I would recommend everything. We also ordered Asada tacos didn't get a picture but they were amazing high-quality meat. read more
