Two complaints: 1. The last time I was here, they cut my toe and didn't say anything. Obviously I'm going to feel it if you cut my skin too far. Don't play stupid 2. The wait is way too long. I've arrived here three times now at opening and spent almost an hour waiting to be seen. People line up in the front. The manager arrived late (so no one could get in). Etc Pros: obviously they do a good job on my nails. My last regular pedicure looked nice for 2 weeks before it started to chip. They also offer a 1 week warranty on no chip manicures (which, honestly every salon should offer). I had a manicure done 6 months ago that was not sealed properly and began to chip within the first week. I was out of town (unfortunately) when it began to chip, but I'm glad to know it would have been covered. read more

Not impressed at all with quality of service. I ended up getting a no chip which I didn't want because they thought they could do that better than a colored liquid gel that I had gotten done previously. They couldn't explain articulately what service was being done. Needless to say I won't return though it is 2 minutes from my house. read more

I would first like to say, I just moved to the Chicago area, so I was looking for an affordable nail shop to go to. Taday was actually not bad at all. I typically get a no chip gel full set/fill and a pedi w/no chip polish and a fake toenail put on my big toes. They started my pedi less than 5 min after I arrived. I don't know the name of the first girl who did my pedi, but she did a nice job. My only complaint is she couldn't do my fake toenail on my big toes, so I had to wait 15 min for someone to else to do them. I ended up being placed with Miy, she did a great job on my toenails and my nails. My shape of my nails and big toenails are nice, and not rushed. I felt so bad I had no cash to tip her. But I will send request her each time. My only other complaint is they really need to keep up with the cleaning in the salon. There was cob webs and spider webs in the corner that need some tending too. Also, they don't have the best selection of no chip polish. read more

For my first mani pedicure Chicago it wasn't bad I went in at 11 and the person I had worked everything out. It's nothing wrong with a man going to get their feet and hands done. It was a bit crowded but they got everyone in and out in a timely manner. So for now on this is the place I would go. I do wish they opened earlier than 10am read more

If I could have given this place a no star I would have! Please do NOT ever step foot into this place. The owner is disrespectful, inconsiderate and rude. I entered this place on a Tuesday to receive a manicure and a fill in, the individual who worked on me which was a young man seemed rushed, although when I arrived it was early. However he finished my nails and I had no complaints, but the following day after work I found that (4) of my nails were chipped! This was the next day! I called to inform the owner of my situation. I assumed that they were going to make it right when I was asked to return to this place. I figured maybe they were using old nail gel or something that made the nail chip. I arrived to meet with the owner and he told me that I should have read the paper which they had glued to the wall, the paper read if your nail chip they are not responsible under any circumstances. If I would have seen this I absolutely would not have turned around and ran out of this place. I explained to the owner that this did not make sense and that I spent a total of $75 and tipped, he began yelling and screaming telling me he did not care how much I had spent. I asked him to stop screaming at me and conduct himself, needless to say I walked out very disappointed and very disrespected. Please stay away from this place! read more

I still don't think I should have waited an hour to get my eyebrows waxed and I ended up going some other place. I have been going to Taday Nails for over a year now and have received nothing but excellent services. They have an abundance of GOOD nail polish and provide all spa services. It's also the cleanest and nicest looking shop on the south side of Chicago. Tuan, the owner, is very nice and gets my nails right every time! Been going here for almost a year now on a regular basis and I'm always satisfied. Still clean...very professional...and the nail techs are great. Recently, a lot of new nail techs have come in and it hasn't changed the quality of service. I even have my mother coming here and she has to pass dozens of nail shops to get here. Took a chance on a Saturday evening with my roommate. The wait was a tad long but that just goes to show how popular this buisness is. Every person that we encountered was super friendly and the salon had a great vibe. I got a pedi and a color change for my no chip and my roomie got a no chip mani. The orginal color I wanted was out but my manicurist picked out a similar color for me and I love it! Both of us are super satifisfied with both the service and the price. We have tried other places in the Hyde Park area and have not found a gem like this one. We will be back! read more

This is my neighborhood nail salon that I've gone to only every once in a while for minor touch-ups. I was reminded why that was last week. During my visit, not only did I witness another customer get upset due to rude treatment, but I then experienced it myself. After having to return for a repair to my nails (after 30 minutes the polish was bubbling and sliding off), it then got to the point where I personally had to deescalate the situation by not engaging with the nail technician saying rude things to me, talking in whatever Asian language they speak to her coworkers, and laughing and I suppose poking fun (seriously, I wish there was video of what occurred). Reading the other reviews about how rude the staff here just validates that they overall have a true issue with awful customer service. I'm not sure if they feel like they can do this because they are servicing mostly black customers, but it's unfortunate and now I'll make the extra trip to get my nails done with not only more experienced technicians but ones that value and respect their customers. read more

My daughter and I had a great experience here on Saturday. It was our first time visiting the nail salon and we were not disappointed. We each had a pedicure, no chip manicure and eye brow arch. Our favorite part of the visit were the nail technicians. Both John and "Sweetheart" were engaging and very professional. We will certainly be returning every two weeks. read more

I live in Bronzeville and i am so glad that Taday Nails in in my neighborhood. The staff are very professional and Twon is exceptional and so is his staff, they make sure their customers well taken care of and i absolutely love the way my nails, feet and occasionally eyebrows are done. This is a wonderful, awesome addition to the neighborhood and i am more than satisfied with the service. Did i mention that the No-Chip polish is the BOMB my nails are still looking good and i need to go in there asap but i really don't have to that is how awesome my nails still look. Bad service --Nov 4, 2017 visited Taday nail salon to get a simple fill-in. Showed up early at 915am because I was told it opened at 10am. They open & let clients in early. So I was impressed. Signed on the sheet I wrote John because I saw another person wrote John. He was the only man in the shop at the opening. I was corrected to write the man who sits upfront name who was Twann. He had 1 client ahead of me & was working on her so I waited. At 10am a woman and her associate walks in to get nail & feet service. They were told to get their pedicures 1st. I waited for my simple fill-in. 1040am Twann tells me to go to John. I stated I am waiting on you & he says I got a client after this one. The client was the lady who came at 10 & signed after me. I walked out. Wasted 1hr of my time. Twann looked at the paper 50times. He could have stated that when I 1st came in or upon seeing I was waiting on him. Future client lost to lack of professionalism. If you like ratchet then this is the nail salon for you!!!! read more

Went there this Thursday and asked for Ombré no-chip nails. And they turned out hot a mess, I went back the next day and told the owner that the ombré effect was not done correctly on my nails. And asked could they fix them and change my nails to a solid color. He was rude and basically replied No. It's very upsetting because, I've been going there since the shop first opened. The customer service is horrible, I had to go to another nail shop and pay get my nails done the right way. I would never go there again. read more

best pedicure massage chairs i've ever been in, clean and bright space, lots of OPI and Essie colors, friendly people, free parking, reasonably priced! there's a big sign that says they no longer charge $1 for credit card use, and they even have a $2 cash discount. not the best mani/pedi i've ever had (a little polish on cuticles of a couple toenails, minor shaping issues), but still pretty good for the convenience and price. in addition to the just turkey and harold's, the plaza now has a small produce store, so in one trip you can get pampering and veggies to mitigate your harold's guilt. read more

I randomly called Taday to see if I could get my eyebrows waxed. The gentleman who answered the phone had a friendly demeanor which provoked me to go. The salon is nice; a lot of color selections as it appears most of their business comes from nails. I usually get my eyebrows threaded so getting them waxed made me a bit nervous. The wax was a perfect temperature (temperature of the wax was the reason I stopped getting waxed in the first place.) The woman doing the waxing used pencil to draw the shape before applying the wax which impressed me. Too often I see wax smeared on an eyebrow freehand and prayers are sent in the atmosphere- hope for the best! Not this place. She knew exactly where that wax was going! She took her time, arched them perfectly and cleaned up the little stray hairs. The cost is reasonable and the location is convenient (especially having a small parking lot). I will definitely be returning for my eyebrows and probably to get my nails done too, some of the designs they can do are amazing! read more

Average neighborhood nail salon with varying quality. Sometimes it's a excellent job, other times not so much. The wait time Is the worst. Seriously, get your act together and pay attention to when you have your longest wait times and make your sure are staffed accordingly. My time is more valuable than your lower prices. Also they no longer do discounts for cash, but if you pay in cash you get raffle tickets for $200- not sure if that was cash or for services. I got there 10 minutes before opening and they had their doors open and getting people signed in. They started with my pedicure immediately. The pedicure was pretty good. Something they used did break my legs out in little red dots- hopefully they'll disappear soon. The scrub she used was pretty abrasive. I had high hopes for the design I showed her, from seeing all the awesome pictures on here. I was aiming for a patriotic vibe. I wanted my big toe to be white and red stripes with a blue star. Well apparently they only had these clearish stars (I thought they'd use paint?). The picture I showed had thick stripes but she used a detail brush and made three janky thin lines. I was so excited for the cute little blue star but she added the clear decal ones and you can't see it. From my view it looks like the nail polish is messed up. I wish she would've used a straight edge so the lines would be crisp, straight, and more evenly spaced out. I think I could've done a better job. The toes that are just blue polish look great, though. I was going for the same look for my manicure but with the colors switched up. I got a different guy so I was hoping for a better result because obviously finger nails are a lot more visible. I got a full gel set. He did a little better on the lines but still not as thick as the picture and the clear stars didn't give look I was wanting. My other nails look absolutely flawless. I hope it lasts my entire 4th of July vacation. I will probably go back for a fill and polish change. Bottom line- good mani/pedi but be weary of getting nail art. read more

I've been here several times to get my eyebrows done, and each visit ends in worse and worse eyebrows. I have thick eyebrows that I like to get shaped and waxed, and EVERY time I come here my brows are waxed way too thin. Poor Customer Service: There is something to be said about businesses lthat do NOT appreciate their customers. I used to be a regular customer and would get no-Chip manicures. The manicures, were like a box of chocolates....some nail technicians were betrer then others...so you never really knew what you were going to get. In the past, I would try to wait for the techs that I felt did a decent job but it just wasn't worth giving up that many hours of my day, so I resolved to signing my name and take whoever was first available. Well after going here for nearly 10 years, Ithis place will NEVER see another dime from me. The owner is arrogant. He doesn't value our dollars. I've witness him over the years speak to customers carelessly, as if we don't have a choice to take our dollars elsewhere. Well, I guess it finally was my turn to be on the receiving end of his insults. This particular day, I requested a no chip manicure and regular pedicure. I waited approximately 20-30 minutes for my name to be called. I was directed to a nail tech who, mind you, has never done my nails before. She proceeded to try and use the motorized nail file to remove the old polish. I requested that she manually file my nails as the motorized one ruins my natural nail beds, and it simply isn't necessary....acetone removes the polish effectively. Anyway, she then aggressively begins to file my nails, I guess upset that she had to do her job per my request versus how she wanted to do my nails...oh well. Despite her overreaction and hurting my cuticles to remove the polish, I sit through it all and do not complain. Once all of my nails were in foil, she motioned me to go to the pedicure chair. So I'm thinking she is about to start my pedicure right? No, she literally starts to stretch and act like she had nothing to occupy her time. So I'm sitting at the pedicure station with foil on my nails looking perplexed. The owner comes over and motions to two other women and then to me and tells me I'm third in line for a pedicure. I then questioned if the young lady could just finish my manicure as I was on a time schedule. Then he explained that the young lady did not want to do my nails. I then walk over to his desk to ask him what the issue was, as no other information was offered. He said I was "too picky" and the young lady doesn't want to do my nails. Now mind you, this tech has never done my nails before but she sat next to another nail tech who has. This was a tech whose service was subpar at best. I had to remind her to use the primer first on my nails, and had to come back ithe next day for a repolish because my no-Chip, chipped. In any rate, I'm the paying customer, if ever there was a time to get something like how I want it done it's when you get your nails done. Long story short, if you want your nails done to your specifications, in a respectful manner, take your hard earned money elsewhere, where it is appreciated. read more

I just left Taday Nail Salon. This is my second time here in the last year. If you are in a rush, I would not recommend this place. The wait was long...today I had to wait over an hour. HOWEVER- The guy who did my nails- Tim- was awesome!!! I did not feel rushed, he asked me to let him know if he was hurting my fingers, and he took his time to make sure my nails were perfect. Yelpers, you know what I mean when I say I did not feel rushed. I have been to several nail salons in Chicago over the years, and it seems like the trend is that they want to get you out of their chairs as soon as possible so they can get to the next person. NOT TIM... He took his time and wasn't finished until my nails look great! If you go to this nail salon, ask for Tim!!! Tell him Carmen sent you, lol! I was helped by Sweetheart and his mom and they were AMAZING! They were extremely nice, not pushy but helpful and their service was done quickly. They were really patient with me bringing my son in with me. I love my nails so far and I will be writing another review in a week too comment on how well their nails keep up with busy mom- day to day. This place depends on your nail technician does a good job. But i agree with one of the other person on here. This business is slow most of the time when comes to getting your mani's and pedi's. There are always long waiting times and lines. I had an appointment this pass friday at 10 a.m. no one showed up finally at 10:24 i left. That was unprofessional. And some of the nail techs are messy and then want to talk about the paying customers in their language. Twan is a good nail tech but the rest i can't say that about. Their prices are a bit expensive. And i have had some issues with their no chip nail polish. Tip: Make sure they are not mixing these polishes or your best bet is to bring your own or watch them take theirs freshly out the box. Needless to say i won't be returning. I'm so disappointed! I try my best to support "my community". But just because it's in the hood doesn't mean the services shouldn't be professional!! OMG!! Twon/the owner who sits at the front desk was very rude to me! I asked him what other technician I could see who is as skilled as he was. He said just have a seat and we will take care of you when a space opens up. I said, you didn't answer my question, he says they are all good or I wouldn't have hired them. I said, that's not true because I had a bad experience and I don't want to waste my money. He said well if you don't want them to do your nails you can leave then, thank you very much. I said really, that's how you are going to talk to me. I told him I have a right to inquire the skill set of the person I'm going to give my money to. I work hard for my money and I just don't frivolously throw it away. He wasn't accommodating or professional and I swear I will never go back in there and I would advise anyone not to spend their money ANY WHERE if they aren't treated with respect and given excellent customer service. taday nails you won't get my money or the other 15 women I know who I referred there. In addition ladies the best way to show a business we don't care for the disrespectful way we are treated when we spend our hard earn money is to not give them our money. nail shops are on every corner.
