Went in because the plant we got there a couple months back is now covered in bugs and it has been for a couple month but we thought it was dried up sap since there's also saps dripping from all over the plant, cleaned the floor twice a day hoping it would get better and finally got tired of it. The lady at the front was rude and unhelpful about the whole thing, and unpleasant from the start and basically said while no matter how loud you complaint i can't do anything about it(I was not loud at all even though she kept interrupting me); her attitude was entirely uncalled for; two people worked them gave me completely different advice one said it's too far gone one said spent three hours scraping off the bugs and it'll be fine, so which one is it? Apparently their workers doesn't really know how to take care of plant either; same thing happened when we were there before, one told me it loves sun and needs water and another told me it hates sun and don't water too much; also a tally, out of four fruit trees we bought there two has died, their stuff last shorter than cheaper plant we bought from Home Depot, but we have always went back because their employees are super helpful until today. This lady completely changed my mind about the place, she's saying well doesn't matter how many thousands of dollars you spent at our store, there's nothing I can do about it. Would I be this angry if she had better people skill? Probably not; two trees we bought there had died already and we still went there but she alone made sure we'll never step int here again. What a shame maybe she's the owner of the place that's why she didn't care, if she's not, then the owner really should keep a closer eye on their employees, not sure they even know she's been saying things like well we don't care how much you spent here. The refund of the tree would have be $50, and if she was better at her job I would have still gone in like usual even if they couldn't take it back. But instead she singlehandedly helped me make the decision they don't deserve another cent from me by being disrespectful and unprofessional. Great job! I want to support local business but it should go both ways, if they disrespect their customer like the money they spent didn't keep their business open then maybe they don't deserve to stay open. She may not care about the money we spent there but I do; I'm hoping this is one employee and I hope they listen and don't let her chase any other customers away. We are sad how today's experience turned out, we always loved that place and sometimes go just to look at plants and always ending up spending money there, but I guess it doesn't matter to them read more

Beautiful stuff. But about 1/2 of what I purchased ended up dying within a week. I've never had this problem before. I spent over $1000 there and they didn't think my business was valuable enough to replace the plants. So I guess you have to be a commercial gardner to warrant a refund. They gave me 1/2 of my money back on the ALL dead plants. They had no explanation for why some of the plants (with virtually the same watering and same sunlight) survived, except that it must have been my fault. And they acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me any money back at all. Profoundly disappointed since I love gardening and had just recently discovered this place. Went in to ask help about my dying lipstick plant (which I bought from there about two months ago). A young gentlemen helped me pick out this plant initially because I was asking about hanging plants that were pet friendly and could do medium indirect light. I noticed it was dying pretty rapidly (wilting, vines breaking and leaves turning a bit yellow). I read some gardening blogs and it would mention to avoid over watering and to re-pot). SO today I decided to go back and see if they could offer any other suggestions (since I assumed they were pros). I got a lot of attitude for my questions and definitely talked to me like a fucking idiot. Example: "what light does it get?"..i answer "it's west".."do you see the mountains?".."no, cause I don't have a mountain view".."so you can't see the mountains? Cause the mountains are west"..." I live in a sub-division so I can't really see the mountains just more houses"..."well the if you see mountains it's west". NO SHIT IF I COULD SEE THE MOUNTAINS ID SAY I COULD SEE THE FUCKING MOUNTAINS. I also mentioned maybe my place wasnt warm enough (mid 60's) and she said that should be fine. SO after her making me feel more like a dumb ass cause she kept on mentioning I have to follow plant guidelines for Colorado not any other place and that everything I was reading was wrong..which I replied, ok then can help me with what I should do then?! Another lady approached giving input and all of a sudden she starts to walk away mid conversation and I'm following her thinking she's going to get someone else to help me with my question about the return policy but I was wrong. Instead, both ladies stopped and look at me like wtf are you doing still here?! Which I replied, "I'm sorry, I thought I was supposed to follow you". I'm just super annoyed cause I like this place and not having a green thumb I'd like it if I could get assistance from non salty-snarky-why the fuck are you here blank stares. I love their selection and helpful staff. The place is beautiful all of the plants are healthy (unlike at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.). Their staff never seemed rushed to answer my many questions. Plus they host an adoption event for animal rescues every year. How can you not love a business who cares about and gives back to their community? read more

I have all but lost interest in shopping here, after spending thousands of dollars over the last 10 years. My biggest complaint is the fact that the coupons they offer always have major stipulations for redemption. If you have Kitty Cash certificates, you can only use them for 50% of your purchase. I had $21 in certificates and had to spend at least $42, what a joke. Some of the employees act like you are doing them a favor by shopping here. I have become very frustrated over the last several years and today's visit sealed my decision to shop for flowers elsewhere. read more

I've been shopping at Tagawa for years. Most of the time they have what I need, high quality garden tools or organic pesticides, mycorrhizae, the stuff real gardeners use. I love their selection and many of the staff have been great help over the years. They also have a GREAT loyalty program! There's a gentleman on the floor who is always just so helpful and there's a lady who works behind the customer service desk who is friendly as can be. The reason I docked a star is because when I end up working with some of the other floor staff, they have been less than friendly - someone else mentioned snarky... That was pretty accurate. If I'm afraid to ask for help because I'm afraid the sales person is going to bark something rude at me... Well I'll go elsewhere. Sadly I had such a negative experience the last time I was in that I've been going more to Nick's and Paulino's the last few weeks. I'll probably be back to Tagawa at some point for the selection... I've just been sort of disheartened by my most recent trips. read more

These people are very knowledgeable. I go here for any garden or lawn needs I have. They have organic options that you wouldn't find anywhere else. They are always willing to help and take the time to inform you on the best products for Colorado lawns. Other places carry stuff that isn't specifically good for lawns in our area. This is my go-to place They have a great selection of plants, pots, and supplies, lots of organic herbs and vegetables, knowledgable staff, and the most amazing array of classes, most of them free. Not only can you get stuff there, but they'll teach you how to plan, plant, maintain, harvest, and use or cook it afterwards. The greenhouse is a great place to come in midwinter when you're just so sick of all that brown. It's also pet friendly. Their mascot, grey kitty, departed many years ago, but there's usually a cat in residence working pest control. (They're between cats right now). Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome, and very happy they are to be there. Me too. read more

I love this nursery and the people who work there! Year after year Tagawa's delivers for me. After giving my patio pots...about 20...a bleach wash, I take them to Tagawa's to be planted and lovingly grown in their greenhouses over the winter. When they haul the plants out on flatbeds, customers in the store literally gasp. By the time the pots are delivered in May, they are full grown and bursting with color. The delivery drivers have the patience of Job....moving pots around the yard as I change my mind about where to place them. I couldn't even buy the plants to fill the posts myself for less money. If you haven't had Tagawa's plant your patio pots for you, please consider trying it this year. I've been doing it for too many years to count and I've never been disappointed! read more

Horrible experience working with Judi in customer service. She was very rude to me. First I kindly asked to get a second frequent buyer card for our business that way my staff does not have to use mine. The staff in the nursery that gave me the suggestion. She didn't even let me finish my sentence. She cut me off and aggressively informed me that she had been there for 20 years, no correction, 25 years. so she new what the rules are and she can't do that!! Good grief!! I thought customer service as to help people, not lecture them on how long she has been working there! All she could have said " I'm sorry but your were misinformed, but this is what I can do for you. Is there anything else I can help you with?" We paid for our trees and then we needed to schedule a delivery and she again rudely informed us that she only does 2 deliveries a week and we would have to wait at least 3 weeks. Her whole attitude was so bad! First I can't believe someone would be so rude about a little discount card. Second, she could have listen to us, and at least pretend that she cared. I do not like coming into a business, spending over $1500 and then being told in so many words that everything that we were just told was wrong, and she is the only one that knows "the rules". Not constantly cut me off and inform me how long she has been there. How was I supposed to know that I was given wrong information. Because of her poor attitude and lack of respect I will never shop there again! read more

My favorite garden place! Excellent selection, knowledgeable staff and great community outreach. Only downside is I NEVER can get out of the place without buying plants! But I am never sorry. Classes are excellent, I take the Xeric class each year and always learn something new. Specialty classes from Rob Proctor have helped me have a garden and garden pots that my friends admire. Plants may cost a little more but perform much better. read more

A-MA-ZING! This place is unbelievably f-ing fabulous! If they don't have 'everything', then they have pretty darn close to it. I've never seen so many great looking plants in one place in my life (and I'm getting close to 'senior discount' age). AND this place is organized so you can actually find things. The only downside for me is that this nursery is about 14 miles from my house so it's not exactly a 'pop on over' kind of place (which, in the long run, may turn out to be a good thing for my bank account!). Me and the Hubs visited this past week to get ideas and 'pick brains' about shrubs for our patio. I will say that we both left extremely impressed - and with one 'focal point' shrub to get us started. I think I can definitely say we'll be back - despite the long drive. Even if you have a nice garden center closer to you house for flowers (like we do), this place is most definitely worth checking out if you need trees or shrubs. They have an incredible selection. They also have knowledgeable and helpful staff. Kudos! read more

Tagawa greenhouse has become an annual tradition to go there during Mother's day weekend to buy the spring flowers and vegetables. The largest selection found anywhere in Denver and high quality! Excellent variety, easy to figure out prices, great sales, professional and knowledgable staff

I have been a happy guest at Tagawa for years, they have a great loyalty program that allows special discounts to be used every day. They have the best, hardest working employees that I have seen at any other garden center or greenhouse. The staff at customer service is attentive and always available to answer questions or point customers in the right direction. The layout is great, they are leashed-pet friendly and they have the best deals around. Their selection is immense, they have plants, flowers, hanging baskets, fruits and veggies from floor to ceiling, and there are a ton of employees there to help answer questions and to help customers who are new to gardening. They have a ton of activities and things to keep the kids entertained, their classes are taught by experts and everyone always has a smile on their face. The friendly folks at customer service are very helpful and eager to please, and the staff on the registers are quick, accurate and efficient. The store is clean, the parking lot is clean, there is a distinct lack of clutter despite a giant inventory of amazing plants and other goods. Great job Tagawa! read more

They do not stand behind their plants! No REASONABLE guarantees for the high prices. Annuals are sold way too soon for the COLORADO regions to sustain them but sales staff claimed as long as they are "acclimated" they will do fine - NOT TRUE! We bought planters and many hanging basket in early May and followed instructions to the "T" carefully "acclimating them" by bringing them in the house in a greenhouse environment they have. Since I counted on the quality expected of Tagawa, we bought them and lost every one - we spent hundreds of dollars on plants they sold too soon. But the worst of it was the customer service - When I called to ask if they would refund or exchange a woman said they do not guarantee annuals because they could not control the weather and whether they were cared for properly as they post signs in the store about this. I explained how I did "acclimate" them and she said "well I guess that's just how you learn"! Ya, I learned alright and Tagawa lost all my respect and future business. read more
