My family decided to board and train our six month old puppy for obedience training. We were experiencing small issues that as a first-time dog owner, I wasn't sure how to adjust. Ken has worked wonders for our little Frenchie "Titus". Titus went in snapping at our kids, pulling on the leash, barking at anyone and anything that would cross his path, and whining in his crate. After Ken's board and train program Titus came back a new dog! Ken has also helped us and "trained" us on how to be better dog owners. It has been a night and day difference and we are so grateful!! From the consultation to the post-board and train support, Ken and Simone have consistently delivered. Our Willow is a spunky, headstrong little pup and we lacked the language, experience, and expertise needed to establish effective boundaries and clear communication lines with her. Enter Ken, who, after our consultation meeting, was already offering us some very practical, very doable tips to help establish some sense of normalcy back into our lives. We enrolled Willow in the 2 week puppy piddler program and paired it with some private lessons at Ken's suggestion. We're so glad the hybrid program is something he now offers because it's made us more effective pack leaders to help uphold the foundational training she received in the 2 weeks she was with him. Immediately, we noticed a difference in her behavior. She is still just as spunky, just as stubborn, but now she comes with an off switch. She's perfectly happy sniffing for a treat as she is laying next to mom while she's working. She no longer counter surfs and happily settles into her crate when needed. Part of the package we purchased also included a 5strands test for food and environmental intolerances that could contribute to her behavior. When we picked them up, Frankie 2 Toes and his sister Makena Blueu both were perfect walkers among the customers, loud noises and shopping carts at Lowe's. They also learned in house manners and really loved Ken, even though boarding was like boot camp and Warden Ken didn't let them get away with much meathead nonsense. We cannot say enough amazing things about Ken with Taggs K9! We enrolled our one-year-old Cavapoo, Pride, in his two-week board and train program, and the transformation has been incredible. We took our four-year-old dog, Scout, to Taggs K9 for the "Mind Your Manners" program, and the experience has truly been transformative for both Scout and us as dog owners. Scout has always used a harness and was a chronic puller on walks. He is only 12 pounds, but the constant pulling was frustrating and made walks more stressful than enjoyable. I first contacted Ken in early November, and from the very first phone call, I was impressed. He was incredibly informative and honest, explaining why the harness might actually be working against us and how "unearned freedom" at home, such as jumping on the couch or sleeping in the bed, can contribute to behavioral issues. He did not judge. He simply educated. His professionalism and clarity immediately put us at ease. Ken fit us into his schedule right away for an in-person assessment. Ken and his team at Taggs have been instrumental in my life by teaching me how to be a better "Boss Doggy" for my dog Coco. Coco monster as Ken lovingly deems her is my spicy Jack Russell Terrier (aka terror ). I enrolled Coco in Taggs Canine Clarity Board & Train program for 21 days so he can work with her on her extreme reactivity, nervousness, aggression as well as provide her the structured routine that I lacked prior to this program. While Coco was in this program, I got regular updates on her progress from walks to working on reactivity in public areas as well as training on resource guarding. Coco is now back home under a pretty solid routine and she even loves her treadmill time which she gets 2-3 times a day. It will be continue to be a work in progress to maintain all of Ken's teachings but it will be worth it in the end as my relationship with Coco has changed for the better. Dog owners beware. I came to Ken / Taggs after reading all the glowing reviews only to be disappointed. Not only was he 45 minutes late to the initial "free phone consultation" (he later told me he was "finishing up with another client" but no message or call to let me know), he also no-showed the first in person training appointment (45 minute drive for us one way from West Henderson area all the way to North Vegas) without as much as a simple text to let us know. We had to find out when sitting in his parking lot trying to find out why the shop is closed and no one is letting us in. He said he had a family emergency and his "assistant was supposed to notify us". Ok whatever... We signed an agreement for 2 different dogs, 3 1+ hour sessions per dog, so 6+ hours total between the 2 dogs. I'm former military so I mentioned the military discount offer he has on the website, he said he doesn't offer that discount on hourly packages but he'd "give a discount for not showing up the first training session". Hmmm okay... We had a total of 3 (!!!) 1-1.5 hour sessions with both dogs present and whichever dog he wasn't working, was just sitting idle tied up on a doggie bed with my mom (2nd handler). I mentioned to him that this wasn't what we'd agreed upon and that we were supposed to have at least 6 hours between the 2 pups, 3 hours per dog, as we were paying $500 and $400, $900 total... To that, he replied "well, that's why I gave you a discount".... What? That wasn't why... I didn't agree to cut the time in half at any point, and this was supposed to be a military discount in the first place. Other reputable trainers charge $100-125 for 1-1.5 hours IN YOUR HOME visits, and they do a heck of a lot more than tie the dog up and make them sit calmly as you walk around them. We drove 45 minutes out of our way each time to learn literally nothing. Overall, we got about 3.5-4 hours total between the two dogs, so he made $250ish an hour essentially, and all my dogs were doing was "learning to stay calm in place" while tied up to the wall. He said the "number of hours didn't matter", and that he was "happy with the dogs progress" regardless of time spent. HUH? Furthermore, while we were actively training, people came in and out of the shop, he got distracted by calls, other people came in early for their session and he allowed them to distract my dogs 15-30 mins before our session was supposed to be over. He explained that if he didn't answer the phone, it'd go to an "answering service that charges him for each voicemail". I don't care... it's your business... I'm paying for your time with my dogs. Last but not least - part of this "package" was a lifetime "guarantee" that we can attend group lessons once "graduated" from his 3 lesson program. Once I asked more questions about it, it turned out it's only 1 year (so not truly lifetime). But either way, he ghosted us right after we finished those measly 3.5 hours and this was in April 2024. I texted him inquiring about the next meetup location and date/time, (he left all my messages on "read", so I know he got them), posted in the private facebook group (no response for 3 months now), etc. I even recommended him to my friends and got him in touch with someone (initially, before all this went down) and he clearly does not care. read more

I took my puppy to their board and train for two weeks. I had a lot of fears prior to taking my puppy there: are they reputable? will they hit my dog? will they sell my dog? and so on. They surpassed all my expectations! Kat and Ken are very kind, dog loving people! They reassured me many times that my pup, Ziggy, was in good hands and after dropping him off the first day, I had zero doubt they were going to prove me wrong. Kat stayed in constant contact with me (when she wasn't training) and sent me many updates throughout the day and evening. They post all their daily training on Instagram, so I got to see Ziggy's process from day 1 to day 14! My pup learned a ton in a short period of time. He learned sit, down, place, come and let's go. He also learned to stop jumping up on people and other dogs. He was 5 months at the time of training, so he still has a lot of crazy puppy behavior in him, but that should be expected as he is still a PUPPY! I took my dog Royce to Ken because he's very reactive to other dogs. We did the 3 personal 1:1 sessions and Ken gave me a variety of tools, tips, and tricks to help with his reactivity. LIFE CHANGING!!!! I took my boy to Taggs when he was about 6 months old and we did the 2 week board and train program. I was super worried because I would not take him anywhere with me without him getting aggressive with other dogs. He is the most loving boy but when it came to other dogs he became super aggressive. Even my own dogs! I couldn't even take Koda into the back yard without making sure the other dogs were put away. I did not know what else to do. I knew that I have trouble with Anxiety and such and when I adopted Koda I had this in mind. I knew my goals for him and by the looks of it they were not going to be achieved on my own. Our 4 year old mixed mutt was having issues with not having patience with puppies and small dogs.
