Okay, so I'm totally going against the grain here as I found nothing exceptional or overly exciting about this restaurant. My son found it and wanted to give it a try, so we did. The place was totally empty when we walked in and outside of 1 Uber Eats order we were it 4:30 PN. But, it still took 15 minutes for two bowls of ramen and one rice bowl to be ready. Our meals were good but not worth the drive from Marcellus. I've had worse and I've had better bowls of ramen. The stock was good but it was lacking any real depth of flavor and seemed to be singular in tone and lacked any real silky rich mouth feel. This is a nice spot on Genesee St if you're looking for something different than pizza, Phoebe's, or other quicker food options up on the Hill. I'm not a bubble tea fan, so I can't speak to that, but I do quite enjoy their ramen bowls and have had them on multiple occasions. The standout for me is the miso base with chicken. The broth is piping hot, the green onion flavor is awesome, and it's a chock full of ingredients. The interior is unique with big, open windows and some funky booths. My main complaint here is that service tends to be a bit slow. I'd recommend ordering ahead of time and then eating there once you pick it up or just doing take out. I really do love the decor. They have bubble tea, create your own sushi and poke bowl. I got the bubble tea. It was good not as good as back home but it did the trick. This is a place I have been to many times prior. In the past month, I have bought over 250 dollars worth of meals. I accidentally ordered the wrong drink today. I ordered a "jasmine green milk tea." However, I meant to order a taichi green milk tea. Due to this miscommunication, the worker put that I ordered a "Jasmine milk tea." When I explained the situation, they would not give me the drink I wanted to order. Even after I showed the manager my Uber Eats evidence that I only order the "taichi green milk tea." (X7 orders in past 2.5 weeks, all including "taichi green milk tea" and not "jasmine milk tea." I bought a side seaweed salad, ramen, and boba. With tip my total was 34(pricey!!!) and change. I was told that if I had come up to the register and said I didn't like the flavor, the drink likely would have been replaced to the drink of my choice but since I said the word "jasmine" they would not replace it. In my entire life, I have honestly never encountered a staff/manager that were so unreasonable. I regret including tip. This is a basic non-issue in any other restaurant business establishment. I would recommend Hi Tea, Mr Noodle and Mrs Dumpling, for those looking for boba/ramen spots. Cake bar downtown also has good boba. Surely, there is normal customer service at these restaurants. Good boba tea! I stopped in for a minute to get a refreshing iced boba tea on one of the hot days in Syracuse recently. I got iced black tea with mango flavors and tapioca boba. It was very refreshing. I usually get teas unsweetened with no added sugar or syrup, but I forgot to ask this time. Even though I forgot to ask for it unsweetened, I thought it wasn't overly sweet. So I went to Tai Chi Bubble Tea thinking I was about to have a cute little matcha moment... and it was literally the worst bubble tea I've ever had in my life. It tasted like straight water -- no flavor, no sweetness, just nasty brownish-green liquid that looked like sewage runoff. I wish I was exaggerating. We spent $45 total, and my drink was so bad I didn't even touch it after the first sip. I went up to the counter, super polite, and said I wasn't happy with my matcha and asked if they could fix it or swap it for something else. The guy wouldn't even make eye contact and goes, "Not really anything I can do." I said, "You can't do anything? Not even trade it out?" and then the woman jumps in and says, "Matcha at bubble tea places usually tastes like grass," and shrugs. Sorry, but this didn't taste like grass. It tasted like diarrhea water. It looked disgusting, completely separated, watery, and undrinkable. And when I tried to show them, they just stared at me like I was the problem. No apology, no remake, nothing. It was 8pm on a Friday night and the place was empty. Now I know why. If this is how they treat customers, they're lucky anyone walks in at all. I was in the area and decided to try this restaurant. Something different. For my entree, I ordered and enjoyed the pork bowl with rice, tomatoes and jalapenos. Excellent. The pork had great flavor. Portion in the bowl was large. For my drink Black Tea, brown sugar milk which was fantastic. A little strange with the "boba" tapioca pearls added but they were enjoyable. One of my go to places when I'm coming home from a long day of school. The inside is very nice and spacious. They have a lot of seating. They also have a corner and large tables to play board games. I think it's a very good hang out spot for students. The service was good, the staff is very friendly. I got the regular tonkotsu ramen (they also have a spicy version). The broth is so flavorful, it's a pork bone broth and has this rich smoky flavor to it. I get it with the pork and it's the perfect pairing, there is other protein options as well. the quality and quantity is very good. It comes with 3 slices of decent size pork pieces, bamboo which is very crunchy and not soft, fish cake, and a egg. The egg is perfect, still very yolky. I would definitely recommend this ramen if you like a more creamy broth. I also get the green passion fruit tea with tapioca. It is a perfect mix, it's not to sweet and very good. The tapioca was chewy, I'm not sure if they cook it in a syrup it doesn't have much sweetness to them. I have try their version of the brown sugar milk tea boba. Unfortunately I was not a big fan, it was just like milk. I wish they add more of the brown sugar in the drink to make it more sweet. Overall the prices were average, it was around $17 for the ramen and around $6 for a small, $7 for a large for the bubble tea (I think the bubble tea is a little to pricy). Other than that, I really enjoy their ramen, mostly on a cold day. I would love to try their other selections. read more

Very good food that was ready very fast. Ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork and it was very nice. My buddy got the rice bowl with pork and that was very good as well. The food was delivered minutes after ordering and staff was very friendly. We chose to eat at the restaurant, which was a good experience, very well lit and clean. My only complaint would be the lack of reusable utensils, which I was a little disappointed in. So excited I've found a new bubble tea place around here since my fav spot closed due to Covid. This is some of the most comparable boba in the city. I loved my chocolate taro smoothie. Normally I never have any issues with this company until the other day when they put brown rice in my order after I notified them that I was allergic. I ended up having to go to the hospital that I called back asking to speak with a manager after explain the situation to a regular employee, the young lady I spoke with told me that it's my fault because I should've checked my food prior to eating it. Since then I tried to contact the owner to get some type of compensation (I literally just wanted my order remade) and he told me I'd have to speak with their insurance company. I am so happy I found this place!!! I used to love Unique Tea House on Marshall Street but unfortunately they permanently closed. Since then I have yet to find good bubble tea in the area. I had the Taro smoothie and also added the chocolate flavor. I opted for the "less sweet" as sometimes places can go overboard and I don't like it super sweet. Safe to say it was perfection! I also tried the 2 protein rice bowl with tuna and salmon, a bunch of different toppings and their spicy Mayo sauce.
